India Sr. Football team already started practice at Bangalore Stadium which is an artificial turf. The defendeing SAFF cup champions India just lost to Tajikistan 0-3 in a friendly match on 14th August now practice under coach Koeverman for the preparation of upcoming SAFF cup held in Nepal. India will face Pakistan on 1st Sept in the opening match of SAFF cup. India will play in Group A with host Nepal, Pakistan and Bangladesh.

In the yrar 1997, The Tournament held at Nepal where India won the Tournament under Syed Nayeemuddin beat Maldives 5-1 ( Ancheri, Vijayan -2, Baichung, Amit Das) in the final. The 6 times woner ( 1993, 1997, 1999, 2005, 2008, 2011) India last won the Cup in 2011 beat Afganistan 4-0.(Chhetri, Clifford, Jeje, Sushil singh). India have a hattrick chance of winning this year.

India is practicing now in the artificial turf but will be playing in the natural grass frield in the Nepal during the SAFF tournament. From India Squad Karma T and Md Rafiq will not travell with the team as they have no passport. The current 28 men squad is practicing in the Bangalore Stadium. India Probable Team may be Sandip Nandy, Nirmal Chhetri, Gorumanfi Singh, Raju Gaikwad, Denzil Franco, Lenney Rodrigues, Mehtab Hossain, Francis Fernandez, Clifford Miranda, Robin Singh, Sunil Chhetri.

In this professional era football is often played for noble causes. An NGO in association with Bajoria Charitable Foundation is planning to organize a football match at the Vivekanda Yubabharati Kriangan in Kolkata, though the date is yet to be finalized. The match was first fixed on 10th of August, but due to some reasons the organizers had to defer the match.

The team All Star XI played against All Heart Football Club at Delhi on 30th March for a social cause of an NGO "Magic box", where they lost 1-3 in the match. Who played for the team? The players of All Star football club were Abhishek Bachchan (captain), Ranbir Kapoor, Leander Paes, Varun Dawan, Arjun Kapoor, Dino Morea, Sachin Joshi, Aditya Roy Kapoor, Shabir Ahluwalia, Karan Waha, Raj Kundra, Marc Robinson, Caesar Golsalves, Ritwik Bhattacharya, Amit Gaur, Amit Sadh, Romeo Gates, Mazhar Dalvi, Jignesh Antala, Rohan Shreshtha, Nishant Mehra, Jas Binag.


Now the match will be played between the All Star XI - the stars of Mumbai and the Celebrity Football Club (CFC) versus the stars of Kolkata. The main cause is to raise funds of the AIDS infected kids of Anandaghar which is run by the Bajoria Charitable Foundation. Probably the Celebrity Football Club will lead by eminent Bengali Film Star Prosenjit Chatterjee and mentored by another Bengali Mega Star and Football Fan Mithun Chakroborty while the All Stars Of Mumbai will lead by Abhishek Bacchan - who is also an avid Football Fan.

It has been learnt that the "Prince Of Kolkata", Saurav Ganguly is going to participate in the humanitarian football match. The other stars Jeet, Dev, Soham, Jishu Sengupta are likely to participate. The All Stars team comprises of stars from Bollywood.

The organizers are in search of a suitable sponsor to organize the match. Kolkata had witnessed some celebrity matches in the past even in other sports also.

AIFF PRESS RELEASE India's U-19 National Team defeated China U-17 Team 4-0 in a Friendly Match played at the Century Park Stadium, Shanghai on Saturday (August 17). The India U-19 boys scored all the goals in the first half.

Stopper-back Mohd. Sajid Dhot opened the scoring in the 18th minute only for Lalrempuia Fanai to double the lead in the 25th minute. The third goal was scored by Udanta Singh in the 35th minute while striker Daniel Lalhlimpuia completed the rout in the 42nd minute. The Indian U-19 boys being coached by Colm Joesph Toal play the same opposition in their next match on August 19.

The Tour to China is part of the Preparation for the AFC U-19 Qualifiers to be held in Doha in October 2013.
