JSW to host and organise India-Pakistan friendlies.

BFC official media release : JSW in association with the All India Football Federation (AIFF) will be hosting and organising the two international friendlies between India and Pakistan that will be played at the Bangalore Football Stadium on August 17 and 20 respectively.

"We, at JSW, are very proud to be associated with two games that football fans in India are looking forward to. I have no doubt that these two matches will be well received by the fans and that it will be a very keen contest on the pitch," said Parth Jindal, CEO of Bengaluru FC who are owned by JSW.

The fixtures will also serve as an able assessment for national team coach Wim Koevermans before the India under-23 team departs to Incheon, South Korea to play the Asian Games.

Football fans in Bengaluru made news for turning out in large numbers and packing the Bangalore Football Stadium during Bengaluru FC's triumphant I-League season and AR Khaleel, honorary president of the Karnataka State Football Association, said the city deserved the privilege of hosting the fixtures.

"It is a matter of pride that Bengaluru has been chosen as a venue for both the friendlies. The football-loving crowds have been fantastic all of last season and they deserve it. We are sure the games will be a huge success," he said.

Kushal Das, General Secretary, All India Football Federation, expressed his gratitude to JSW for "coming forward to organise the matches."I'm extremely grateful to JSW for coming forward to organise the friendly matches between India and Pakistan in Bengaluru. I think both these matches are of great importance for the preparation to the Asian Games for both India and Pakistan. I'm sure the contest will be extremely competitive and entertaining,' he said.

AIFF's U-16 Kalyani Regional Academy Boys reached Heemskerk, Netherlands.

AIFF's U-16 Kalyani Regional Academy Boys reached Heemskerk, The Netherlands on Tuesday afternoon for a two-week once in lifetime Exposure Tour where they will play the academies of PSV Eindhoven, FC Schalke 04 and a host of other top academies.

The Boys will be having two training sessions today (August 5, 2014) before they move to Rotterdam Feyenoord, also known as Varkenoord where the feted academies of Feyenoord and Excelsior are based. They will be touring the stadium and other facilities tomorrow (August 6, 2014). The Dutch experience will commence with a match against FC Dordrecht on August 6.

The 18-member team mainly consisting of the India U-16 National Team which won the SAFF Championship last year along with taking part in the Asian Champions Trophy U-16, will be playing International Youth Tournament in Heemskerk on August 9-10, and the RKTVC B Top Tournament a week later in Tiel.

In the Broersen International Youth Tournament, the boys will be facing Academies of Dutch outfits S.B.V. Excelsior, FC Volendam and Spanish side Deportivo Saint Maickol. A week later the U-16 SAFF Cup Champions will be playing against Academies of FC Twente and AZ Alkmaar along with RKTVC’s own Youth Team.

Besides the two competitions, the AIFF Colts would also be playing Friendly matches against the Academy sides of PSV Eindhoven, FC Schalke 04 and KRC Genk of Belgium. The two highly rated Youth Competitions will provide the opportunity for the boys to rub shoulders with some of the best Youth Academies of the World. To accommodate three matches in a day, the duration of games will be reduced to forty minutes.
