PRIME MINISTER UNVEILS BRICS U-17 TROPHY 01.10.2016: AIFF PRESS RELEASE : The honourable Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi unveiled the Trophy for the BRICS U-17 Football Tournament today (October 1, 2016) in the Capital. All India Football Federation President Mr. Praful Patel and the Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Mr. Vijay Goel were present on the occasion.

Shri Modi wished all the participating teams as he tweeted from his Official account @narendramodi: ‘Unveiled the trophy for the BRICS U-17 Football Tournament. My best wishes to all participating teams.’

The BRICS U-17 Tournament will be played on the sidelines of the BRICS Summit in Goa with U-17 National Teams from Brazil, Russia, China PR, South Africa and India locking horns for the top honours.

The Tournament kicks off in Goa on October 5 with India taking on Russia on the opening day of the Tournament. The final for the Tournament is slated for October 15.

The 2016 BRICS U-17 Football Cup will be the 1st edition of BRICS U-17 Football Cup. The tournament to be played in Goa, India in 2016 on the occasion of the 8th BRICS summit that will be held in India. The Tournament will be following the lines of the tournaments under–17 FIFA. The tournament will commence on October 5th and conclude on October 15th 2016.
