27.06.2014: Kolhapur, Maharashtra based Gadhinglaj United football Association won the Prestigious Under 17 Champions Trophy organised by SAI Sports of Kolhapur. In Final Gadhinglaj United beat Patakadil Talim Mondal (PTM) by 1-0. the all important goal scored by Gadhinglaj's Sameer Shaynawar. In this tournament total 16 teams participated. `
The 16 teams divided in four groups. In group league matches from this top two teams qualified for quarterfinal. In league match Gadhinglaj Beat PTM B 2-0, Practice club 1-1 & loss with Dilbahar 1-0. In Quarterfinal Gadhinglaj beat Khandoba Talim mondal in tie breaker 5-4. In Semi final Gadhinglaj beat Shivaji Tarun Mondal in sudden death 6-5.
After final well known Industrialist Chanderkant Jadhav, Satyjeet Kadam, Vijay Devane, Ex. player Arun Narke, WIFA secretary Manik Mandlik, Orgniser Satish Suryvanshi distributed the prizes and awards to the young footballers. 25.03.2014: Uttrakhand Football Referees Association is going to Organise the 2nd edition of Inter School Boys and Girls Football Challenge Cup 2014. The Tournament organiser Virendra Singh Rawat told us that In Girls Vompitition theere will be the prize for Winners - Runners - 3rd place holders and Best Player of the Tournament and Fair Play Trophy. The teams participating in the Girls Tournament will be Kasiga School, Union World School, Hopeown A and B Team, Tibetan village School, Morvien School, ONGC Polytenich, Pestelweed Colege, Dehradoon Football Academy, Doon Grammer School, KV Birpur, KV Salawala, All Saints College Nainital.
The Girls Tournament will start from 23rd April and Final will be held in 27th April while Boys Tourament will start on 5th May and the Final will be held on 13th May.
BANGALORE GETS READY FOR UNDER-14 ALL INDIA FOOTBALL TOURNEY
The World Cup football action in Brazil is now almost in the final stages. At the same time, Bangalore is getting ready to host the All India Under-14 five a side football tournament at the Bangalore Football Stadium. The tournament, held over 2 days on July 26 (sat.) and 27 (sun) will have 64 teams battling out for glory.
This will be one great opportunity for the young under-14 footballers to show their talent. With India hosting the Under-17 FIFA World Cup in 2017 there cannot be a better opportunity than the forthcoming tournament.
A.R. Khaleel, President of the Karnataka State Football Association (K.S.F.A.) lauded the initiative and felt that many players have an opportunity to show their true football talent in the tournament. Lot of planning and efforts have gone into making the tournament a memorable one both for the visiting teams and Karnataka teams as well. The tournament is the brainchild of Denz Foundation who are helping to enhance and encourage the young players to play for the country one day hopefully.
Under-14 football teams from most schools, football academies and clubs will be seen in action. The tournament is held with the cooperation of the State Department of Youth & Sports, Karnataka State Football Association and the Bangalore District Football Association. Referees from the football body will officiate the matches which will be played over 25 minutes per game. A total prize money of Rs.1 lac will be given away for the last four teams.
This apart, there will also be individual prizes for the best performers in the tournament. Entry for the tournament is free on both days.
Bengaluru FC launches Soccer Schools in city
25.03.2014: BENGALURU FC PRESS RELEASE : Bengaluru FC, on Tuesday, announced the launch of the Bengaluru FC Soccer Schools - the club’s newest venture aimed at promoting and supporting football at the grassroots level. In a press conference addressed by Bengaluru FC CEO Mustafa Ghouse, head coach Ashley Westwood, head of youth development Richard Hood and striker Robin Singh, the club laid out the plans for the Soccer Schools, the first of which kicks off on April 20 at Bellandur. The BFC Soccer Schools is the third property launched by the club after the BFC Day Out and the BFC Bazaar.
Designed by the coaching staff at the club, the Soccer Schools will, for now, be open to children in the under-7, 9 and 11 age categories. Speaking at the launch, Ghouse said, "Announcing the BFC Soccer Schools is a very special moment for everyone at the club. This is the first step and we are certain about the Soccer Schools expanding to more parts of the city and eventually, the country."
While the under-7s will have two batches, two times a week, the under-9s and under-11s will have three sessions a week. There will also be designated days for practice games. Talented youngsters coming out of the Schools even stand the chance to get a look in to the club’s elite academy.
"I've come through an academy myself and completely understand the importance of one if you are to develop as a player. It's wonderful to be part of a club that is promoting the grassroots at the right age and the future is surely bright for the children who are part of the program," said Singh who is a product of the Tata Football Academy.

Kohima Komets wins 5th Swagath Chizami Cup 2014
Kohima, April 27 : Kohima Komets on Saturday today beat Wings FC Chizami Town to annexed the 5th Swagath Chizami Cup 2014 held here at Chizami Local Ground under Phek district. The winning goal for Kohima Komets came through Senenlo Kath in the sixth minute of the game.
With the win, Kohima Komets walked away with a cash prize of Rs. 1,50,000 along with trophy and citation. The runner up, Wings FC Chizami Town, was awarded a cash prize of Rs. 80,000. Halcyon United Pfutsero came third and pocketed a cash prize of Rs. 25,000. Earlier, Kiusumong Tikhir, SDO (C) Chizami graced the closing ceremony as the guest of honour. Life Sports Nagaland director Colo Mero gave the closing remarks while the function was chaired by Mhetshelo Kapfo, co-chairman organizing committee.
Organized by Life Sports Nagaland, Chizami Cup is a registered tournament of Nagaland Football Association. Chizami Cup seeks to transform the youth and community through developing football in Nagaland with special focus on rural areas since 2010.

10.04.2014: Xavier Rutsa : The 5th Swagath Chizami Cup will be held from Apirl 22 to May 3 at Chizami, orgainzed by Life Sports, Nagaland. CHIZAMI CUP, an undertaking of Life Sports seeks to transform the youth and community through developing football in Nagaland with special focus on rural areas since 2010. Winning the annual open club football tournament, registered under the Nagaland Football Association (NFA) has become a dream for many a footballer.
The total prize money for the tournament is Rs.3.34 Lakhs, and is set to become the highest in the State. The running trophy, imported from Bangkok, Thailand, made of pewter metal with gold linings is worth more than Rs.30,000 donated by Mehuchumvu Foundation Chizami.
Around 600 footballers representing teams from across the State and beyond participate in the tournament every year. The event is also an initiative to encourage and develop club football in the State.
A pleasant drive through the picturesque 88 kms journey to Chizami, a Sub-Divisional HQ in Phek District is only 3 hours away from Kohima.

08.06.2014: 1st SEMI KASHMIR INVITATION FOOTBALL CUP 2014 - ONGC beat SBT in tie-breaker, Forest-XI and Air India FC postponed
ONGC Football Club reach in the Final of the tournament as they beat SBT 5-3 in tie breaker. The schedule time result was 1-1, and it needed a tie-breaker to decide the winner.
SBT had first success with their striker Nitesh Kumar thumping the ball into the goal post to have their side infront in the 20th minute. But joy could last only four minutes with Noushad helping his side ONGC to make a comeback with an equalizer. In penalty shoot out ONGC scored all 5 penalties but SBT was able to score 3.
The 2nd semifinal clash of tournament between J & K Forest-XI and Air India FC was marred by a scuffle at the Polo Ground here on Sunday, resulting in injuries to an Air India player who was later shifted to hospital. According to a handout issued by JKFA, the match was stopped due to crowd trouble.

JK Bank Football Club suffered a major blow in the ongoing Kashmir Invitation Football Cup after they were defeated by SB Trivencore 2-0 here on Thursday. Mr. N.N Vohra, Governor inaugurated the Kashmir Invitation Football Cup-2014, organized by J&K State Sports Council, at Bakshi Stadium, Srinagar, today. The tournament has been organized by J&K Football Association in collaboration with State Sports Council, Superintendent of Police Bandipora, officers of district administration, NHPC, representatives of Football Association and Sports Council. On the occasion, the Governor was introduced to members of the Organizing Committee and the players of the inaugural match which was played between Air India Football Club XI and Jammu and Kashmir Police XI.
