The Afc Cup semifinalist East Bengal Club are placed in the ninth position with eleven points from the eight matches which they had played. In fact the performances of these three teams are far beyond the expected and desired level. The era of Trevor James Morgan and Armando Colaso had ended in East Bengal and Dempo respectively.
East Bengal farewelled Marcos Phalopa in the middle of the season and have recruited Armando Colaco, who personally feels that the physical conditions of the Red and Gold Brigade have to develop in order to be successful in the long run. Dempo Sports club too are not in a comfortable position after a lot of changes in the team. The Arrows coach Arthur Papas are now in charge of Dempo with a lot of young prospects along with some experienced campaigner.
Though Dempo is yet to prove it's dominance for which they are known in the Indian football scenario. The newly introduced teams in the I-League Bangaluru FC has really stunned the football fanatics and are now leading the table with 21 points from 11 matches. Except Sunil Chetri this JSW team from Bangaluru does not have any stars in their line up. But the utmost thing which may be mention that Bangaluru FC are combining as a unit.
The former Blackburn Rovers assistant manager Astley Woodward should be given full credit who has done the magic in building up the team combination within a very short spell. The last years runners up Pune FC are still maintaining the second rank as they on eighteen points from ten matches.
The climax of the I league started between the AIFF and the Salgaokar Sports Club of Goa as the parent body forced to deduct points and goal from the Goan Club. Mathew Foschini and Fulgancio Cardozo participated in the matches against Bangaluru FC and Pune FC on the 22nd and 26th November respectively. AIFF claims that these two overseas players have not cleared the necessary formalities and thus their participation in the I-League is illegal.
The verdict of the AIFF is that both Bangaluru and Pune should be awarded full three points and three goals. Bangaluru FC had won the outing against Salgaokar by a margin of 1-0 while Pune FC drew the match against the Goan Club. So, it will be a joyous moment for Pune FC to gain points and elevated further in the league table. Salgaokar's Secretary Raj Gomes claimed that the Match Commissioner has checked the players card before the match.
Though the governing body clarified that the if registration cards were made available to the players, it doesn’t mean their registration process is complete. The I-League are proceeding to the take off stage as all the teams except East Bengal has already played fifty percent of their matches. So, it is expected for a seesaw battle in the coming days.

RED CARDS - 3 : Raul of Pune Fc, Eche of Mohun Bagan and Thoi Singh of Bengaluru FC.
The defending champions Churchill Brothers are not in a good shape till now. With their new Technical Director Sukbinder Singh this team from Goa are in search of their first win in the league. The performances and the team combination are yet to be at its best. Churchill had wasted ten important points in the primary stages which will prove to be most valuable in the later stages.
Dempo is the another Goan club who are still to prove it's dominance in the league. Alike Churchill Brothers Dempo, who had a lot of glory in the I league is yet to find the winning note. The reign of Armando Colaco has ended and the young coach Arthur Papas had to gone back to Australia to renew his visa. There is some chances in the Dempo team formation. Apart from Clifford Miranda, Peter Carvalo, Samir Naik,Debabrata and Subhasis there are new faces in the team. Though Beto is an experienced man in Indian football but he is looking for the combination with the team.
Salgaocar Sports Club are now with seven points are in a formidable position. Derek Pereira has joined the Salgaokars who is a successful Indian coach. Salgaocar had two wins in the league so far and drew the Goan Derby with Dempo in their last outings. Among the Goan teams they looked to be settled, as they are combining well in the mid fields and in the up fronts.
The Kolkata Club Mohan Bagan are repeating the same performances like last couple of years. Mohan Bagan drew their opening encounter with the Bangaluru FC in the added minute goal. They lost to Pune FC by a brace in the last I-League match. The Indian football fanatics are yet to see the the dominance of Mohan Bagan in Indian football who always targets to win and perform like a champion.
Mohan Bagan depends lot on their Goal Machine Odafa Okilie who is nursing his injuries. The brilliance of the Nigerian goal machine can changes a lot in Bagan's performances, other wise this year's Mohan Bagan are not looking impressive till now in the I-League. Their newly recruit Keynesian striker Erik Muranda has scored in the CFL. But the standard of the CFL and the I-League differs a lot. Erik have to be in his peak to get success in the I-League.
The United Sports Club are in a deep financial turmoil are in search of a suitable financial partner. The players, coach and the supporting staffs have shown their gratitude and responsibility to make the club participate in the I-League without receiving any advances. United are with seven points in their four outings which can be regarded as favorable for them in the initial stages.
Mohammedan Sporting Club of Kolkata are in deep problem now. The Durand champions who are promoted in the league this year, are yet to open their account. They lost all the three matches they participated. The officials have invested a lot to make a competitive team, but the injury of Luciano Sabrosa in the deep defense is a prime factor. The other deep defenders have not prove their efficiency so far.Penn Orji in midfield and Tolgey Ozbey , Josimar Di Silva are not combining well, which these three foreigners must showcase in the long run.
The last years runners up Pune FC are occupying the second position after the end of the third round. Michel Snoei had Joined the Pune team who had a good pre season training which is reflecting in the performances. Pune had two good foreign recruits in their upfront - James Mayer and Raul Fabiani. Apart from this Pune signed two young bloods from their academy - Nikhil Kadam and Daanapal Ganesh. These two young stars are already in the first team of Pune Fc which is really a good instance in Indian football.
But, the team which has impressed so far is undoughtly Bangalore FC. Bangalore FC not only leading the 2013-14 league table but they are showing an improved performances in their matches. Although Bangalore FC had played all their matches at home, one has to see how they perform in their away matches. The star attraction in the Bangalore deep defense is John Johnson, who had converted in their favor in two of the matches from the corner kicks.
The I-League are in the primary stages now. There will be a lots of ups and downs during the league in the coming months. The team who will be performing consistently can be the winners as we have seen in the previous seasons.
