Argentina, who can be reckoned as one of the contenders for the crown will play their first match of 2014 World Cup at the newly renovated historical Marcana stadium at Rio de Janeiro against Bosnia and Herzegovina in an important Group H match on Sunday evening.
The group stages are quite easy for the Messi Brigade and it is expected that Argentina will easily register their first winning campaign against Bosnia who incidentally is the debutant in the World Cup final stages. Though it will be the first match of Bosnia in the World's greatest football show but Safet Susic, the Bosnian coach is optimistic for an improvised performance on Sunday evening. Susic is the first coach to take Bosnia-Herzegovina to a major tournament.
His Dragons, a team he took over at the end of 2009 after Miroslav Blazevic will play Argentina in a different Maracană on Sunday. While interacting with the media Susic said, "I would not say that we are inexperienced, This team may lack some depth, but it's foundation are strong enough to combact the situations. Bosnia have players like Dzeko or Miralem Pjanic, which I think could easily play in any other team in this World Cup." Susic is confident enough and he feels that, Bosnia is capable of to perform some surprising results in the tournament.
While, Argentina are planning to start their campaign in a attacking mode in order to avoid any set backs. Lionel Messi will going to lead in the upfront, who is in good shape after a mixed season with hamstring problems and fewer number of goals than usual, with a mere three goals for Argentina as compared with the 13 goals he scored between June 2012 and June 2013.
Argentina are having a strong attacking force as Gonzalo Higuain of Napoli and Sergio Aguero of recently crowned Premier League champion, Manchester City are also the prolific strikers who is capable to give Argentina the attacking force that they need. Carlos Tevez, who happened to be Juventus' top scorer for the season is also one of the prolific scorers that Argentina have in their armory.
