1. Since his early days Baichung's football
ambitions have been promoted by his family mainly his uncle
Karma Bhutia.At the age of 9 he joind SAI
(Tashi Nangyal Academy)and got a Scholarship from their.
2.Baichung Bhutia first came to the limelight at the
1992 Subroto Cup in New Delhi where he was the BEST
PLAYER awardee.
3.In 1993 Baichung was signed for East Bengal F.C.one
of the strongest teams in India.His name proposed to Club by
former Indian Goalkeeper and Ex-skipper of East Bengal Club
Mr. Bhaskar Ganguly
4.After Subroto Cup's Excellent performance he played
in the Asian U-16 Cup Qualifiers for Indian National
Team.
5. In 1995 Baichung joined JCT Mills of Punjab .This
year with his excellent performance Jct won the first-ever
Indian National Football League title, and
Baichung was also the league's top scorer by scoring
14 goals.
6. In 1997 Baichung returned to Kolkata League and
played for Eastengal .This time he was the captain of
EastBengal in the age of 21 only.
6a.In the 81 year Derby History between India Giant teams East Bengal
and Mohunbagan A.C ,he is the only footballer who scored a hattrick
In the Semi - final Match of AIFF Federation Cup Tournament( 3 July,1997) he scored
the spactacular hattrick in front of 1,31,000 spectators(World Record) at Salt Lake Stadium for his
team K.F.East bengal F.C against Mohunbagan A.C

for England's 2nd Division club Bury F.C.which is

goal in the english professional game.There he played
upto 2002.
8. In 2002 Baichung returned to India and signed a
new contract with NFL champion Team Mohun Bagan A.C
9. In 2003 Baichung signed for his former club East
Bengal and playing their till date.
10.In 2003 he went to play for Malayasian Champion
Team Perak F.C as a loan for three months and there he
scored 4 goals.
11.IN 2005 -2006 NFL Baicung scored 12 goals for
Eastbengal as a Captain of the Team in 17 Matches.
12.IN 2006 -2007 Baichung Joined Mohunbagan A.C and
help the Team to win Federationan Cup 2006 (Won Most Valuable Player Award)
