2013 FIFA CONFEDERATIONS CUP - 15-30 JUNE : Brazil : How they prepare for the Tournament before World Cup 2014?

01.06.2013 : [( COACH RON SANYAL from USA - International FIFA 'A' License Coach, President/CEO of Brazilian Soccer Connection, Inc. (A Non-Profit Company) Compiled By: A.Dutta ] .. Yes The World Football Fans are waiting more 14 days as the FIFA Confederation Cup 2013 is slated to begin 2014 World Cup hosts Brazil from 15th June. The Beautiful Game then will go on till 30th June in Brazil - The land of Football Legends.

From the time in 2007 when FIFA had accepted Brazil's bid to host the World Cup, critics have been quite skeptical about this decision and have often doubted Brazil's ability to host the 'World's Biggest Sporting Event'. Do these critics have a point? Is Brazil ready to host the Confederations Cup? Let's take a look. Two-time defending champion Brazil is getting ready for the Confederations Cup as a stage rerashal of 2014 World Cup.

  • Brazil is a BRIC Nation and has good economy and well financed by FIFA itself. So they should not face any problem regarding logistics.

  • The six stadiums Brasilia, Rio de Janeiro, Fortaleza, Belo Horizonte, Salvador and Recife being used for the Confederations Cup are in various stages of readiness. Six others that will be used for next year's World Cup are still being built, and FIFA has demanded they be ready by 2013 Dec. 31.

  • Hyundai Motor Company, the official automotive partner of the 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil also organise the transportation for Confederation cup . 302 units of Hyundai vehicles including HB20 (33 units), Veloster (100), Genesis (5), Azera (25), Santa Fe (10), ix35 (45), H1 (65) and H100 (19) will contribute to the smooth operation for one of the top football event in the world.

  • Accomodation facilities in all cities are quite good. Some hotels are still under construction but none of them are under the threat of missing the deadline. caxirola, which costs about Dollar 15, which produced the sound like vuvuzelas a long plastic horns hich used by the fans at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa has been banned from the Confederations Cup because of safety concerns and warm up of 2014 FIFA world Cup.

  • Communication can be a major issue as most people in Brazil speak Portugal only and are not too fluent in the global language of English. But the Brazilian Sports Association (BSA) have given the assurance there will be bilingual volunteers available at all venues during all matches.

  • Regarding Security, Brazil Air Force will deploy two drones over the stadiums of Rio and Brasilia during the opening and closing of the Confederations Cup.

  • Brazil Super Star Neymar will be allowed to fly to Spain next week (as he signed Spanish Giant Barcelona) after the end of England friendly - for the official introduction to Barcelona but he must return within Tuesday to continue his preparations with the national team for Confederation Cup. Before that, Brazil will play France on June 9 in Porto Alegre.

Thus it can be concluded that Brazil is ready to prove the critics and they are definitely ready to host the Confederations Cup. The World Cup which is still a year away, will definitely bring a much bigger challenge. But considering the progress, one may be optimistic that the home of the Samba Boys will host one of the most successful football World Cups of all time.

Not only that Mexico did win in their last encounter though, a 2-0 friendly victory in Texas, USA in June last year thanks to first-half strikes from Giovani dos Santos and Hernandez. The two scorers of the said match will play against Brazil tomorow.

Mexico lost their starting match to Italy 1-2 in 2013 Confederation Cup. That loss only heightened the pressure of Coach Chepo Manuel De La Torre, who has also see his team mis-fire in the CONCACAF zone of World cup qualifying, having only notched 5 draws in their last 6 Games in North American Qualifing for 2014 FIFA world Cup.

In the Brazil vs Mexico head to head, the South Americans lead the way over the Central Americans. In 37 previous meetings, Brazil have taken 21 wins to 10 from Mexico. The goal count stands at 69 goals for Brazil and 36 to Mexico in those meetings.

Veteran midfielder Prilo all set to make his 100th cap for Italy when they start their campaign against Mexico in Confederation Cup 2013 in Brazil.

Controversial young striker Mario Balotelli is still doubtful due to right thigh pain. Manchester United forward Javier Hernandez will start but Giovani Dos Santos place is starting Xi is still in doubt.

CONCACAF champions Mexico is regular in Confederation Cup while UEFA EURO 2012 runners-up Italy have one of the four teams (along with Brazil, Germany and Argentina) to play more World Cup than Mexico.

After back to back two draw against Czech Republic and Haiti, coach Cesare Prandelli can gain confidence with their head to head records against Mexico. Italy lost just once to Mexico in 11 games - a 2-1 friendly defeat in their last meeting in 2010.

But Italy's last win against Mexico was 20 years ago when they beat Mexico 2-0 in a friendly in Florence in January 1993. Two legendry footballer of all time in Italian football history Roberto Baggio and Paolo Maldini scored for Italy.

With the huge experience of Pirlo with two young sensational striker of AC Milan's Mario Balotelli and Stephan El Shaarawy can give hope to Prandelli's side.

Olympic champion Mexico also made back to back two goalless draw in their last two World Cup qualifying matches against Panama and Costa Rica. But young forwards Javier Hernandez (25), Giovani dos Santos (24) and Andres Guardado (26) can make the differences for his country.
