SFC PRESS RELEASE : The Greens will take on the Flaming Oranje for the upcoming Hero I-League round’s exciting Goan Derby to be held at the PJN Stadium in Fatorda on Thursday. Salgaocar come into this fixture after a gap of 10 days before which they picked up their season’s 1st point against Aizawl FC. Sporting come riding in on a high, after they handed Bengaluru FC with their 2nd defeat for the season at the latter’s home.

The Salgaocar FC head coach Santosh Kashyap Is focusing on an ‘attitude make-over’ for his camp. When he was asked about how is the morale of the team; he had this to say “The right attitude is what matters, I have asked the players to keep a positive attitude rest will follow.”

The Green’s coach went on to add “I keep changing formations, every opponent is different and we need to adapt as per the available squad.” Salgaocar have had a notable injury problem with most of their foreign strength unavailable for the games thus far.

The Sporting Gaffer Mateus Costa looked confident as he said “We had a good match against Bengaluru FC and we are looking forward to carry the same form into this match.” When he was questioned about the depth of his squad he said “We have a lot of young talented Goan boys who are waiting to break into the first team. They have shown good improvement in training and we are enjoying the competition.” He did have a word of caution for his team “But we are not taking it lightly, every match is different and every set of opponent have different tactics. Salgaocar FC is a good side with some fine players”

Sporting has one major thing going for them as they head into the derby; the full foreign strength will available for the picking. But however one worry would be the defender Ravanan, who was sent off with a red card at Kanteerava. The game will kick-off live at 07:05 PM & will also be telecasted live on Ten Action.
