DSK Shivajians FC signs North Korean International striker Kim Song-Yong 29.08.2016 DSK PRESS RELEASE : DSK Shivajians Football Club is delighted to announce the signing of striker Kim Song Yong for the forthcoming season. The former North Korean International, who has vast experience of playing in India, joins the club on a two-year deal. Kim is the third foreign signing of Pune-based DSK Shivajians FC for this season after Spaniard Juan Quero and Irishman Shane McFaul.

The striker has been playing in India since 2013 when he joined Rangdajied United FC from Thailand Premier Club side Nakhon Ratchasima. He scored four goals in 13 outings during his first season in the country. Kim then moved to the newly-promoted Royal Wahingdoh for the 2014-15 season and netted five times in 19 appearances to help the club finish third in the I-League.

In 2015, he signed for the current I-League champions Bengaluru FC, where he found the back of the net four times in their campaign en route the title. Dave Rogers, DSK Shivajians FC Manager, talking about the new signing, said: “I saw Kim play regularly last season for Bengaluru FC, and I've always been very impressed with his performances. As a No. 9, I feel, he is the best in the I-League. A man of his experience and quality will only add strength and flexibility to the squad I'm building here.”

Kim was born and raised in Japan, however, chose to play his international football for North Korea. He was a part of North Korea’s 2010 AFC Challenge Cup squad and has represented his country at the senior level on three occasions. Since 2007, he was a constant fixture in North Korea’s Under-23 squad before being called up to the senior side.

The I-League champions also added to the squad by signing familiar faces in defender Vishal Kumar and midfielder Darren Caldeira on short-term deals.

A regular in the India under-19 squad between 2014-15, Gursimrat spent five years at the Chandigarh Football Academy before being drafted into the AIFF Regional Academy in Navi Mumbai from where he went on to represent the country. He was also part of the AIFF squad that won the Under-19 I-League in 2015. “I am thrilled that I have signed my first professional contract with the best club in India. I am looking forward to learning and growing every day. This is a big chance for me early in my career and I am focused on making the most of it,” said Singh, who hails from Ludhiana.

Gursimrat was part of the SAFF Cup-winning India side of 2015 and also represented the country in the Under-19 AFC Championship in Palestine in the same year. Caldeira, a Bengaluru player from 2013-2015, makes a return to the Blues after spending last season with Mumbai FC. Meanwhile local lad Vishal penned an extended deal after his three-year contract with the Blues ran out earlier in May.

Bengaluru head coach Albert Roca said the side could do with the new additions given the big AFC Cup game is less than a month away. “The club’s philosophy is to give young talent a stage and I believe that’s exactly what Gursimrat has got. He is talented, works hard and wants to keep improving which is a good sign for anyone taking the professional path. It’s also good to have Vishal and Darren back with the team. They have been with the club before but are working hard to bring value add to the squad which is what we need ahead of the AFC Cup tie,” he said.

Bidemi is a famous name in Nigerian Football fraternity playing in Kolkata. He has played for many Kolkata based Clubs such as Chirag United, Mohammedan SC, Calcutta Port Trust, Tollygunge Agragami and Police Athletic Club since his arrival in 2008 in India. He also have had a sound experience of playing in the I-League in 2009-10 playing for Shillong Lajog FC and also in 2nd Division I-League where he turned for teams like United Sikkim FC and Langsning FC respectively.

His most notable performance was in 2009-10 I- League wherein scored the winner for Shillong Lajong against East Bengal in the 89th minute of the match and was adjudged the Man of the Match. Before joining United Sikkim FC he had brief spell with I-League Club Sporting Club De Goa in 2011. He is considered to be one of the most utility player in Indian football circuit.

He played a pivotal role in promotion of United Sikkim FC to I-League 2012-13. In the Final Round of the 2nd Division I-League he scored a brace in the 3–2 win over Vasco S.C., and again against ONGC. On 15 March 2012 he scored against Kalighat Milan Sangha F.C. to equalize. He was again on the score sheet in 2-0 win against Royal Wahingdoh F.C and Aizawl F.C. (4–2 win) respectively. He converted the all-important spot kick against Mohammedan to secure the 1–1 draw, and earn promotion for United Sikkim to the 2012-13 I-League.

Earlier today at IFA OFFICE Mohun Bagan has signed Mr. Haroon Amiri for the Calcutta Football League 2016. Amiri underwent his physical fitness under the watchful eyes of Mohun Bagan Physical Trainer Mr. Djair De Miranda Garcia on 15th August 2016. Today he had a full training session under Head Coach Mr. Sakarlal Chakraborty.

The Afghan born shot stopper had earned his name in Indian football by displaying his skills in I-League for Mumbai FC when he joined them in 2011. He went to win the FPAI Fan's Player of the year award for his superb performance in 2012-13 I-League season. He also played for Dempo SC in 2014-15 season and during his time with Dempo he was loan to ISL Franchise Team FC Goa where had an opportunity to train under Brazillian Legend Zico. Last season Amiri was part of DSK Shivajians the newly promoted I-League team and had a decent season.

DSK Shivajians FC Sign Former Irish Youth International Shane McFaul 17.08.2016 : DSK Press Release : DSK Shivajians Football Club is delighted to confirm the signing of former Irish youth international Shane McFaul for a two-year term (2016-18). The midfielder joins the Pune-based squad after plying his trade in England, United States of America, Finland and Ireland.

His playing career so far has been decorated with two major honours with Irish sides. The first being an FAI Cup winner with Sporting Fingal (2009), followed by the League of Ireland Premier Division title with Dublin-based St. Patrick’s Athletic FC in 2013.

Other teams Shane has represented during his career include; Notts County and Brighton & Hove Albion FC in England and Finland Premier League sides FC KTP (Kotkan Työväen Palloilijat) and FC Haka. For the record, Shane has been capped numerous times as a youth player at various levels (Under 14 to 21) for the Republic of Ireland. The 30-year-old is a ball-winning midfielder who is equally adept distribution and thus, becomes the second foreign player to be signed by DSK Shivajians FC for the season ahead. Earlier, the club renewed the contract of Spaniard winger Juan Quero.

The central midfielder began his career playing local club football in Ireland when he caught the eye of League One side Notts County, and was promoted to the senior squad in 2002 at the age of 16. In 2005, he moved to American side Virginia Beach Mariners, where he spent a year, before signing for UCD Dublin. In January 2008, he signed for Brighton and Hove Albion FC where he made his debut in a 3-0 victory over Crewe Alexandra.

Later that year, he sealed a move back to UCD Dublin before moving to Sporting Fingal for the 2009-10 season. He then moved to St. Patrick’s Athletic FC in 2011. In 2012, he had a successful stint in Finland with FC Haka which led to St Patick’s Athletic FC bringing him back for another season. In 2014, he signed for FC KTP in Finland and captained the side in 2016 and played a major part in their promotion-winning campaign, before turning his eyes to the Indian subcontinent and landing a contract at DSK Shivajians FC.

The winger, who was instrumental in the club’s debut I-League season, returns to the Pune-based squad for the season ahead.

The former Read Madrid youth player joined DSK Shivajians FC back in February 2016. His inclusion made a strong impact in the team’s performance, which led to the management In Quero’s first season in the Indian subcontinent, at DSK Shivajians FC, Quero started 10 matches, scored three goals apart from creating three more.

Quero’s brace against Mohun Bagan in an away match at the Barasat Stadium, Kolkata, which helped the club earn a 3-3 draw, was the highlight of his impressive performance in the DSK. Quero started his professional playing career in Spain with Santa Ana following his stint at Real Madrid youth team. He then moved to Alcorcon in the third division where he plied his trade till 2007.

In 2007, he moved to Numancia, where he helped the team to gain promotion to the La Liga. His debut came against Real Madrid in a 3-2 loss at the Bernabeu. In 2009, he moved to RayoVallecano, where he played for three years before moving to Dubai Club.

He last played for Amercian side Rayo OKC.

The duo complete Bengaluru’s set of four foreigners after the club announced it had signed Australian midfielder Cameron Watson on Saturday. Watson, Rubio and Gonzalez arrived in the city on Sunday and took part in a session with the team on Monday morning.

While Gonzalez has signed a contract that keeps him with the Blues till the end of the season, Rubio’s term lasts till the end of the year.

“I am happy to have signed for Bengaluru FC. We trained with the team today and everyone is very welcoming. The aim is to try and understand the systems as soon as possible and I would like to use my experience to help the team to success,” said Rubio who also has appearances for the Spanish national U-20 and U-21 sides.

The twenty-nine-year-old who spent five seasons with Australian A-League side Adelaide United before turning out for Newcastle Jets last season, joins the Blues on a deal that keeps him at Bengaluru till the end of the 2016-17 season.

Watson, who fulfils the Asian player criteria, becomes the second foreigner to sign for Bengaluru after defender Johnson penned a two-year extension at the end of last season.

The Australian, whose stints include a season with the youth and reserve teams of Portuguese giants FC Porto, said he was delighted with his move to Bengaluru. “I’ve spoken to a few people and heard good things about the League. I’ve even had a word with former Bengaluru player Sean Rooney who had a lot of nice things to say about the club and I’m really looking forward to joining the team as soon as possible. I’ve been training with a local club here and keeping as fit as possible. There’s a big AFC Cup game coming up and the sooner I get there, the better,” said Watson.

Cameron hails from Melbourne and has also had appearances for the U-17 and U-20 sides of the Australian national team. Watson comes with oodles of experience having made more than 200 appearances in the A-League and has also played in the AFC Champions League with Adelaide in 2012.

A midfielder with an impressive work-rate and one who seamlessly switches between helping out in defence and attack, coach Albert Roca felt that Watson’s addition would be vital to the Blues’ plans for the season. “Cameron is a good player in a position that’s very important to the team. He has a good background playing in Australia which I think is an impressive League in terms of standard and his presence would help us grow,” said the Spaniard.

Barry joins Dave Rogers’ backroom staff, which will oversee the first team for all forthcoming tournaments and the I-League. DSK Shivajians Appoint Barry Knowles as Assistant Manager The Englishman brings with him a wealth of coaching experience. His last job was at Pune-based Bharat FC, as Technical Director and assisted the club’s First Team in their maiden season in the I-League (2014-15).

Barry’s vast experience as a youth development coach spans across a host of English clubs which include Everton FC, Wigan Athletic, and Blackpool FC. He joined Wigan Athletic after two years of youth development at Everton FC. In 2000, he then was appointed as the Head of Youth Development at Blackpool FC where he re-structured the club’s youth policy.

Following his successful stint at Blackpool FC, the Englishman was recruited by The Football Association (The FA) as their Talent Identification Head, where he also oversaw the development of players. Following his stint at the FA, Barry worked as a player and team profiler for Sheffield Wednesday, a Football League Championship club. The Englishman then moved to the Indian sub continent and joined Bharat FC.
