SCOTTISH STRIKER DARREL DUFFY JOINS THE MARINERS, EAST BENGAL'S EYE TO DEFENDER SANDESH

23.06.2016: The Scottish striker Darrel Duffy will join Mohun Bagan in the forth coming season. The Scottish striker played for Salgaocar SC, became the second best scorer after Ranty Martins. He scored 11 goals in the recently concluded I League 2015-16 for Salgaocar.

Duffy signed for Indian club Salgaocar in 2013-14 I-League season where he scored the winner on his debut match for Salgaocar (1-0) over Churchill Brothers. On 2 September 2015, he signed for Indian Super League franchise FC Goa on loan till the end of the season.

He once played for Engsish League team Rangers, Hull city, Swansea City, Bristol Town etc.

Sources said the deal with Darrel Duffy are almost confirm. Duffy will join the pre season practice of Mohun Bagan from the 6th of July.

Meanwhile Sandesh Jhingan the central defender are in the rader of East Bengal. Sandesh was a player of United Sikkim in 2012-13 season of I-League. He moved to Mumbai FC in 2013-14 Season of I-League. Defender Sandesh played for Sporting Clube De Goa in I- League 2014-15 and ISL team Kerala Blasters in 2015 season. Last he played in the I-League 2015-16 for DSK Shivajians as a loanplayer but he would not start a match for DSK until March due to an injury. He made just 7 appearances for the team while DSK last place in the 2015-16 I-League table.

East Bengal are in search of a good central defender along with Arnab Mondal. It is likely that the deal will be finalize shortly.

RICHARD DRYDEN WILL JOIN EAST BENGAL AS ASSISTANT COACH

21.06.2016: Richard Dryden, will going to join East Bengal as the assistant coach. He will assist the chief coach of East Bengal Trevor Morgan.

Dryden was appointed assistant manager of Tamworth in April 2004. In March 2007, Dryden signed for Shepshed Dynamo. In November 2007, he became manager of Conference North club Worcester City. He was subsequently appointed assistant manager at Darlington on 14 October 2011. Dryden was appointed as York City's head of youth team coaching in July 2012, working alongside youth team coach Steve Torpey. He was deputed as the care taker coach of Notts County F.C, a team play in League two in the fourth tier of the English football system in 2015-16. According to a reliable source, the name Richard Dryden as the assistant of East Bengal was finalized by Trevor Morgan.

He played in English League like Bristol Rovers, Manchester city, Stoke city, Barmingham city, Southampton FC, Notts county, Luton town etc.

East Bengal will going to start the pre season training from the second week of July. As the club ground is under renovation it is likely that the training session will be in a different ground. East Bengal ground may be Flood Lighted like Mohun Bagan ground and the process of working is in progress.

Santosh Kashyap joined Mumbai FC as chief coach in place of Khalid Jamil. Khalid Jamil had to resign from Mumbai FC as he failed to perform satisfactorily since last few years. Santosh Kashyap is an experienced coach managed Salgaocar FC in the recently concluded season.

SPORTING GOA MAY WITHDRAW FROM I LEAGUE?

21.06.2016: Sporting Clube could be the another football club who may withdraw their senior football team from the main stream of Indian football. According to a reliable source the Goan football club will not going to participate in I League in the upcoming season. Though the news is yet to be announced officially. If Sporting Goa quits from I League, it will be a real tragic for Indian football.

Recently, The All India Football Federation in a meeting with the I League playing clubs and ISL franchisee proposed for a three tier football system in India.AIFF focused ISL as the prime tournament in the country and introduction of Super Cup where the top teams from the lower divisions will play off against the lower-ranked ISL teams.

Sporting Goa showed their dissatisfaction and protest regarding the new proposed system in the meeting. The club Cidade de Goa (City of Goa) was purchased by Sporting's current owners and renamed Sporting Clube de Goa in 1999..Sporting entered the finals of 2005 Federation Cup, and emerged as the runner-up. In the following season, the club reached the finals once again, but lost in penalty shoot-out to Mohun Bagan. After getting relegated from the I-League in 2010 Sporting Goa participated in the 2011 I-League 2nd Division and won promotion by finishing in 2nd place.

JOHN JOHNSON SIGNS A TWO YEAR DEAL WITH BANGALURU FC JOHN JOHNSON SIGNS A TWO YEAR DEAL WITH BANGALURU FC

20.06.2016: Finally, Bangaluru FC wins the race. The defending I league champions signs a deal of two years with the British central defender John Johnson. Johnson are in the rader of East Bengal and Mohun Bagan. The officials of the Kolkata outfits had a series of discussion with Johnson. Even East Bengal's coach Trevor Morgan had a telephonic talk with John Johnson. Eventually the British central defender signs a two-year deal with Bangaluru FC which will be valid till the end of the 2017-18 season.This was announced by Bangaluru FC in an official Press note.

Johnson was associated with the Bangaluru outfit since last three years and was an important member of the team that won two I League tittles and Federation Cup.

SUBRATA BHATTACHARJEE JOINED UNITED SPORTS ROBIN AND DEEPAK JOINED EAST BENGAL WHILE SUBRATA BHATTACHARJEE JOINED UNITED SPORTS

19.06.2016 East Bengal signed the wing back of Mohammedan Sporting Club Deepak Kumar and Shillong Lajong FC's central defender Robin Gurung for the forth coming season. Deepak played from Mohun Bagan before he joined Mohammedan Sporting. Robin Gurung was an important member of North East United in the last edition of ISL. The inclusion of Robin Gurung will undoubtedly strengthen Red and Gold central defense .

Subrata Bhattacharjee,joined United Sports Club as chief coach. Subrata Bhattcharjee can be reckoned as one of the experienced coach of the country managed Mohun Bagan, United Sports and East Bengal successfully. He will join the practice of United Sports from 22nd of June.

Amrinder, Alwyn extend BFC deals Amrinder Singh, Alwyn George extend BFC deals

16.06.2016 : Bengaluru FC, on Thursday, announced that goalkeeper Amrinder Singh and Alwyn George had signed new one-year deals, which would keep them with the Blues until the end of the 2016-17 season. Amrinder, having joined Bengaluru at the beginning of 2016, makes his loan move from Pune FC permanent while the club has opted to activate the one-year extension clause on Alwyn’s contract.

Amrinder kept nine clean sheets on his way to winning the I-League’s Goalkeeper of the Year award, an accolade that the 22-year-old says played a huge part in his decision.

“I’m happy to have signed a new deal with Bengaluru FC. The progress that I’ve made as a goalkeeper at this club has helped me win the ‘I-League’s Best Goalkeeper and I’d like to thank the coaching staff, the management and the fans for all their support. I’m looking forward to another season with this club and scripting more history,” said Amrinder.

Midfielder Alwyn George, who signed from Dempo SC in the summer, has penned an extension on his current deal after a string of impressive performances; most notably in a 5-3 win against Ayeyawady United in the AFC Cup where he scored a brace.

12.6.16: Mohun Bagan retained goalkeeper Debjit Mazumdar, deep defenders Pritam Kotal and Souvik Ghose for yet another season. Debjit and Pritam had a series of discussion with East Bengal since last few weeks. But, finally decided to dawn the maroon and green jersey after a discussion with Mohun Bagan officials. Debjit and Pritam will join Mohun Bagan after the third edition of ISL as they signed for the Atletico De Kolkata for the forth coming season.

CHHETRI SIGNS FOR BANGALURU CHHETRI SIGNS FOR BANGALURU : JOHNSON ARE IN THE RADER OF KOLKATA GIANTS

08.06.2016: The Indian captain Sunil Chhetri signs one year deal with the defending champions of I League Bengaluru FC. This is Chhetri's third consecutive season with Bengaluru FC .

Chhetri finished top scorer for the club for the third successive season taking his tally to 35 goals he played for the I League champions. His brace against Kitchee FC in the AFC Cup Round-Of-16 game in Hong Kong last month sparked a comeback from a goal down as Bengaluru carved a bit of history to make it to the quarterfinal to be played in September.

Meanwhile the two arch rivals of Indian football East Bengal and Mohun Bagan are in a target to sign Bengaluru FC's central defender John Johnson.

Johnson is a free player now as his agreement with Bengaluru FC ends at the conclusion of the season. Sources said that Trevor Morgan,the British coach of East Bengal had a discussion with the central defender.Earlier , Mohun Bagan had a preliminary discussion with Johnson. It is expected Johnson will be the center of attraction in the transfer market.

MORGAN SIGNS, KHABRA TO SIGN IN BENGALURU

06.06.2016: The British coach Trevor James Morgan e-mailed the agreement of contract to East Bengal for the forth coming season. The agreement will last for a year which he signed after a prolonged and series of discussion with the club officials. This will be Trevor Morgan's second innings with Red and Gold after being a successful stint in his first spell. Morgan managed East Bengal in the Federation Cup after Biswajit Bhattacharjee resigned but failed to create any impact. The schedule of pre season training camp are yet to be finalize by East Bengal officials and Trevor Morgan.

Harmonjot Singh Khabra is all set to bid a goodbye to East Bengal after a long spell of seven years. Sources said that Khabra is likely to join Bangaluru FC as a loan player from Chenniyian FC after the third Indian Super League. Khabra was an important member of East Bengal since last seven years played a number of crucial matches in India and abroad.
