Another Disappointing Draw for East Bengal in I-League .

East Bengal registered another disappointing draw in another I-League home match, this time against Sporting Club de Goa; the bottom team of the I-League table. Because of today’s draw the threat of relegation still remained on East Bengal.

KOLKATA TEAMS SHOULD GIVE MORE TIME TO THEIR COACHES: ARMANDO COLACO

Armando Colaco, the best coach of Indian football, in terms of performance asked supporters and officials of the Kolkata clubs as well as media to give time to their coaches. "I have seen when a Kolkata team loses 2-3 matches, immediately everybody wants to change the coach, as if that would solve all the problem. Sometimes officials change coach like changing their T-shirts," he said.

He considered himself lucky to be part of Dempo, he said. "I am lucky to be part of such a good club where Chairman has full faith on me and does not give any pressure when team loses. I know there are clubs in Goa and Kolkata where officials put lot of pressure on the players and coach after a negative result. We did not have a good start in this year's I league, but we did not panic. Chairman had full faith on us and I also had the same on my players."

When asked whether he consider himself unlucky not to get the chance of being coach of National team, he said, "May be AIFF don't consider myself fit for the post. I don't care. My main aim right now is to qualify for AFC Champions league. Whether I have performed consistently, you can judge better. Dempo has won 3 I leagues, we have won Federation Cups, Goa League and even qualified for AFC Cup semi final," Colaco said smiling.

Regarding fate of Kolkata football, he said, "I also used to look to Kolkata football for their quality of players and performance, but now things have really changed. The main reason I think is not giving proper time for the coach to settle down. People should be more patient here. See, we lost by 3 goals against Viva also, and now we have almost become Champions. Yesterday I saw East Bengal's AFC Cup match. When they lost by 0-4, tear came out of my eyes, because it was loss of an Indian team."

He criticize East Bengal coach and said, "What was the coach doing? Yesterday East Bengal played open football against a foreign team which is a completely wrong decision. They should have made their defence compact. Instead of winning local league matches, East Bengal should have been more focused in their AFC Cup matches. Last year Mohun Bagan also did not perform well and conceded many goals."

Regarding his players, he said, "If I stay as coach, I will try to keep all the players in my team. I don't want any new player. I have quite a few good local boys. In the I league, we played with two foreigners, even many matches Beto and Ranty were not there, the local players really played well." Indeed, Armando has to be given credit for giving new talent to Indian football.

He looked ecstatic when a reporter asked him about Sunil Chetry. "I am very happy that Sunil went to play abroad. I would like many more Indian players to try their luck outside India. From my team, I would like to see Peter Carvalho going for trials. They have a good future, if selected."

BARCA VS INTER : PROBABLE TEAMS IN 2ND LEG SEMI..

Italian Giant, Inter Milan have the advantage with the 3-1 win from 1st leg of Semi-Final held on last Tuesday but Barcelona will now be playing in front of home crowed. The winner will advance to face Bayern Munich in the final in 22nd May at Madrid, Spain.

There are a few injury concerns Barcelona including Andres Iniesta, Carlos Puyol, and Eric Abidal. Midfielder Wesley Sneijder won’t be a 100% but will be an important player for the visitors. Another impact player for Inter will be striker Samuel Eto’o who will be returning to his former team.

This match-up is worthy of a final and the two teams will be playing for the 4th time in this season’s Champions League. The two teams played each other twice in the group stage with a 0-0 draw the San Siro for 2-0 win for Barcelona at the Camp Nou.

It would be a different atmosphere in the second leg but Inter showed at Stamford Bridge they can get road wins. Barcelona will advance with a 2-0 win or any three goal margin. There’s no doubt they will play an aggressive style with the need to score several goals.

Key Players today

Barcelona have heavily relied on Lionel Messi to single handily overturn games in recent months as the Argentinian player is in sensational form.
Wesley Sneijder is the player to keep an eye for Inter Milan as the Dutch International has played a big role season.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic who is gaining a reputation for failing to perform in the big games and in the later stages of the Champions League did it again in the first leg as his performance was largely disappointing.

Samuel Eto has been scoring important and crucial goals during big matches including goals in 2 Champions League final.

Can Inter Milan hold Barcelona to less than a few goals on Wednesday night? it would be the first time the Italian club has appeared the Champions League final since 1972. For a big club like Inter, it is largely disappointing that a club of their stature have not appeared in the final for the past 38 years and Jose Mourinho is on the brink of doing so.

Barcelona : (4-3-3) Valdes; Alves, Pique, G Milito, Abidal; Busquets, Xavi, Keita; Messi, Ibrahimovic, Pedro.

Inter Milan : (4-3-3) Cesar; Maicon, Samuel, Lucio, Zanetti; Cambiasso, Motta, Sneijder; Eto'o, D Milito, Pandev.
