PREVIEW ADHIRAJ DUTTA : Argentina can guarantee their passage into the knockout stages of the World Cup with a victory over Iran in Belo Horizonte tonight at 9.30pm IST. Despite conceding early, Bosnia and Herzegovina made it difficult for the Argentinians in the Maracana and it wasn’t until Lionel Messi inspired his team with a second half goal that they started playing in the manner that was expected of them by fans and neutrals alike.

Coach Alessandro Sabella is expected to unleash his famous 'Fab Four' attacking force on Iran, namely Lionel Messi, Sergio Aguero, Gonzalo Higuain and Angel di Maria. Rodrigo Palacio is the only injury worry in the squad and is expected not to take any part tonight.

Iran displayed a resilient performance against Nigeria in their first match, holding the Super Eagles to a goalless draw. They are again expected to start with a dogged defensive lineup against Nigeria, with Fulham midfielder Ashkan Dejagah the only attacking threat in their lineup.

Iran coach Carlos Queiroz wasn't happy with his team being labelled as defensive, saying the result against Nigeria was a fair reflection of the game. He also said his players deserved 'sympathy and respect' for performing on the biggest stage despite the impact of economic sanctions on the country - which made it difficult to arrange friendlies. The former Manchester United assistant manager, though, has wisely labelled this match as the 'biggest match in Iran's football history'.
