... Few years back a 13 years old boy from Lungley of Mizoram appeared in the trail of IFA Football Academy in the SAI Complex at Kolkata. The trail was to select the U -15 footballers for the IFA Academy in Haldia. Incidentally the boy from Mizoram was the youngest among the thousand of boys who appeared for the trail. The IFA academy was opened in the year 2004 when the IFA secretary was Mr Subrata Dutta with the help of Haldia Development Council.

The question arise during the trail - how can a boy who is just at the age of 13 can be compared in the age group of U-15 footballers. But, the chief coach of the Academy Md Habib and his assistant Sujit Chakroborty were stunned with his left foot skill. "We have got no other option but to select him in the 25 member squad of the U-15 team along with Jewel Raja(Dempo), Bekhokhei Singh(Bangaluru FC), Sayan Roy (IMG)and others" said Sujit Chakroborty the AFC 'A' license coach who nourished the IFA Academy footballers for a span of 3.5 years .

... Yes, that boy from the remote village of Mizoram is Lalrin Dika Raltey, who at the young age of 21 had spellbound the Football Fanatics with his left and had scored some world class goals in Domestic as well as in the International matches. While interacting with us Sujit Chakroborty added that initially he started his mission as a left wing half and uses his right foot also. Dika was trained to improve his shooting power and dribbling from any position near the operant's 18 yards box. In the academy during his training Dika got success several times with his perfect swing shots in left foot from in or outside the 18 yards.

Dika started to play football inspired by his idol Malsam Tulunga who can be reckoned as the first talent from Mizoram in Indian Football. But, the dream of Lalrin Dika Raltey of being a successful footballer was fulfilled by Sujit Chakroborty who is his first coach in the IFA Academy in Haldia. Sujit Chakroborty is a proud man now with the success of his student though he feels that Dika has to improve a lot to be footballer to dominate in Indian football for long. Dika has still remember his first coach as he responded to the SMS of Sujit Chakroborty who congratulated him after Derby on 24th. Mr Chakroborty got an answe from Dika "Thank you Sir".

Mr Jakir Hossain Mollah the Manager of the academy still remember some stunning goals of Dika.At that time IFA Academy had participated in various age group tournaments. Dika had earned the "Man Of The Tournament" in various tournaments. This clever and cool boy of the Haldia IFA Academy is really transforming into a utility footballer in the coming days.
