IMG-Reliance and Star India – the promoters of the League, today announced the fixtures for the much-anticipated inaugural edition, featuring eight clubs, 61 games spread across 70 days. The League stage will witness 56 games on home and away format, followed by a two-legged semi-finals and the final scheduled for 20th December 2014. All games will be played at 7:00 pm (IST), including the semi-finals and finals. On days of double headers, ie 9th and 10th December 2014, the first game will start at 5:00 pm (IST) followed by 7:00 pm (IST) game.

Delhi Dynamos FC will host the League’s second game when they play FC Pune City on 13th October 2014. The action will move to Guwahati on 15th October 2014 for the home match of NorthEast United FC against Kerala Blasters FC and then to Goa next day for FC Goa’s game against Club Chennai.

The maximum city Mumbai will see the first Hero ISL action on 17th October 2014 when Mumbai City FC will take on FC Pune City at DY Patil Stadium, New Mumbai. Club Chennai, FC Pune City and Kerala Blasters FC will host their first home matches on 19th October, 22nd October and 27th October 2014, respectively.

The semi-finals will start from 13th December 2014 with top four clubs qualifying for the knock-out stage to be played in a two-legged format with the winners moving onto the final. The Hero Indian Super League final would be played at a neutral venue on Saturday, December 20, 2014.

28th August 2014: The official logo of the Hero Indian Super League (ISL) was unveiled in Mumbai today. The logo launching programme was led by Nita Ambani, chairperson of the IMG-Reliance joint venture. The logo was introduced on a backdrop of a large model football.

The Domestic player Draft of the Hero Indian Super League ended in a city hotel at Mumbai today. Six out of the eight franchises took part in the inaugural ISL Drafting process, while the two franchises will going to retain their I league team . The tension and enthusiasm mounted high during the process of player’s drafting for the last two days.

Over Fifteen Players who have represented the Indian National Team in the last three years and 12 Players from various Indian age-group National sides were drafted by the Clubs on Day 2 of the Hero Indian Super League.

The selection of the international footballers will be finalized next month. The teams can select two footballers directly and the rest five footballers will be selected from the pool drafting.

ISL 2014 Indian player auction

:ISL : NAME OF 84 INDIAN FOOTBALLERS WHO WILL BE SELECTED BY SIX FRANCHISES.

19.07.2014: The eight franchises of the Hero Indian Super League will going to select and finalize their team at a meeting on and from 21st at Mumbai. The name of the 84 Indian footballer are in the panel from which the franchises will have to finalize their team. There will be 14 domestic footballers in each team. Six out of the Eight franchises have already finalized their team. The franchisee from Guwahati have selected their team from Shillong Lajong FC while the Goan franchises have selected their footballers from the I league playing club Dempo Sports Club.

A total of 84 footballers are in the pool and will be drafted by the six teams over 14 rounds. Goa and Guwahati will be announcing the names of their selected footballers, while the six teams are going to draft players. Seven additional players will be placed in the reserve pool if injury occurs during the course of the tournament. The teams reqires to select players only from the draft pool of 84 players and not from the reserve pool. It is expected that an amount of 20-25 crores will be required by the franchises during the drafting process as sources said that the prices of Subrata Paul, Gounrmangi Singh and Nirmal Chettri will go high during the drafting process.

The first day of the drafting will be on sequence selection. Apart from the Guwahati and Goa the names of the six teams will be placed in sealed envelopes visible to the representatives of all the teams present.

A group of designated team will finalize the envelopes one by one to determine the order in which the teams will select their players in each round. The team whose name is in the first envelope chosen will be allocated the letter 'A', the team whose name is in the second envelope chosen will be allocated the letter 'B',until all six teams participating in the draft process have been allocated a letter between 'A' and 'F'. The teams from Goa and Guwahati will automatically be allocated letter 'G' and 'H' as they have finalized their teams.

The franchises can select seven overseas footballers and a marque footballer which will be finalize on the 25th of July. The name of the 84 footballers are :

AIFF PRESS RELEASE: The Indian Super League (ISL) has entered into a strategic partnership with the English Premier League (EPL) – the World's most popular and successful Football League to bring its best practices to India under the exchange program.

The Co-operation Agreement between the Indian Super League, co-promoted by IMG-Reliance, the joint venture between IMG and Reliance Industries, Star India with support from All India Football Federation (AIFF) and the English Premier League will allow the ISL to leverage the league's expertise in nurturing and growing a high quality football competition.

16.08.2014: AIFF Media Team Press Release : Indian origin English Footballer Michael Chopra today (August 16) confirmed his participation for the inaugural season of Hero Indian Super League, expressing excitement of the home coming and the honour to be involved in the new era of Football in the Country.

"I am delighted to be part of the new Indian Super League. It's an exciting time for Indian football and an honour for me to be involved in this new era," said the former Newcastle United striker.

At 30, Chopra has amassed vast Footballing experience. A product of the Newcastle United Youth System - while he was just 10 – Chopra played for England at all age category competitions starting U-16. He also represented England at 2003 FIFA World Youth Championship. In his long and impressive career, Chopra has played for Sunderland, Cardiff City, Ipswich Town, Blackpool and has spent loan spells at Watford Nottingham Forest and Barnsley.

Chopra has made over 300 club appearances at Senior level and scored 100 plus goals in his impressive playing career. Chopra, in year 2010 had expressed his interest to play for Indian National Team, but that remained just a dream. 29.08.2014 : It will be a great news for Indian Football. The ISL franchisee Chennai Titans are in negotiation with the Brazilian Super Star Ranaldhino as their marquee player ,though the deal are yet to be finalized. The Chennai Titans which is owed by the Bollywood star Abhishek Bachchan are planning to sign Ronaldhino with a two years contract. The discussion are in progress with Ronaldhino's brother Roberto de Assis, who virtually is his agent to finalize the deal. Sources said that the Brazilian superstar are interested on a short term deal as he may join the USA’s MLS next year. If the deal is finalized then Ronaldhino will come to India to sign the deal officially. Ronaldhino is the member of the Brazil national team that won the FIFA world Cup in 2002, and FIFA Player of the Year for two times.

18.08.2014: ISL OFFICIAL PRESS RELEASE : Indian Super League, promoted by IMG-Reliance and Star India, today announced the complete list of 49 international players to go into the next week's 'central player draft pool' to be held in Mumbai on 2st August 2014.

The comprehensive list boasts of experienced footballers and young promising talents from across the world with an average age of 28 years, having played 8197 competitive matches in various leagues globally with an average of 186 appearances per player.

The 49 international players represent countries like Spain (9 players), France (8), Czech Republic (8), Brazil (5), Portugal (5), Colombia (4), South Korea (2), and one each from Argentina, Canada, Serbia, Senegal, Burkina Faso, England, Greece and Cameroon.

Scouting of International players'for Hero Indian Super League was aimed at providing the opportunity for each club to fill in the key positions in their respective team. These international players will form the spine of each team’s line-up and bring in quality to raise the football standard in the country.
