SANJAY SEN

We feel at ease at home. We must improve our away form. Still, we are left with three away fixtures and all of them are equally important to win the league. It hardly matters whether we’re playing in Kolkata or Siliguri, we have to play an immaculate game to get the better of our opponents.”

EAST BENGAL
PLAYED : 14

GOAL SCORED : 25
GOAL CONCEDED : 11

TREVOR JAMES MORGAN
There’s nothing difference between a Kolkata Derby and another Hero I-League match. But it’s always difficult to pick up points in these matches. As the calculation says, we’ll be four points clear of Mohun Bagan. On the other hand, the championship might slip off our hands if we leave the ground as second best.Their current form speaks volume. To put it straight, I was very disappointed with some players’ form in our last fixtures. We have to toil hard for success but trust me, when it comes, nothing can be sweeter than this.

The match will kick off at 7 PM .

KOLKATA DERBY 0-0 12TH FEB 2017
East Bengal and Mohun bagan shared points, as the all important Derby in the current edition of I League ended without a goal being scored. It's a evenly poised encounter at Siliguri where the first session of the match were dominated by Mohun Bagan. East Bengal came back strongly in the second session with a strategic chance in the midfield by Trevor Morgan but unable to convert even the Mohun Bagan goalkeeper Debjit Mazumadar was at the mercy of Plaza.

Willis Deon Plaza the international from Trinidad and Tabago, could have been the hero, if he converted the easiest opportunity of the match in the 56th minute of the match. An areal lob from Dika from the midfield beat the Brazilian defender of Mohun Bagan Edardo and Plaza hits straight to Debjit even after he came from behind with a sudden acceleration. The Red and Gold had an good combined attack in the second session spear headed by Wedson Ansalme and Mehtab Hossian in the midfield while Nikhil Pujari and Narayan Das utilized both the wings. KOLKATA DERBY 0-0 12TH FEB 2017

Mohun Bagan had the better of the exchanges in the first session created some positive openings. But credit should be given to East Bengal custodian T.P.Rahanesh who did some brilliant saves denied Pritam Kotal and Sony Nordi to score. Rahanesh saved a shot from Pranay from inside the eighteen yards following a square pass from Sony from the left. Rahanesh was rightly adjudged as the Man Of the Match.

East Bengal remain at the top of the I League table twenty points from eight matches, while Mohun Bagan are at seventeen points from seven matches.
