Rangdajied United outplayed Mohun Bagan in an important I league match at Shillong and registered a 3-1 victory. Rangdajied got a lifeline but the Mariners are in deep trouble as they are on the ninth position after their 20th round.

Rangdajied were in full command of the match right from the beginning. At the first phase of the I league this team from the north east were struggling for their existence. But the inclusion of Ranty Martins and the Korean midfeilder Kim Song Yong has change the complextion of the team.

Rangdajied got their third consecutive win today after defeating United Sports (4-0) and the League leaders Bangaluru FC (3-2). Mohan Bagan had some moves in the match but Odafa and Christofer were well controlled by the Rangdajied deep defense and hardly could open the goal mouth except in the 38th minute when Odafa scored following a pass from Christofer against the run of play.

Rngdajied United almost bagged the match just before the breather when they took the 3-1 lead. The Mariners deep defense had no answer against the speedy attack of the Rangdajied midfeild. Kim and Eugeneson Lyngdoh are the speer head of the attack and the Nigerian goal machine Ranty Matins did the damage in the striking zone. Tomba, Kim and Ranty converted in Randajied's favour within a span of fifteen minutes utilising the defesing lapse of the Mariners.

Rangdajied are now in the eight position in the league table with 21 points from their nineteen matches

Mumbai FC came from a goal down to play out a 1-1 draw with Sporting Clube de Goa in an I-League Round-21 encounter at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Fatorda, Goa on Saturday. Striker Boima Karpeh (19th minute) put the hosts ahead in the first half with a penalty kick conversion before striker Yusif Yakubu (56th) equalised for Mumbai FC in the second half.

The draw was Mumbai FCís eleventh this season and the point earned saw them stay tenth in the table with 20 points in 19 games. It was Mumbai FC who went close initially with striker Mohammad Rafi shooting straight into the keeper after running into space in the 5th minute.

Post a few attempts on goal, Sporting were awarded a penalty couple minutes past the quarter hour mark after keeper Kunal Sawant fouled Karpeh inside the box. The Australian striker stepped up and converted from the spot to put the hosts one up.

Soaking pressure for majority of the first half, Mumbai FC almost equalised in the first half injury time. Yakubu controlled a long ball inside the box before laying off for medio Climax Lawrence on the edge of the box. However, the former India-internationalís curling attempt was saved by custodian Melroy Fernandes with an outstretched dive as Sporting took their one goal lead into the break.

The second half was a different story as Mumbai FC began dominating proceedings and pulled level ten minutes after restart.Capitalising on a stray ball inside the box off a corner, Yakubu pushed the ball goalwards. However, the attempt was blocked on the goalline by the Sporting defense. But the Ghanaian made no mistake tapping home from close on the rebound.

The goal gave Mumbai FC confidence and they created two more chances in succession. However, attempts on the volley by both, Yakubu and Rafi, sailed wide. At the other end, Sawant kept Mumbai FC in the game with a few saves from close range. The remainder of the half saw both teams battling out in the midfield as the game ended 1-1.
