AIR INDIA PLAYER SOCCOR VELHO DIED IN CARDIAC ATTACK, He was just 29...

Air India Footballer from Goa, Soccor Velho died On 22 June 2013. The 29 years old played 3 matches in 2012-13 I-League Season for his team Air India against Mohun Bagan, Dempo SC and United Sikkim. It has been learnt that the 29 years old player participated in a friendly match between Margao XI and the India U19 team in Goa. Velho played for Margao in that match and lasted the whole 90 minutes.

After the match Velho went home. According to current Salgaocar youth team coach, Joaquim Crasto, Soccor was completely fine after the game and went home normally. After he arrived home, according to current Dempo forward Joy Ferrao, Velho had dinner and a shower but then complained of feeling uneasy before having a heart attack. He died on his way to the hospital.

12.08.1989: 24 years old Nigerian world cupper Samuel Okwaraji Collapsed and died while playing against Angola in a World Cup Qualifier. An autopsy showed that he had an enlarged heart and high blood pressure.

26.06.2003: : Marc-Vivien Foe, a 28 Cameroon footballer Collapsed while playing in the 2003 FIFA Confederations Cup semi-final between Camerron and Colombia, and died shortly afterward in hospital. An autopsy later revealed the cause of death was hypertrophic cardiomyopathy.

05.12.2004: Brazilian player Cristiano Junior, a 24 year old Dempo Sports Club Striker Collided with Mohun Bagan goalkeeper Subrata Paul in the 78th minute of the Federation Cup finals while scoring his second goal. He staggered away, then collapsed. Attempts to revive him were unsuccessful and he was dead on arrival at HOSMATE Hospital, Bangalore.

29.12.2007 : 35 years old Motherwell captain Phil O'Donnell died after collapsing suffering a cardiac arrest towards the end of his side's Scottish Premier League game against Dundee United.

08.08.2009: 26 years old La Liga team Espanyol captain Daniel Jarque died after a cardiac arrest following club's training. The midfielder had been training in Coverciano, Italy, where his club's squad were on a preseason camp.

01.04.2012: Chris Ralph, 47, collapsed while playing for Chagford veterans against Topsham Town during the first-half of the Devon Veterans' County Cup final at Newton Abbot

14.04.2012 : 25 years old Piermario Morosini of Livorno FC, Italy collapsed during a Serie B game against Pescara. The cause of death was cardiac arrest.

5.08.2012 : 21 years old Chinonso Ihelwere Henry of Delta Tulcea collapsed during a friendly game against FC Balotesti in the 86th minute The cause was of his death was heart failure.

20.04.2013 : 23 years ofl Dominik Rupp of FSV Hemmersdorf collapsed during a Saarland liga game against Saar 05 Saarbrucken. The cause of death was cardiac arrest.

16.05.2013 : 31 years old Berat Sacipi of SV Inter Itzehoe collapsed during a Kreisklasse A Steinburg game against ABC Wesseln. The cause of death was cardiac arrest.

21.06.2013 : 23 years old Alen Pamic of NK Istra 1961 collapsed during a retreat game for MNK Maruzini, on a heart attack.
