JAYDIP DASGUPTA : The important CFL match between Mohun Bagan and United Sports are going to be kicked off on Sunday evening. Mohun Bagan are in a formidable position in the league with 14 points from 6 matches. United Sports Club are yet to perform to the reputation as the are on 5 points from 6 matches.

Who will Win 17th Nov?

Mohun Bagan can be placed slightly ahead of their opponents as it has be seen that the Mariners are concentrating on the team effort rather than individualism. But a lot will depend on their skipper Odafa Okirie. In fact Odafa came in as a replacement in the last match but unable to prove his charisma. It is likely that Karim Bensharifa will use his key striker according to the situation.

The inclusion of young stars from Arrows Souvik Ghose ,Pritam Kotal and Saiju Mon in the Bagan line up prove to be effective in the matches of I league and CFL. But the Mariners deep defense should keep in mind the individual brilliance of Ranty Martins. After a successful 2012 13 Ichezona are not at his best and Aiborlong are busy in the Indian squad. Though Shitton Paul had some brilliant performances under the framework .

United Sports Club are in the ninth position in the CFL table with just a single win from their seven matches with a negative goal difference. The Purple Brigade is a strong team in the Indian football scenario who has the ability to change the complexion of the game at any point of time. The United attacking force depends on their Nigerian goal machine Ranty Martins who is ably supported by Souvik Chakraborty and Md rafi.

But United is lacking of an effective midfielder who is capable to hold the ball in the middle third and feed the final passes. Souvik , who has shifted from Mumbai FC this year are having an impressive season. This young star is not only yielding passes to the upfront, but also helping his deep defense in front of Belo and Anupam.

Mariners should be in a positive frame of mind to earn full points on tomorrow evening. If they are capable of winning full three points from the Purple Brigade they will be leading the Kolkata CFL table.
