PIFA PRESS RELEASE : Indian children "Lived their Dream", when they attended the PIFA Champions Tour to Barcelona. Mumbai based Premier India Football Academy (PIFA) organized their 30th Champions Tour from 15-25 May 2013 to Barcelona. This being their 10th year.

The camp was open to children between 10-18 years of all abilities. The camp is designed to develop children into better players, understand the diet & healthy habits of professional players, to understand the Spanish culture and to make new friends.

The participants were trained by Catalunya's UEFA licensed coach Antonio Sánchez, one of the most qualified technical professional from the Spanish Catalunya football youth academy and assisted by coach's Angel Di Maria and Angel Micah at the reputed Hristo Stoichkov Academy in Barcelona.

The players were trained tactically on the Barcelona and Spanish formation and explained the principles employed by Pep Guardiola during his time with FC Barcelona.

The children got a tour of Nou Camp and the museum, all were in awe of the silver ware especially the FIFA Golden Boot 1994 belonging to Barca legend Hristo Stoichkov and Messi's four FIFA Ballon d'Or.

The following night they watched FC Barcelona beat Real Valladolid 2-1 at Nou Camp. The match was followed by celebrations as FC Barcelona lifted the La Liga trophy for the 22nd time. The club captain Carles Puyol let the team manager Tito Vilanova and team mate Eric Abidal, who have both been battling cancer this season, to lift the trophy, this was followed by fireworks. '

This year the children also got to participate in the Pentecostes tournament held in the beach town of Lloret, in two age groups that was the U15 & U17. There were over 125 academy teams from all over Europe most of them being Germans that participated.

The players were awarded a medal each. All campers were awarded a camp certificate and a football. Talented campers have been invited to play for the PIFA teams. The next PIFA Champions Tour is to Barcelona on 18 June 2013.

Yesterday German Star Lukas Podolski scored one of the fastest goals in international football when he scored in 8 second against Ecuador in a friendly match. Germany won the match 4-2. Now some other other International fastest goals recorded so far including National football League of India.

    VSR from DEHRADUN : Uttarakhand Football Referee's association and Dehradun Football Academy has organised jointly a 10 days Football Coaching camp at Marshall School Sports Field, Jogiwala ( Vivekanand Gram ) Dehradun from today. From 30th May to 9th June the camp will be started for age groupe of 12 to 19 years old boys and girls. The training will start at 6.30 AM to 8.30 AM under Dehradun Football Academy Coach - Parvin Rawat, Vijay Negi, Navin Butola, Mitra Nand & Etc.

    In the inauguration of the Camp Chief Guest- Girish Chand Juyal ( Managing Director of Marshall Schooll) expressed his views By remembering his old days of 1970 as he played with some of then Indian international players like chandan singh, bupendra singh rawat, shayam thapa, ranjit thapa etc. He added that those days about 8 to 9 players were in the indian team from dehradun. He thanked the organisers effort for organising such a summer camp in Dehradun to develop the football. He also said that he will always support the endeavour of the association for better football and wanted to see the return of 1970 again in dehradun with hand of Dehradun Football Academy.

    In another speech today's Guest Of Honour ex- India International Footballer from Dehradun, Arun Malhotra gave some important tips to the summer camp young players for dicipline, diet, unity, knowledge, fitness, motivation and maximum ball work. Arun took the chief minister's award in Jummu and Kashmir state in 16 april 2013.

    Malhotra also played National Football League and I-League with Air India team for 2 years, East Bengal for 3 years, Mahindra United for 3years and O.N.G.C. for 10 years. He played in Durand Cup, IFA Shield Cup, Federation Cup, L.G. Cup, Asia Cup, President Cup , Asian Club Championship , Pre World Cup Qualifying Round (in japan). He also played alonsg with Bhaichung Bhutia (ex indian captain) for five years.
