FCG PRESS RELEASE : FC Goa post match press conference : Press conference was addressed by Coach Zico and player Mandar Rao Dessai

Q. Coach, are you happy with the win today?
A. ZICO : Of course I am very happy. We received an amazing reaction on the ground today and yet we had our feet on the ground. I am happy with my players' performance. They gave their best in the practice matches and this is the fruit of that. I am very happy with the fans reactions who love football and Goa is very well represented here. I would like to congratulate the fans for the victory.

Q. How do you sense your chances against Chennai and Kolkata?
A. ZICO : We are taking one step at a time. Now we have to focus only on Chennai next. They had a very good result which puts them in a very good spot. We are going to play with the same disposition and same desire and we will try to get more points

Q. There have been hardly any changes in the team in the last few matches. Is it because everything is going right or fear that things might go wrong?
A. ZICO : In Brazil we always say that the team that is winning, doesn't change. So we have kept the same team and haven't moved the players. Many players are doing well and they have no injuries, so there is no need for a change.

Q. How difficult is to leave Robert Pires out of the matches on a consistent basis?
A. ZICO : I don't think I need to talk about that. I made the change in the midfield and they are playing well. But I want Pires to continue with the practice and so when he gets the opportunity to play, he is fit to play.

Q. The coach has selected you to play consistently. How does it feel to be replacing the likes of Clifford Miranda and playing in the final 11?
A. MANDAR : I give my best in the every practice session and my teammates help me. Even Clifford Miranda helps me in everything. I feel great to play in his place.

PREVIEW : Press conference was addressed by Coach Zico and player Clifford Miranda

Q. In the last five matches, three matches were won and two were drawn, but most importantly only one goal was conceded. How has this transformation come about?
A. ZICO : When we have the chance to keep the same team and the same formation we can get the results in the games that we play. We have been playing more compact now and the trials and errors have become much less and because of which we are getting the results. It is the fruit of our initial preparations and I have always said that we are not a team of just 11 players but 27 players and all of them are ready to play and when they get a chance they play their game.

Q. This is the last home game before two away games. If NorthEast ends up winning tomorrow, they will go above Goa in the points table. What are your realistic ambitions for the next three games?
A. ZICO : Our main target is to be in the top four. We shouldn't think that if we are playing at home it will be an easy game. We have to target at winning every game whether it is at home or away.

Q. Robert Pires has not been playing for the last two matches. How difficult will it be for him to come back if he will play for next three matches?
A. ZICO : We have 27 players and those are the options that we have and we are getting good results.

Q. This will be your last match on Pandit Jawaharla Nehru Stadium. What are your fond memories of this ground? Also if you reach the semi-finals or finals, will you be pleased to play on this ground?
A. ZICO : I hope is is not the last game here. We want to play more here. It has been amazing playing here because we love the ground and especially the crowd. The crowd has been like the 12th player of our team. We are looking to honour our fans by giving our best for the matches. I always tell my team that victory here is very important since everybody in the stadium is here to support us.

Q. What are the improvements that you want to see in the team?
A. ZICO : I always want to see a spirit of competition in the team. Our players should grow technically in the position they are playing and of course improving their game day by day. I always tell them to improve their practice, which will help them in improving the game.

Q. You generally play in the left-winger position. What are your thoughts on Mandar's performance who has taken the position in the team?
A. MIRANDA : Mandar is playing really well and consistently. He has performed well in the last few matches. He is young and has lot of potential. He is already playing for the under 20 Asian games which is just one step before the national football team and it is matter of time before he starts playing for the national team. I have seen him playing for the last four - five years and he has a long way to go.

Q. Even though you haven't gotten many chances to play, what are the improvements that you have seen in your game after training under Zico?
A. MIRANDA : Everyone wants to play and no one wants to sit on the bench. But we have to support the coach's decisions. There have been many assumptions, but then it is the coach who makes the right decision. He knows who the best player is at which moment. My work is to work hard and wait for the opportunity to prove myself. As far as improvement is concerned, he has helped us in improving our position on the field and I think that is great thing and we should learn from him.
