Vasco Sports Club and Guardian Angel Sports Club played out a draw in the Goa Pro League match played at Duler Stadium, Mapusa, on Thursday. Guardian Angel SC's James Fernandes received marching orders following his second booking in the 61st minute. Precio Dsouza was the other Curchorem player to get into the referee's books. Vasco SC also had their three players on the booking list. Hussain Pinjar, Myron Pereira and Shubham Malwankar were the three players.

Churchill Bros down Velsao SCC

Churchill Brothers SC recorded an easy 2-0 win over Velsao Sports and Cultural Club in the Goa Football Association’s Goa Professional League match played at Rosary ground, Navelim, on Wednesday.

The match began on equal footings as both teams played the ball more in the midfield. However, Churchill Brothers SC did take the chance which came their way and took the lead in the 39th minute through Jovel Martins. The Varca-based team led 1-0 at the break. Crossing over, Velsao SCC did try to get back into the game but they suffered a blow in the 66th minute as Uttam Rai scored the team’s second.

Churchill Brothers FC and Guardian Angel SC played out an enthralling 2-2 draw in the Goa Pro League match played at Rosary ground, Navelim, on Sunday. There were no scores in the first half as all the four were netted in the intensifying second session.

With not much of action rather than Clifton Dias’ yellow card in the first half for Guardian Angel, the second session began with a bang as Churchill Brothers SC shot into the lead in the 47th minute through Clencio Pinto. But Guardian Angel were determined and didn’t lose hope and scored two goals through Yakubu Mohammed in the 61st and 70th minutes respectively, to give the Cuchirem side a well deserved lead. But hardly had the joys settled down, Churchill Borthers were back on level terms thanks to Gilbert Oliveria’s equalising goal.

In another match at Duler Stadium, Mapusa, Sneden Rodrigues heroics helped Panjim Footballers steal a point from strong Goan FC side. The development squad of the Indian Super League side FC Goa were first to score through Lalawmpuia in the first half. However, Sneden Rodrigues equalised early in the second half. On level terms, Goan FC attacked in numbers and surged ahead through Liston Colaco, but Panjim Footballers were rescued by Sneden’s late equaliser.

Vasco Sports Club suffered a narrow 0-1 defeat at the hands of Calangute Association in the Goa Football Association Goa Pro League match, played at Duler Stadium, Mapusa, on Saturday. The new-look Port Towners took time to settle into the game and Calangute Association took full advantage of the situation as they scored early in the game in the 16th minute through Nicolau Colaco. Schubert Pereira, Minesh Kunkolkar and Aman Govekar of Vasco SC went into referee’s books. The winners led 1-0 at the break.

12.10.2018: Salgaocar FC 4-0 Corps of Signals.

A fine brace from Ronaldo Olievera helped Salgaocar Football Club beat Corps of Signals 4-0 in the Goa Football Association Goa Pro League match played at Duler Stadium, Mapusa, on Friday.Like their compatriots –Dempo SC and Sporting Clube de Goa – Salgaocar FC too recorded a win with a huge margin. Despite started on a slow pace the Green Brigade put up a solid second half display as Ronaldo scored the first in the 55th minute.

Once the deadlock was broken, Corps of Signals were totally outplayed by the opponents as Godfrey Mascarenhas netted the team’s second at the hour mark. Two minutes later, Mackroy Peixoto scored the third. Salgaoacar hit the final nail in the Signals’ coffin in the injury time through Ronaldo.

11.10.2018: Dempo SC 5-0 FC Bardez

Dempo Sports Club made their intent clear with the opening 5-0 win over FC Bardez in the Goa Pro League match played at Duler Stadium, on Thursday. Pruthvesh Pednekar and Beevan D’Mello excelled for the Golden Eagles as the duo scored a brace each in their 5-0 riot of Bardez. Jaison Vaz netted the other goal for the Panjim side.

Finishing runners-up last season, Dempo SC didn’t want to have any more slip ups and began the season with a win. The Golden Eagles started the match brightly but managed to take the lead in the 27th minute through Pruthvesh. Changing over, Pruthvesh doubled the lead in the 47th minute and Beevan D’Mello scored the team’s third in the 48th minute. The former Salgoacar striker score dthe fourth in the 83rd minute to complete his brace and Jaison Vaz scored the fifth in the 88th minute.
