The Kalyani Municipality Stadium will be reconstructed into a composite stadium within a span of two years. The initiative is being taken by the Municipality of Kalyani in association with a Chinese firm ( DIRECT SPORTS MANAGEMENT - BEIJING CHINA - SHINE LIU- MD. Direct Management achieved so far:- Annual international youth football tournament - The Great Wall Cup, Weifeng Cup, securing trails and contracts for international players to play in both China and Indian professional leagues, Indian National U19 training camp in Guangzhou prior to 16th Asian Games etc ).

The Stadium is located in the district of Nadia, West Bengal a small industrial town 50 kms from Kolkata. The town is well connected with Kolkata with all the required infra structures. Kalyani Municipality Stadium has hosted a number of important football matches including the I-League.

The lush green football ground of the stadium can be rated as one of the finest ground of the country. The AIFF had their Regional Academy in the stadium which has been shifted to Goa recently.

According to the plan designed by the Municipality and the Chinese firm. The stadium will be three storied with an arrangement of 25-30 thousand spectators. The stadium will have all the indoor stadium facilities including a shopping mall. There will be residential complex including a hotel within the area of the stadium.

While talking to the media the Chairman of Kalyani Municipality, Mr Nilimesh Roy Chowdhury said, "Our main aim is to complete the infrastructure development before the Under-17 World Cup in 2017 so that the ground gets ready to host a few matches". Municipality has a budget of RS 12 crore for the up coming project.

The Director of Direct Sport Management, Shine Liu Duo feels the stadium will be an architectural beauty, with all modern facilities. Shine added that their aim is to complete the stadium within the end of 2016.

RECORD ATTENDANCE AT AFC ASIAN CUP

The attendance in the AFC Asian Cup Australia 2015, has surpassed the previous records of AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2011. At the end of the first two quarter final matches the number of attendance at the stadiums in Australia has reached to 465,381. The previous best was 421,000 which was recorded at Qatar two years back.

General Secretary of the Asian Football Confederation Dato' Alex Soosay while interacting said, "The fans are making this a truly remarkable festival of football. The overwhelming support is heartening, and we are on course to surpass our initial attendance estimation which is a wonderful achievement."

The football fanatics at Australia has shown their great interest in the most popular game of the world - football. It has been observed that there is a large number of gathering in the stadiums at Australia during the course of the tournament.

The Local Organizing Committee C.E.O. Michel Brown said, "We've seen football fans, multicultural communities and the wider sporting audience turning up for the games in every city and I want to thank them for their support. I am proud of the great spirit in which the football has been played and in which the fans have celebrated and supported their teams."

The maximum attendance was in the match between Australia and China where the spectators recorded was 46067.
