COSTA RICAN WORLD CUPPER JOINS EAST BENGAL

11.07.2018: Quess East Bengal Football Club signed a deal with Costa Rican World Cupper Jonny Acosta Zamora to play in the up coming season. The 34 year old central defender played 72 international matches scored two goals for his country.

This can be rated as on one of the biggest deal in Indian football transfer market. Acosta participated in two World Cups which includes the current years tournament at Russia. Acosta was a regular member of the Costa Rican national team played a memorable match in the Group League stages against Brazil. Brazil scored at the added time of the match. Jonny Acosta was a product of Deportivo Saprissa youth academy started his professional carrier in the year 2004. He joined East Bengal from the Colombian A division club Rionegro Aguilas.

Bengaluru FC re-sign former goalkeeper Soram Poirei
09.07.2018 - BFC PRESS RELEASE : Bengaluru FC have completed the signing of former goalkeeper Soram Anganba Poirei who was part of the squad during 2013-15 seasons, the club announced on Monday. Despite being just 25-years-old, Poirei brings in vast experience having being part of the domestic circuit for nine years now.

The Imphal-born custodian began his youth career with Pune FC in 2009 and was promoted to the first team as a reserve goalkeeper the same year as a 17-year-old. After a two-year spell with the Maharashtra side, Poirei moved to the north-east to join Shillong Lajong FC. A string of impressive performances with Lajong saw him being drafted by the national federation into the Indian Arrows side for the 2012-13 season.

A first choice 'keeper for Arrows, Poirei made 18 appearances helping the young team finish 12th, above Air India FC and United Sikkim FC in the I-League. Poirei's performances under the bar impressed Bengaluru FC who brought him in for their inaugural season in the I-League. In fact, he featured four times in the league for the Blues who romped to the historic I-League title in the 2013-14 season. After being part of the Bengaluru side that won the Federation Cup title and finished runners-up in the league in the 2014-15 season, Poirei moved back to the north-east, this time with Aizawl FC for their first-ever season in the Indian top-flight.

Poirei then joined Delhi Dynamos for the 2016 season of the Indian Super League, making five appearances for the Lions who finished as semifinalists in the competition. He then moved back to Pune, where he began the season as first-choice goalkeeper for DSK Shivajians making a total of seven appearances in the season. At the start of the 2017-18 season, Poirei was signed up by Kolkata giants Mohun Bagan for whom he featured regularly in the Calcutta Football League Premier Division, finishing runners-up in the competition. He was signed by fellow Kolkata side ATK for the latter half of their season where he featured in the final few games of the ISL and the Super Cup.

Chennaiyin FC appoint Englishman Paul Groves as Assistant Coach
09.07.2018 - CFC PRESS RELEASE : Chennaiyin FC is delighted to announce the appointment of Englishman Paul Groves as Assistant Coach ahead of its title defence in the upcoming 2018-19 Indian Super League season. 52-year-old Groves, who was last working as first-team coach at Birmingham City last season, replaces compatriot Mark Lillis.

Groves is reunited with Chennaiyin FC Head Coach John Gregory and Sports Scientist Dr. Niall Clark, having worked with the two at Crawley Town in England's League One in the 2014-15 season as first-team coach. Groves joins the duo who signed a one-year extension earlier this year after having guided the club to its second ISL title in March. Local favourite and former India international Syed Sabir Pasha also continues as Assistant Coach.

Groves' lengthy playing career spanning more than 700 professional appearances began at Burton Albion in 1988. He went on to play for Leicester City, Blackpool, West Bromwich Albion, Grimsby Town, Scunthorpe United, York City and Stafford Rangers. He made 454 appearances for Grimsby Town over two stints, becoming player-manager in the latter, from 2001 to 2004.

06.07.2018 - BFC PRESS RELEASE : Bengaluru Football Club have roped in winger Francisco 'Xisco' Hernandez Marcos on a one-year-deal, the club announced on Thursday. The 28-year-old winger who can also operate as a second striker and a playmaker becomes the sixth foreigner in the current squad and ninth Spaniard to play for the Blues since 2013.

Born in Palma in Mallorca, Xisco came through the youth ranks of local giants RCD Mallorca before making his senior debut with the reserves in the 2008–09 season. After a two-year spell with the reserves, he moved to CD Puertollano in Segunda División B the following season before returning to Mallorca B in 2011. His second spell with the Balearic Island giants saw him finally break into the first team playing in the Copa Del Rey against fellow La Liga giants Sporting Gijon. Xisco then played for Lleida Esportiu (2012-13), CD Atlético Baleares (2013-14) and CF Reus Deportiu (2014-15) in the following seasons netting a total of 17 goals in 82 league appearances in Segunda B.

After short spell with Gimnàstic de Tarragona (2016) in the Segunda División, he returned to Atlético Baleares midway through the season. His second spell with the Mallorca-based side saw him notch up 21 league goals in 66 league appearances. In fact, during the 2016-17 season, Xisco was an ever-present figure in the Baleares squad featuring 36 times and scoring 13 goals to help them finish fourth and seal qualification to the promotion play-offs and the Copa Del Rey.

Bhutanese Youngster Chencho Gyeltshen signs with Bengaluru FC

25/06/2018 - BFC PRESS RELEASE : Bengaluru FC have completed the signing of Bhutanese attacker Chencho Gyeltshen on a one-year deal, the club announced on Monday. The 22-year-old becomes the Blues’ fifth foreigner and the first one the club has ever signed from a fellow SAFF nation.

Beginning his youth career at Yeedzin FC in 2008, Chencho moved up the ranks quickly to make his first team debut in the Bhutan National League. At 17, he picked up his first national title when Yeedzin were crowned Champions of Bhutan. The following season he moved to fellow Bhutanese side Druk United with whom he scored a brace against Mohun Bagan in the 2014 King’s Cup.

A spell with Thimphu FC (2015) was followed by a move to Thailand’s Buriram United midway through 2015. Chencho won the U19 Championships with the Thai giants before being loaned out to Surin City thus becoming the first Bhutanese player to play professional football abroad. After another short loan spell with Nonthaburi FC (2016), he moved to Satun United (2016) before returning back from Thailand.

Chencho starred in the 2016 Bhutan National League finishing as the top-scorer with Thimphu FC before joining FC Tertons for the 2017 AFC Cup Qualifying Stages. He moved abroad for the second time joining Bangladesh’s Chittagong Abahani in October 2016 for the second half of their league campaign.

At the start of the 2017-18 season Chencho joined Minerva Punjab FC in his third move abroad and immediately became an indispensable part of the side. The attacker continued his fine goal scoring form and finished the as the top-scorer for the North-Indian side with seven goals, third highest in the League, helping them to their maiden I-League title.

At the international level, Chencho has represented Bhutan in various age groups before making his senior debut at just under 16 years scoring in a friendly game against Nepal. In fact, Chencho (10 goals in 29 appearances) is the most capped player for Bhutan as well as their highest ever goal scorer.

Chennaiyin FC sign Mizo trio Isaac, Zotea and Dinliana

22/06/2018 - CFC PRESS RELEASE : Indian Super League (ISL) holders Chennaiyin FC are delighted to announce that the Mizoram trio of Isaac Vanmalsawma, Zohmingliana Ralte and Laldinliana Renthlei has joined the club on two-year deals.

Carles Cuadrat is new Bengaluru FC New coach
14.06.2018 ( BFC PRESS RELEASE) : Spaniard Carles Cuadrat has been named the new coach of Bengaluru FC in a one-year deal that keeps him with the Blues till the end of the 2018-19 season, the club announced on Thursday. An assistant coach at the club for two seasons, Cuadrat takes over the baton from Albert Roca who bid farewell to Bengaluru earlier in May.

An academy graduate at FC Barcelona, Cuadrat had coaching stints with the age-group teams at the Catalan giants before traveling to Galatasaray with Roca as part of Frank Rijkaard’s staff. He then became assistant to Roca at the Saudi Arabia and El Salvador national teams before joining Bengaluru FC at the start of the 2016-17 season during which he won the Federation Cup with the Blues.

BFC PRESS RELEASE 11.06.2018: Bengaluru Football Club have completed the signing of youngsters Sairuat Kima and Gursimrat Singh Gill on two-year deals till the end of the 2019-2020 season, the club announced on Monday. The duo join Kean Lewis and Rino Anto in the Blues' camp as they continue to reinforce their squad ahead of the AFC Cup Inter-Zone Semifinal tie against Turkmenistan's Altyn Asyr FK in August.

Twenty-one-year-old Gursimrat, who first joined Bengaluru in 2016-17 season from the AIFF Elite Academy, went on to feature in the I-League and the AFC Cup campaigns before being part of the Federation Cup winning squad in May 2017. The youngster was excited to rejoin the Blues after spending a season with NorthEast United.

Meanwhile, 20-year-old Sairuat who joins the club from Jamshedpur FC, began his youth career with Mizoram-based Chanmari FC before joining the DSK Shivajians youth setup in Pune. He was promoted to the first team during the 2016-17 season where the 6’3” tall defender featured in the Durand Cup and the Federation Cup apart from being a mainstay in defense in the I-League. In a press meeting at Kolkata in presence of Technical Director, Subash Bhowmick, General Secretary Kalyan Mazumdar and Football Secretary Rajat Guha the name of Bastab Roy was announced. Bastab was working as the assistant coach ATK since last couple of years feels himself proud to join club like East Bengal. Earlier Rajan Chowdhury joined East Bengal as assistant coach though the name of Physical trainer are yet to finalise .



KINGSHUK DEBNATH ARE IN THE RADER OF EAST BENGAL

16.5.18: East Bengal are in discussion with Kingshuk Debnath though the deal are yet to finalise. According to the sources the Mohun Bagan defender are in talks with East Bengal since last few days. It seems that Mohun Bagan are not interested to continue with Kingshuk in the forth coming season. Kinshuk served for the Mariners for nine years, played for Mohammedan Sporting and ATK, the ISL franchise. It is expected that the deal will be finalise soon.

CAVIN LOBO JOINS ATK

4.5.18: The central midfielder of East Bengal Cavin Peter Lobo is now set to join the ISL franchisee ATK. East Bengal declared his name as the captain of the team for the year 2018, but inspite of that Lobo decided to join ATK. Cavin Lobo was associated with East Bengal since 2012, played for ATK as a loan player in the year 2014.It is indeed a good gain for ATK in the transfer market.



SANJU PRADHAN SIGNS ONE YEAR CONTRACT EXTENSION.
4.5.2018: Mumbai City FC extends the contract of midfielder Sanju Pradhan for one more year until 2019. Sanju joins Amrinder Singh, Pranjal Bhumij, Davinder Singh and Kunal Sawant in the list of players to have signed extensions with the club, along with Lucian Goian and Sehnaj Singh who have a year left on their current contracts.

3.5.18 The experienced footballer Abhra Mondal is going to rejoin Red and Gold as goalkeeper as well as goal keeping coach in the forth coming season. 30.4.18 : The central defender of Minerva Punjab FC, Sukdev Singh are in the target of three Kolkata clubs. East Bengal already declared the name of Sukdev Singh in an email. But Minerva Punjab supremo Ranjit Bajaj claims that Sukdev are in an agreement till 2019. If any team wants him than the particular club will have to pay transfer fees to Minerva Punjab.
Meanwhile the other Kolkata clubs ATK and Mohun Bagan are also in a target to sign Sukdev Singh in their favour for the forth coming season. Sukdev can be rated as one of the successful defender in the recently concluded season.

MINERVA PUNJAB CLAIMS TRANSFER FEE FOR THEIR FOOTBALLERS

28.4.18 : Minerva Punjab FC's team owner Ranjit Bajaj claims that four footballers whoso name are announced by East Bengal in an email yesterday are illegal. Ranjit Bajaj claims, Sukdev Singh, Deepak Devrani, Bali Gagandip and Kasim Aidara are in an agreement with his club till 2019. Minerva Punjab team owner said, if three Indian footballers decided to join East Bengal then a transfer money of 10% will have to remitted. Minerva Punjab has no objection regarding goal keeper Rakshit Dagar who is free to join East Bengal

Ranjit Bajaj further claims that a transfer fee of 25% will have to be paid in case of Kasim Aidara, the footballer from Senegal. East Bengal are in discussion with Chencho the footballer from Bhutan who had successful I League mission last year.

MRIDUL BANERJEE APPOINTED, WHILE BISWAJIT BHATTACHARJEE TERMINATED

27.4.18 : Mohammedan Sporting Club have appointed Mridul Banerjee as their new Head Coach, after parting ways with Biswajit Bhattacharya. Mohammedan SC, former Head Coach Biswajit Bhattacharya and Goalkeeper Coach Partha Chakraborty have reached an agreement to terminate their working relationship on mutual consent.

Mridul Banerjee, who led the Black Panthers to the second place finish in 2016/17 Calcutta Football League before winning the 2017 Santosh Trophy with Bengal state team, has been appointed as replacement with immediate effect and his first assignment will be a must-win away tie against Bengaluru FC 'B' on Sunday.



BHOWMICK APPOINTED AS TECHNICAL DIRECTOR, KHALID PART AWAY
26.4.18 : Subash Bhowmick will continue as the Technical Director of East Bengal for the forth coming 2018-19 season. This was officially announced by the General Secretary of East Bengal Kalyan Mazumdar, in a press meeting at Kolkata today. Subash Bhowmick will be in charge of the team right from the beginning of the season till the end. East Bengal announced the name of Ranjan Chowdhury as the Assistant Coach but the name of the chief coach is yet to be finalise. While interacting with the media Kalyan Mazumdar said that Technical Director Subash Bhowmick will going to finalise the name of Chief coach, Goal keeper Coach and other members of the technical team.

East Bengal part away with Khalid Jamil who was incidentally the chief coach of the team in the recently concluded season. Kalyan Mazumdar, the General Secretary of East Bengal described Khalid Jamil's performance as 'miserable' and added that club want to help him by deputing Bhaskar Ganguly, Manoranjan Bhattacharjee during I League and Subash Bhowmick at the time of Super Cup. Despite all efforts from club Khalid's performance was far beyond expectation. So, club are not in a position to continue with Khalid Jamil in the forth coming season. A letter has been sent to Khalid Jamil regarding the issue.

Kalyan Mazumdar admits that the agreement with Khalid Jamil was for two years.The agreement also says that after six months with a two months notice period the agreement can be cancelled from either end.


Subash Bhowmick will finalise his technical team shortly.



SUBHASISH ROY CHOWDHURY SIGNS FOR JAMSHEDPUR FC

26.04.2018: JFC Press Release: Subhasish Roy Chowdhury signs for Jamshedpur Football Club on a one-year deal. Subhasish played for East Bengal, Mahindra United, Dempo in the I-League; ATK, FC Goa, Delhi Dynamos and Kerala Blasters in the Indian Super League.

On signing with Jamshedpur FC, Subhasish commented, "Jamshedpur is my second home. I feel nostalgic being back here. There were some great memories made during my time with TFA. According to the sources Azharuddin Mullick, Shilton Paul and Arijit Bagui will going to continue their agreement for yet another year with Green and Maroon. Mohun Bagan finalise Ugandan striker Henry Kisekka for the forth coming season. Henry played an important role for Gokulam FC in the recently concluded I League . 24.4.18:Subash Bhowmick to continue as the Technical Director of East Bengal in the forth coming season. There is a chance of golden handshake between coach Khalid Jamil and East Bengal. According to the sources East Bengal management are willing to continue with Kalid Jamil and it is likely that Ranjan Chowdhury will act as the coach of East Bengal in the Kolkata CFL.



KATSUMI & UBAID EXTEND CONTRACT WITH EAST BENGAL
24.04.18:Japanese midfielder Katsumi Yusa extends his contract for one more year in East Bengal today. Katsumi is the second overseas footballer after Senegalese footballer Kassim Aidara to sign for East Bengal. Katsumi will join the team from I League. The discussion with Mahumd Al Amna are almost in the final stage, it is likely that the Syrian midfielder will sign shortly.

The veteran midfielder Mehtab Hossain and goalkeeper Abhra Mondal will join East Bengal in the forth coming season. According to the sources, Technical Director Subash Bhowmick recommend the name of two footballers and they will be included in the squad.

Ubaid CK, extends his contract with East Bengal for two more years until 2020.In his official page Ubaid added "The club want me here and I want to be here. I want to be in this city.

ARNAB MONDAL JOINS ATK

23.04.2018 The central defender of East Bengal, Arnab Mondal signed for the ISL franchisee ATK. The agreement will last for one year. Arnab was the captain of East Bengal in the recently concluded season had a association for the last eight years. Arnab was the member of ATK for the first three years decided to join once again. East Bengal are in search of experienced central defender after Arnab Mondal and Gurwinder Singh decided to bid a goodbye after a long spell of service.

East Bengal had a good gain in the transfer market when the signed the I League champions Minerva Punjab FC's midfielder, Kassim Aidara and goal keeper Rakshit Dagar in the forth coming season.
