USC PRESS RELEASE : A last minute goal from the travellers denied United SC a hard fought win against Mumbai FC in what was Subrata Bhattacharya's first match in charge on today in a round 17 I-League match at Kalyani.Eric Brown gave home side the lead in the dying minutes (43) of the first half but Nicholas Rodrigues cancelled it out (91) for Khalid Jamil's men.

It was the home side who started better and their first chance came in the 13th minute. Brown's chip inside the box saw Mohamed Rafique head it wide when it would have made sense to leave it for Waheed who was unmarked. The best chance came midway through the first session. K.Asif sent a through-ball for Rafique but the latter could only lob it over the custodian.

In the 73rd minute, Mohammed Rafi missed a chance to equalize with an open net in front of him. Nicholas Rodrigues' corner-kick saw goalkeeper Sangram Mukherjee miss the flight of the ball altogether. The ball came at Rafi's feet whose effort went over the bar, much to the amazement of his team-mates.

In the injury time, Yakubu was fouled outside the United box and the eventual free-kick by Rodrigues didn't give Sangram Mukherjee any chance whatsoever and restored parity for the away side. United SC didn't have a chance to muster another attack and the scoreline remained the same until the final whistle. After today's match United SC spotted on the 8th position of the table with 19 points. After the match United SC T.D Subrata Bhattacharya said: "It's not a bad day so far for us, we earn one point but this is the match for us, where we lost full points.Hope we will earn full points from the next match".
