PREVIEW: The Grand Finale of the third edition of Indian Super League will kick off at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Kochi, on Sunday evening. This is the second instance when Kerala Blasters and Atletico De Kolkata will meet against each other in the final of the most lucrative football tournament of the sub continent.
Atletico De Kolkata were the champions in the opening edition of ISL, defeating Kerala Blasters by a solitary goal. Now it is a great opportunity for Kerala Blasters to revert the situation in front of the passionate full house home crowd at Kochi.
ATK FINES , JUAN BALANCOSO SUSPENDED
ISL PRESS RELEASE: All India Football Federation Disciplinary Committee has fined Atletico de Kolkata Rs 7,00,000 (Seven Lac INR) in two separate incidents of ‘team misconduct’ under the AIFF Disciplinary Code Article 53A and 53B during Hero ISL 2016 Match no 59 played between Mumbai City FC vs Atletico de Kolkata at Mumbai Football Arena, Mumbai on 13th December 2016.

Kerala Blasters are having a good track record in their home ground in the current edition as they have won a record six matches in a row and managed to keep a clean sheet in half of their home matches, conceding just four goals. While discussing regarding the chances in the final the chief coach of Kerala Blasters Steve Coppell said, “It will obviously be a comfortable atmosphere for us because it’s our home crowd but the crowd don’t play. They give us huge support. Whoever wins tomorrow needs to earn the trophy by playing well. I am sure both sides have that intention going into the game. The crowd is nothing more than a great background for us to play against but it won’t give us a goal-start or stop goals going in. I think it’s just neutral. It’s a game. Once the match kicks-off, it doesn’t really matter what happens outside."
It will be a hard task for Atletico De Kolkata on Sunday evening as they will not only face the oppornant Kerala Blasters but they will have to face a strong crowd who will going to cheer for the home team. While interacting in the pre match press meeting Jose Molina, the chief coach of Atletico De Kolkata said, “I don’t know whether we are the most consistent. It’s true we only lost two matches but I have respect for all teams. Kerala have had a great season but we will try to win. We want the trophy.”
The Final of the third edition of ISL will kick off at 7 pm IST.
