Thus analysing the course of the I League, it is yet another exclusive from www.kolkatafootball.com with the former TFA, East Bengal, Mohun Bagan and Mohammedan Sporting, Mahindra United, George Telegraph, Bhowanipur SC and Indian International Star striker Dipendu Biswas reflecting his views.

Dipendu Biswas have dominated the Indian football in the 1990's representing the Indian national team on many occasions along with the Bengal state team. Dipendu Biswas is a Football pundit as well as Football expart of TV Channel "News Time" (THE BROADCASTING TV CHANNEL OF I-LEAGUE) who have given his valuable time to us by giving answers to some vital questions yet to be answered regarding the rest 6 round matches of I-LEAGUE.

Question : Which of the I League according to you are exibhiting true team work ?

Dipendu :- Dempo and Prayag are really playing a team game. I must say about the midfield of Dempo Sport Club. Climax Lorence, Clifford Miranda Antony Pereira, Joaquim Abranches they are really playing as a team and not as a individual - helping Dempo to lead the table. Prayag United of Kolkata is another team, who is showing an example of a true team.

Though the team does not have a stellar name, but the combination of the team is really exemplary. I must mention about the combination in defence between Belo Rasak, Arnab Mondal and Deepak Mondal and in the mid field Denson Debadasa, Lal Kamal Bhowmik and Jayanta Sen are playing utility foot ball which is really to look out for.

Question : Apart from Dempo, which team do you think can lift the I League crown ?

Dipendu :- Apart from Dempo sports Club, what I feel is that Mohun Bagan has a very clear chance of winning the I - League - though many things can happen in the last lap. What makes Mohun Bagan favorite is the presence of Odafa Okolie. His individual brilliance has made a lot of differences. What Mohun Bagan is now is only of the Nigerian Striker.

If he is in form, then there is a good chance of Mohun Bagan of wining this year Title. Another important aspect which makes Mohun Bagan favorite is that they are to play against the league table topper Dempo in their own home ground, and Dempo are to play a number of matches outside Goa. So as an added advantage Mohun Bagan has a genuine chance in the final lap.

Question : Who are the dark horses of the tournament according to you ?

Dipendu :- This year Salgaocar and Pune FC may be the dark horses of the tournament. Last year's champion Salgaocar is another team who has set an example of team game. They had a slow start in this year, but slowly they had climbed the table and now are in the third position with 36 points. Salgaocar is the team who is capable of changing the I-League scenario.

Question : Which of the players have impressed you so far in the I League ?

Dipendu :- Gurpreet Singh of East Bengal has impressed me a lot till now. To me he is the best Goal keeper in this year's I-league. In the defence players like Arnab Mondal of Prayag, Kinshuk Debnath of Mohan Bagan and Biswajit Saha of Salgaokar are this years invention. Apart from them Dipak Mondal of Prayag, and Sayed Rahim Nabi of Mohan Bagan has performed brilliantly.

In the midfield Adil Khan of Sporting clube, Penn Orji of East Bengal, Antony Perreira of Dempo and Sheikh Jewel Raja of Mohun Bagan enjoyed their dominance this season. But in the forward line like last two years the talismans are Odafa of Mohun Bagan and Ranti Martins of Dempo sports Club.

Question : How would you distinguish the class of the foreigners during your time and now ?

Dipendu :- During our time apart from Yusuf Yakubu, Chima Okorie, Barreto and Omelo the foreigners who played in the I-league were not classy enough. At that time East Bengal, Mohun Bagan and Mahindra United would recruit foreigners only.

But now the foreigners who are coming to play in the I-league are really of good potential who are the making the differences and according to the rule of AIFF all the teams are introducing foreigners. Odafa of Mohun Bagan, Tolgey Ozbay and Penn Orji of East Bengal, Ken Vincent of Prayag, Beto of Churchill brothers, Ranty Martins of Dempo and James Moga of Sporting Clube are really class players who play in the I-league.

Question : How is the failure of dearth in homegrown players are affecting the Indian team and who according to you are the future of Indian football?

Dipendu :- It is really a concern for us that the Indian strikers are not coming up, which is reflecting in the Indian squad also. I would like to mention that the Indian strikers are failing to prove them selves in tough competitions. But still then, Jeje of Pune F.C, Joacquim Abranches of Dempo are the future of the Indian strikers which we have seen in this years I-league.

Question : According to you who are the genuine leaders of different teams?

Dipendu :- Deepak Mondal of Prayag United is really a leader. He lead the Prayag United defence successfully. Mehtab Hossain of East Bengal has got a good leadership quality. But this year due to injury of Mehtab, East Bengal had to suffer a lot. Beto of Churchil Brothers is successfully playing the role of a leader he is the main architect in the team.

The all utility man of Indian football, Syed Rahim Nabi has got a good leadership quality, who can encourage his team and can lead the team from the up front. This year I have seen Adil khan of Sporting clube to act as a leader. This quality of Adil has paved the way for him to represent India in the AFC challenge Cup.

Question : How is the standard of refereeing in the I League and what are the measures that should be undertaken by the AIFF to improve it ?

Dipendu :- The standard of the Refereeing is really horrible. The league committee should encourage and organize the important matches with the reputed referees of abroad. They should organize and supervise the clinics for the referees development. The facilities which our Indian referees are enjoying is not up to the mark. The AIFF should make a comfortable facility for the referees's development.
