SALGOACAR OUT RAILED EAST BENGAL AT GOA

Salgaocar Sports Club of Goa registered an important win against the Kolkata outfit East Bengal by a margin of 3-1 in an important match at Goa today. With this win Salgaokar climbs up to the third position with eight points from five matches, whereas East Bengal came down fifth position of the League table with seven points from four matches.

This is the second consecutive victory of Salgaokar after winning against Sporting Clube. The Goan side utilized the defensive gaps in the Red and Gold central defense and convert the opportunities. The East Bengal deep defense were rather a mere spectator and hardly had any answer against the team combination of Salgaokar and individual brilliance of Dariel Duffy and Douhou Pierre. East Bengal are playing their second tournament after a set back at the Federation Cup. But the team combination and the cohesion between the departments are totally lacking. Even the footballers are not fit enough to play a ninety minutes football match.

Salgaocar made it 2-0 at the stroke of half time. Gilbert Oliveira essayed a ball from the left and Duffy was on hand to beat his marker Milan Susak before picking out the top corner of the goal. Salgaocar who enhanced their lead in the 65th minute after a faulty clearance from Gurwinder Singh landed nicely at the feet of Brian, who found the mark with an angular left-footer. Dudu reduced the margin for East Bengal when he scored at the 76th minute of the match.
