 15.09.2015 :The FPAI Indian Football Awards 2015 will be held in a reputed hotel in Kolkata on the 27th of September. As a normal practice all the professional players have voted for their colleagues and this year we will be introducing 3 more awards for the ISL. The fans can vote for the fans player of the year .

27.09.2015 : The FPAI, today honored the footballers and coaches in the "Indian Football Award 2015" at Kolkata. The awardees were selected on the basis of votes castes by the footballers. The legendary striker Shyam Thapa were honored with "LIFE TIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD" for his extraordinary contribution in football.

Glimpses of Shyam Thapa's carrier :

*Born in 1948 at Gulami, Nepal
*Spotted by Jatish Chandra Guha at a young age and joined East Bengal in 1966.
*A dream start for East Bengal scoring a hatrikk in the CFL match against Rajastan Club.
*Top scorer in the CFL in 1971 with 14 goals.
*He joined Mufatlal of Mumbai in 1972.
*Rejoined East Bengal in 1975.
*Scored a goal in East Bengal's historic victory against Mohun Bagan in 1975. East Bengal won 5-0.
*Shyam Thapa joined Mohun Bagan in 1977.
*Scored the first goal against King Pele’s Cosmos Club at Eden Gardens, Match ended in a 2-2 draw.
*A brilliant goal against East Bengal in the IFA Shield final in 1977. Scored a brace against East Bengal in the Rovers Cup Final.
*Won the Bronze Medal in 1970 Asian Games.
*Shyam Thapa obtained a coaching degree from English FA in 1987 and joined East Bengal as a coach.
*He was the coach of Nepal Youth team in 2000.
*He joined Mohun Bagan Sail Academy as a coach in 2003.
*Shyam Thapa joined Tata Football Academy as a Technical Director in 2009.
