34th Sikkim Governor's Gold Cup from 7th NOV

The Sikkim Football Association is going to held their prestigeous 34th edition of Governor's Gold Cup Invitation All India Tournament. In a press release the Secretary of SFA Mr Menla Ethempa addressed that the tournament will be held on and from 7-19th November on the artificial turf of Sikkim's Palzore Football Stadium. In the last year BSF, Jalandhar won the title as the beat Three Star Nepal nepal Club.

AIFF MEDIA RELEASE : All India Football Federation Special AFC/AFDP Seminar on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in India to be held tomorrow at Radisson Blu, (Dwarka Sector- 13). Mr. Kushal Das, AIFF General Secretary, Mr. A R Khaleel, Chairman I-League Committee, and Member, AFC Social Responsibility Committee, Mr. Urs Zanitti, CEO AFDP, Dr. Michele Cox, Director of Development Programme & Marketing, AFDP and others will be present.

The Asian Football Development Project (AFDP) and the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) will host a Special Seminar on the 26th and 27th of September 2013 in New Delhi, sponsored by AFDP's Official Partner PepsiCo, to discuss Corporate Social Responsibility in India.

The AFC and AFDP have joined forces on this initiative in an effort to promote the growth of football based CSR projects across Asia, and to put mechanisms in place to implement AFC's ten-year strategy which was the result of a collaborative effort led by His Royal Highness Prince Ali Bin Al Hussein in his capacity as Chairman of the AFC Social Responsibility Committee, together with his committee members and the AFC Social Responsibility Department. Prince Ali is also the Chairman and Founder of AFDP.

The joint AFDP-AFC initiative will see the participation of international experts from UEFA, West Ham United, The British Council, World Vision, Royal DSM, Global Alliance for Nutrition and streetfootballworld. They will be joined by Representatives from AIFF including I-League Committee Chairman and Member, AFC Social Responsibility Committee Mr. AR Khaleel, and also delegates of the National Football Associations from South and Central Asia Region of the AFC.

Bengaluru FC 'keepers get help from Milosevic

BFC MEDIA RELEASE : Furthering its endeavour to give a professional edge to everything Bengaluru FC does, the club has roped in the assistance of Dejan Milsosevic who is helping out 'keepers Pawan Kumar, Bruno Colaco and Ricardo Cardozo. Australian Milosevic's twelve years as a professional goalkeeper included a five-season stint at English side Leeds United.

"I've interacted with the "keepers at the club and what I see is plenty of potential. They are willing to learn and to do well," said the 35-year-old who will be helping the young "keepers out for a fortnight. On why he chose to come over to India and lend his expertise, Milosevic says the buzz about the club was a big reason.

"It's a brand new club and the team that Ashley Westwood has built looks exciting. More importantly, this opportunity has given me the chance to test myself as a coach," said Milosevic.

With Pawan being the oldest among the three at 23, Milosevic felt age was the biggest advantage. "If these youngsters follow a process set for them, there is no telling where they can reach.".

The former Perth Glory 'keeper is also testing his new brand of goalkeeper gloves called XSENTR1Q. "We are coming up with complete goalkeeper solutions and the gloves are a part of it. We are getting the "keepers to use and are taking feedback as to where we could get better," he said.

The 3rd edition of the Junior Premier Football League in Mumbai

PIFA MEDIA RELEASE : Sundays will never be the same in Mumbai. The 3rd edition of the Junior Premier Football League is back with an all new format. The league has been organised for talented children to adapt with new team mates as well as for those students that cannot be in their school team due to various reasons. The Sunday league is also for parents to enjoy their weekend seeing their child do what they like best. Parents are encouraged to coach a team hopefully we will find India's Jose Mourhinho.

The league small sided matches is designed keeping in mind FIFA recommendation.- " Small-sided games are extremely beneficial for young children. Anecdotal evidence and research studies show that youngsters derive greater pleasure from playing football in smaller teams and with adapted rules. As well as getting involved in the game more often, players learn more quickly and take more decisions during the course of a match. And as the ball is never far away, greater concentration is required on their part. The small sided games will help."

Parents can register their child as individuals or as a team. The league will be conducted on Sunday mornings at the Ascend International School, BKC complex in Mumbai on grass pitches.

The league will kick off on November 17, 2013 and will end on February 9, 2014.
The league has five age categories for boys :
JFL-1 (6-8yrs), JFL-2 (9-10yrs), JFL-3 (11-12yrs), PFL-1 (13-14yrs), PFL-2 (15-17 yrs)
While the girls have two categories :
PFL-Jr (8-11yrs) and PFL-Sr (12-15 yrs)
Each category will have no more than 6 teams. Places are limited. This year players will be tested by PIFA for their football skills and the top 50 will be posted on the PREMIER SKILLS LIST. (For the first time in India) to be updated every quarterly. The skills assessment will be conducted on 27 October 2013.

In the 2012-13 Edition over 300 children participated in the league including 50 under privileged children from the "PIFA Foundation for the benefit of sports". The NGO develops and nurtures talent in the Colaba area in South Mumbai and help them to make a living from this beautiful game of football and keep them off bad habits such as drugs, alcohol and crime. JFL / PFL is a presentation of Premier India Football Academy (PIFA). Coaches and team training can be provided during the week on request.

Shillong Lajong And adidas Unveil New Lajong I-League 2013-14 Kit

SLFC MEDIA RELEASE : Shillong Lajong FC and adidas launched their all new Shillong Lajong official kit for the 2013-14 I-league season, in a glittering unveiling ceremony, which was held at the adidas Store in Shillong. The unveiling was made official by Shillong Lajong players including captain Minchol Son, vice-captain Wailadmi Passah and newly acquired International superstar Cornell Glen-all who also sported the new kit.

Commenting on the new kit, Captain Minchol Son said "The new kit feels great to wear and I can't wait to go in the field and wear it, alongside my team mates, and I'm sure the fans will love it too".

adidas also announced the launch of their I-league match day contest, aptly called "adidas Shillong Lajong Challenge", wherein fans who buy the jerseys from the store will win a free I-league ticket and also stand a chance to participate in a halftime penalty shootout during Lajong's home gamesthis season.
