The ex international footballer Sudip Chatterjee was honored posthumously by East Bengal in "Sports Day" organized by the club at the 75th birthday of their ex General Secretary, Paltu (Dipak) Das. A memento and a cheque of Rs 50thousand was handed over to Sudip Chatterjee's wife Sima Chatterjee by the Red and Gold General Secretary Mr Kalyan Mazumdar.

Sudip Chatterjee was one of the rare footballers who dawn the national colour before playing to any big football clubs of the country. He was summoned to represent India in the first Nehru Gold Cup held at Kolkata in 1982 as a player from B.N.R. Recreation Club.

East Bengal today honored the best footballers for the year 2013-14 of different divisions of Kolkata Football League. The footballers are:

1st Division : Sk Md Wasim ( IFA ACADEMY)
2nd Division : Debraj Doloi ( Goralgacha)
3rd Division : Surajit Bhattacharjee ( Durbar YMSA)
4th Division : Soumen Mondal (Sporting Union )
5th Division : Gopal Bangi ( Maniktala ASA)
Earlier in the morning around 225 football lovers donated blood and a number of people attended the Medical Camp for free treatment.
