AIFF toay conducted an one day seminar on Centralized Registration System in a city hotel alongwith IFA for Eastern Zone. Earlier AIFF also conducted the CRS seminar with Kerala Football Association in Kerala on 6th January.

In presense of AIFF Vice President Subrata Dutta, 7 representatives of Sikkim, Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand, Chattisgarh and Orissa were present.Mr. Sujesh Rajan FIFA TMM senior Manager and Mr. Sankalp Pujari, Asst Manager TMM Registration conducted the seminar. The representatives were.

Lusofonia Games 2014 - Portugal and Brazil football teams absent.

CHARLES D'SOUZA - GOA : The non participation of Portugal and Brazil football teams from the Lusofonia Games 2014 scheduled later this month had left thousand of football crazy Goans in a state of total shock. After the initial uncertainity on the conduct of the games, the sports loving locals were in a joyful mood with the ACOLOP settling the postponement of the event which was agreed by all the participating countries. With Brazil withdrawing earlier, Portugal soon followed, the Five times world Champions leaving the Goans in a huge disappointment.

Football is one of the biggest attraction for the Goans but without Portugal and Brazil declining to send their teams. The football event lost the glitter when this scribe meet some football enthusiast who provided their views. Dixon Vaz a seamen and president of Goa Seamen Association of India described the withdrawal of Portugal and Brazil as a heart break.

It s a huge disappointment for every Goans. Our football crazy people endorse Brazil and Portugal, we have supported this teams like our very own at the mega World Cup and when they are missing on our own turf is naturally big disaster. Football is the crowd puller and with no Portugal and Brazil for who will go an watch. The Lusofonia Games will be huge flop and shall be scrapped, there's no charm, the games should be postponed at another date after conforming the total and full availability of all the countries, opined Vaz before disclosing that Goans are not avid watchers of substandard football .

Bernard Rebello, another football lover and owner of Rebello Medical Stores describe the withdrawal of Portugal and Brazil as a sad story. Even before the start we got a rude shock of Portugal and Brazil football team being not part of the event, without two giants, the charm is lost and shine is gone. Our boys would' ve learnt lots of things in football playing there, football giants but now it's only a pipe dream, the opportunity is very well gone from our hands .There's no use in the conduct of the games, it's waste of money and as well of resources and it should be cancelled once and for all.

Brazil and Portugal had been loved by Goans over the years for the entertaining and skilful soccer from these two teams are crowds pullers but their absence had left a huge hole, without Portugal and Brazil, the Lusofonia Games came be truly described as a 'Flop shows'.

People has been anxiously awaited for these two football powerhouses and now they are not coming to Goa. There's nothing left in the event and it should be cancelled, there is no need of it, Football is the state game but sadly two main attraction and football giants will be not be seen in action in Goa.

It's a disaster roars Tito Cardozo, a civil contractor. Just like him, there will be many Goans who are total football fans, their interest only for football for the Lusofonia Games but without Portugal and Brazil not coming, it will be waste of time to watch other countries who's names they don't know.

With true football buffs expressing their opnion on the shocking absence of Brazil and Portugal, it remains to be seen the fate of football for the Lusofonia Games Goa 2014 at the Nehru Stadium, Fatorda.

FED Cup - Salgaocar -Goa announced their 20 men squad.

SALGAOCAR PRESS RELEASE : Salgaocar Football Club announced their 20 man squad ahead of the Federation Cup on Saturday, 11th January ahead of the team's departure for Cochin, where they will face Shillong Lajong, Mohun Bagan and Mumbai FC in what is being considered a fairly tricky group.

Coach Derrick Pereira is quietly confident after his team dished out some good performances resulting in emphatic wins in the couple of friendlies played over the course of the last week against the Goa-India team for the Lusofonia Games. Derrick has made a couple of re-enforcements to the squad with Mumbai Tiger FC's forward Bikash Jairu, the top Goal scorer at the 2013 edition of the Durand Cup with 7 goals, having been signed on loan to enable the greens find the back of the net more consistently. Bikash coincidentally, netted 4 goals in Mumbai Tiger's 6-2 rout of Sikkim United in the same tournament.

Freiman Peixoto who was also signed on loan late in December and made his debut against Bengaluru FC in the last game of the I-League prior to the breather has also been included in the 20 member squad.

The team will rely on their strength in midfield, particularly Indian Internationals Francis Fernandes, Rocus Lamare and the versatile Gilbert Oliveira to dominate possession and create openings for their sharp shooter, Darryl Duffy. Matthew Foschini adds solidity to the back manned by the resolute Chika Wali with the ever reliable Karanjit Singh in goal.

Salgaocar kick-off their campaign on 15th January against Shillong Lajong followed by a match against Mumbai FC on the 18th . They wrap up their league engagements against Mohun Bagan on the 21st with all their matches being played at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Cochin.
