16.01.2015: AIFF PRESS RELEASE : Hero Motocorp Ltd, the world's largest two-wheeler manufacturer, has signed a three-year contract to be the Title Sponsors for the I-League. Hero has always been in the forefront insupport of promoting sports globally, and this sponsorship is in line with this endeavor.

The Hero I-League is scheduled to kick off on January 17, 2015. The first match will be played between Salgaocar FC and Pune FC at 4.30 pm at the Fatorda Stadium, Goa; and between the defending champions Bengaluru FC and Dempo SC at 7 pm on the same day, at the Kanteerva Stadium, Bengaluru.

The Hero I-League trophy was unveiled here today in the presence of the captain of Bengaluru FC Sunil Chhetri, captain of Dempo SC Clifford Miranda, Mr. Kushal Das, General Secretary, Mr. AR Khaleel, Chairman Hero I-League andMr. Sunando Dhar, CEO, Hero I-League. It was announced that the 'Hero of the I-League' will receive a prize money of Rs.2,00,000/-. The 'Hero Goalkeeper of the I-League' and the 'Hero Defender of the I-League' will be awarded Rs. 25,000/- each and, the ‘Hero of the Match will get a sum of Rs. 10,000/- as prize money.

The battle for the coveted ‘Hero I-League Trophy' will be between Bengaluru FC, Bharat FC, Dempo SC, East Bengal Club, Mohun Bagan, Mumbai FC, Pune FC, Royal Wahingdoh, Salgaocar FC, Shillong Lajong FC & Sporting Clube de Goa. Mr. Pawan Munjal, Vice Chairman, Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer, Hero MotoCorp Ltd, said, "Football is not just the world's most popular game, it has today become a phenomenon sweeping across continents. Like every other part of the world, India is also in the grip of this magic called football as millions of youngsters across the country are taking to the game with enthusiasm.

Having been the Title Sponsor of the Hero Indian Super League and the Federation Cup, we are now taking the next logical step of becoming the Title Sponsor of the much-followed I-League. The current one will be the eighth edition of the I-League, with 11 teams on Board. Goan heavyweights Dempo SC have won the title five times. The defending champions Bengaluru FC have created history by laying their nascent hands on the trophy in their very first year and season.

Hero I-League Seminar Takes Place At AIFF HQ in Delhi

14.01.2015- AIFF press release : The seminar for the Local General Coordinators and the Media Officers of the 11 Hero I-League Clubs was held at the AIFF Headquarters in Football House, New Delhi, on January 14, 2015.

The main objective of the seminar was to highlight the roles and responsibilities of the LGC's and the CMO's, as well as to give an idea of the various match day activities and operations to be conducted by the Clubs during the Hero I-League matches.

Sunando Dhar, CEO, Hero I-League, stated that the time for setting standards in the I-League was more than necessary now, and it was time to start implementing the guidelines. 'It is time to set and implement standards in the Hero I-League. We just concluded our AFC seminar on the same topic, and we would want to ensure that these measures are also taken by the I-League clubs.'

Dhar also spoke about the introduction of an exciting award from this season for the Clubs. "We are happy to announce that from this year onwards we'll be having a special award for the Best Organiser of the Hero I-League. The Club would be receiving a bounty of 5lakh.

"The Match Commissioner would be deciding the same, taking into account the several aspects of the club, and the team with the maximum points would be given the amount.' Ms Janice Lynrah, Media Manager, Shillong Lajong FC, attended the seminar and expressed that she was pleased to appear in the seminar.

"The seminar has been very beneficial and exciting for all the Clubs as a whole," she said. "It is a good way to educate each and every member of the clubs about the various aspects of conducting, and a smooth functioning of the I-League. "I personally am very thankful to AIFF for this initiative.'

The day began with a seminar on setting Integrity guidelines in the game, which was conducted by Javed Siraj, the Integrity Officer of the AIFF. "We have to ensure that the games are played with honesty, and it is necessary to brief the players and the referees about the various activites," Siraj told the gathering.

Akshay Rohatgi, Manager, Hero I-League, followed the next session explaining the Hero I-League regulations as well as various aspects of the game the Clubs must conform too. He explained the various Kit equipment Regulations of the AIFF, the Medical Services to be provided, the Disciplinary Regulations, and so on.

"LGC's are the future Match Commissioners" - that's how Sanjay Kumar, Manager, Competitions, started his speech as he conducted the next session on the role of LGCs and the match day operations in the game. Kumar, newly inducted as the Match Commissioner by the AFC, explained the Clubs at length about the match day activities, which are bound to begin atleast three days before the match and end atleast a day after the match ends.

Col. Goutam Kar (Retd), Director of the Referees Dept in AIFF, next spoke on the Refereeing and Other Technical Matters and Laws of the game. The Marketing matters of the Hero I-League were dwelt upon by Hoshedar Gundevia of the FSDL, who explained the role of Hero in the upcoming league.

The role of the Local Media Officers and the Media Operations were vastly explained by Debayan Mukherjee and the social media aspects of the Hero I-League were dealt upon by Sayantan, Media Coordinator, Hero I-League.

I-LEAGUE 2014-15 : A DYNAMIC MARKETING STRATEGY BY THE GOAN I-LEAGUE PLAYING CLUBS

I-League 2014-15 live update and score 13.01.2014: www.kolkatafootball.com team : It is indeed a great initiative of the I-league playing clubs of Goa. Dempo Sports Club, Salgaocar Sports Club and Sporting Clube De Goa to come forward and promote I-league 2014-15 with a specific strategy.

The main target of these clubs is to increase the number football fanatics at the Jawharlal Nehru Stadium during the I-league which will going to start from the 18th of January.

In a joint meeting of the Club owners, Shrinivas Dempo (Dempo Sports Club President), Shivanand Salgaocar (Salgaocar FC President), Peter Vaz (Sporting Clube de Goa President) along with Elvis Gomes, the President Goa Football Association, a marketing promotion plan for the I league being declared.

The promotion plan includes hoardings, cut out of the footballers, banners and leaflets and the easy availability of the match tickets. The highlights of the marketing plans are:

The players cut outs will be place in the traffic islands in the major cities of Goa. Road shows will be performed by the respective clubs before the day of the match and also on the match day.


  • Banners of the I league will be displayed all along Goa including the villages.


  • Ticket of the matches will be available well in advance in various outlets of major towns and villages, stadium box offices which will be branded with the I league signage.


  • The prices of the tickets are quite economical and is affordable by all. The prices of the North , South and East Stands of Jawharlal Nehru Stadium are only Rs 50, while the West stands tickets are priced at Rs 100. There will be arrangement for tickets in the Air Conditioned hospitality boxes.


  • The captains and coaches of Dempo [Clifford Miranda and Arthur Papas], Salgaokar [Rocus Lamare and Derrick Pereira] and Sporting Clube [Anthony Wolfe and Mathew Costa] were present in the joint meeting.

    Mockery of Justice is now a continuous phenomenon in Mohun Bagan: Bhowmick

    Subhas Bhowmick Press Meet 14.01.2015 : The former footballer and one of the successful coach of India Subash Bhowmick today alleged against the recent activities of Mohun Bagan from where he was released from the position of Technical Director recently.

    Bhowmick says that he was not against the institution Mohun Bagan where he had a long association as a footballer as well as coach or Technical Director. Subash Bhowmick had mailed regarding the current issues which had gone against him but he is yet to receive any answer.

    The former footballer and coach is now in a mood to solve the issue legally for which he is opting the legal advices. Talking to media in Kolkata today Subash Bhowmick said that he apologizes to the lacks of Mohun Bagan supporters and members who really love and respect the institution. In the Press Conference today Bhowmick released a Press note regarding the issues .
