I-League Round-13: Confident Rangdajied United Take On East Bengal.

RUFC PRESS RELEASE : It was a historic day for Rangdajied United last Sunday, as the Men in Blue from Shillong registered their first ever win in the I-League, beating Mohun Bagan by two goals to nil at the Yuva Bharati Krirangan. With the three points helping Rangdajied move out from the bottom of the table, they will now shift their attention to their home clash against title favorites East Bengal.

The Blues have had a string of positive results in the last few weeks, picking up 6 points from the last four games, with three draws and a win. The win over Bagan has certainly given the Rangdajied players' morale a huge lift, and the Blues will hope to pick up their first home league win when they take on Kolkata giants East Bengal, this coming Saturday.

Subrata Paul was the star performer during Rangdajied's 2-0 win over Bagan last Sunday. The India International made some crucial saves to deny the hosts a chance of coming out of the game with at least a point. With East Bengal boasting of one of the strongest frontlines in the I-League, Paul will again need to be in top-form to keep out the Red-and-Golds.

Gouramangi Singh, Lamine Tamba, Thomas Saikhom, Pratik Chowdhary, Bhola Prasad and Munmun Lugun are all fit, and will hope to be part of Santosh Kashyap's backline against East Bengal. The back four's performance against the visitors' formidable attack promises to have a crucial say on the final score.

In midfield, Yohei Iwasaki, Eugeneson Lyngdoh, Tomba Singh, Bansharai Sun, Restomwell Khriam, Joychandra Singh and David Nghaite are all available, and against the Kolkata giants, Santosh Kashyap will be hoping for another top performance from the boys at the middle of the pitch.

New signings Kim-Song Yong and Manandeep Singh should start up front for the Blues, although Rangdajied are not short of options up front, with Lalnunpuia, Edmar, Joy Kharraswai and Sandesh Gadkari all hoping to feature in the game at some point of time.

With East Bengal looking to get their title challenge going, and Rangdajied hoping to build on their win against Mohun Bagan, it will be interesting to see how things unfold when the two sides clash against each other at the Polo Ground in Shillong on Saturday. The mood in the Rangdajied camp has been highly positive in recent weeks, and Santosh Kashyap will try to make sure that his boys take advantage of this rich vein of form and pick up a positive result against the visitors on Saturday.

I-League Round 13: Mohun BAgan to face United SC at YBK.

Mohun Bagan will face the United sports Club in an important Ileague match at Kolkata tomorrow. United Sports are now ranked fifth and are among the top seeded team in the I league while Mohun Bagan are still in an uncomfortable position and are ranked tenth from the eleven outings.

The Mohun Bagan officials are in a series of discussion with an aim to motivate the footballers. The fact is that the Bagan officials failed to build up a strong team which can compete for the championship. Chibojor Chistofer has been recruited in place of Erik Muranda.

Christofer is a known face in Kolkata played for Lazong, Kalighat MS and Peerless who scored goals against East Bengal and Mohun Bagan in the current IFA CFL PREMIER LEAGUE. It is likely that Karim Bensharifa will include this Nigerian along with Odafa in the first line up in tomorrow evening. In fact the Mariners should perform as a unit rather than individualbrilliance in order to be successful. The goal machine Odafa Okilie is yet to regain his form as the Mariners attack mostly depends on this Nigerian.

On the contrary United Sports Club are now with seventeen points, although they are having a good chance to elevate further if they can earn full points on Friday evening. The inclusion of Lalkamal Bhowmick in the United lineup will be an advantage in United attack. So far it has been observed that Elco Satorie has been successful to build up the team as a combined unit.

Even the team has equalized and came back in the game strongly even against the strong contenders like Churchill Brothers, East Bengal and Pune FC. The prime target for Karim Bensharifa is to earn points which is required for survival. United Sports, who are still facing the financial crunch will be in search points so that they can climb the ladder and advance further for the magical figure. In IFA CFL PRemier League the match between the two ended goalless.

I-League Round 13: Shillong Lajong FC vs Salgaocar FC.

SLFC PRESS RELEASE : Shillong Lajong FC will take on Salgaocar FC in the 13th round of matches in the I-League on 6th, December 2013 at the J.N.Stadium, Shillong at 5: 00 PM.

Shillong Lajong FC are going into tomorrow's game against the Goan side with a couple of draws and a loss away to table topers Bengaluru FC. Speaking in a pre-match press conference, Lajong coach Thangboi Singto said," We have put the Bangalore match behind us. We have not done well at home but we will look for a good result tomorrow.”

Shillong Lajong FC are facing a pressurizing statistic as they have never won against Salgaocar FC in the past but based on their performances this season and their vociferous supporters they might just end their jinx. There are some concerns for Lajong as fiery striker Uilliams Souza Silva's availability will be assessed tomorrow. Uilliams only played one half against Bengaluru FC in their previous game away from home and has been carrying a minor injury since.

Salgaocar FC are not riding in their best momentum as well with two consecutive defeats to Bengaluru FC and their local Goan rivals Sporting Club de Goa. Disciplinary actions also added to their woes as the All India Football Federation (AIFF) decided to dock 6 points out of Salgaocar FC's kitty. This action was taken when the Goan side fielded Mathew Foschini and Fulgancio Cardozo, who were not eligible to participate in the ties against Bengaluru FC and Pune FC as necessary player registration formalities hadn't been cleared in total.

Commenting on the situation Derrick Perreira said, "There is no pressure and we have been in this type of a situation before." Their backline was also questioned in the previous game against Sporting Club de Goa and Perreira added," There are problems at the back and there will obviously be a change in defense."

Meanwhile, French striker Claude Gnakpa has been released by the club. It may be noted that Gnakpa performed particularly well in their previous visit to Shillong as he grabbed a goal that helped his side draw against Rangdajied United FC. Perreira said," His performance was hampered by injury earlier in the season and so was released as he did not fall into my scheme of play".

I-League Round 13: Bengaluru FC focused on Churchill test.

BFC PRESS RELEASE : Bengaluru FC return to Goa for a second time in 10 days when they take on bottom-placed Churchill Brothers at the Duler Stadium, in Mapusa, on Friday. While Ashley Westwood’s young squad are riding high after consecutive wins against Salgaocar and Shillong, Churchill Brothers come into this fixture on the back of a 3-2 win - their first full points from a game this season - over Sporting Clube de Goa last week.

Playing an unfamiliar role of League anchors, Churchill Brothers can be a dangerous side in their search for a turnaround and Bengaluru are well aware of this. "This is our second trip to Goa in ten days, the climate is not the easiest and there’s the added toughness of playing Churchill who have turned their form around and will surely prove tough opponents," said Westwood.

The Blues are in the middle of a key run that has them play four games in the next 15 days and Westwood wants to make sure his team sees no slip ups this year. "We are in good form ourselves but it’s important that the lads remain hungry and focused."

Skipper Sunil Chhetri would be keen to build on his brush with form as he comes up against his former club with which he won the League last season while fellow striker Robin Singh's work rate has been impressive in the last two games he has started. Strengthening Bengaluru FC's potent strike force is the return of club top scorer Sean Rooney who has recovered completely from the calf strain that kept him out of the Salgaocar game.

Churchill will take field knowing that they can’t afford any more slip ups as most teams have found their feet in the League. The foreigner department has been re-jigged completely and the champions wouldn’t want to waste the chance to build on an important victory last week.
