AIFF SIGNS AGREEMENT WITH GERMAN FOOTBALL ASSOCIATION

AIFF Press Release : Close on the heels of having signed a MOU with the Japan Football Association in February 2015, the All India Football Federation entered into another significant partnership with DFB (German Football Association) in Goa on Tuesday (April 21, 2015).

AIFF General Secretary Mr. Kushal Das signed on the dotted lines with Mr. Markus Weidner, Director Coach Education and International Relationship, DFB. The partnership aims at technical collaboration with emphasis on Coach Education, Grassroots Programme and Youth Development.

Besides delegates from FIFA, Indian National Team Head Coach Stephen Constantine and Technical Director Scott O'Donell were also present, as was Dr. Shaji Prabhakaran, FIFA Regional Development Officer for South and Central Asia. Mr. Weidner mentioned that the DFB were 'delighted' to enter into this agreement.

'We are delighted to enter into this co-operation agreement with AIFF. The appointment of Mr. Nicolai Adam as the Head Coach of the India U-17 National Team which will be playing in the FIFA U-17 World Cup in 2017 is the first step in our co-operation". Mr. Das highlighted the significance of having DFB on board.

'It's an extreme honour to enter into an agreement with the German Football Association. This partnership will usher in an overall technical development for Indian Football,' he said. 'It is always best to learn from the best. Germany are the World Champions and that they have been the most consistent Team in the World speaks about their approach to the game. Indian Football will only further benefit from here on.'

GFA Press Release : An AFC A- License Certificate course was conducted at Duler Stadium, Mapusa and ended on April 17, 2015. The course commenced on March 22, 2015 and was conducted by the All India Football Federation in association with the Goa Football Association.

The course instructor was Mr. Fahad Ahmed Yusuf Maki Almukharreq from Bahrain, and he was assisted by Mr. Abdulla Hussain from UAE. Mr. Anthony Lobo was the local course coordinator. The course extended over a period of 27 days and involved a series of practical and theoretical sessions followed by assessments and dissertation. The list of participants is as follows

BOCA JUNIORS FOOTBALL SCHOOL INDIA APPOINTS PETROS SIDERIS AS TECHNICAL DIRECTOR

BJFSI Press Release : Boca Juniors Football School India (BJFSI), the premier football training academy in Bangalore today confirmed Petros Sideris as its new Technical Director. Petros joins Boca Juniors Football School India having gained experience playing, coaching and analyzing football across the world. He will take over from David Monedero, who has returned to the UK.

The BJFSI was launched in July 2013 and has over 450 kids in their 6 centres across the city. Petros is excited about working with young talent in the city. He commented, "I'm delighted to join Boca Juniors Football Academy in India and look forward to work closely with the students for their development. India is quickly becoming one of the top destinations for global football and I am excited to be a part of helping grow the sport in the country. The talents look promising and an organised approach and exposure will take them to the next level quickly".

Petros, who hails from Greece, is a UEFA B licensed coach having coaching badges from the Football Association of UK and Football Manager's degree from the Under 17 team at Holargos FC in Greece. He was also the Coach of the Greek National Mens Soccer Team at the Deaf Olympic Games in 2013. A compassionate human who is very calm with a strong head over his shoulders, Petros is an avid traveller and photographer and is completely excited and thrilled having seen the potential for football in India.
