MFC PRESS RELEASE : Mumbai FC are eager to build on their winning run when they take on Mohun Bagan in an I-League Round-14 encounter at the Salt Lake Stadium in Kolkata on Wednesday. A re-energized Mumbai FC side has been in top form recently beating heavyweights East Bengal 3-2 and then Pune FC 2-1 to clinch the Maha-Derby in the last two games.

Mumbai FC (14 pts) are currently locked with Mohun Bagan (8th) and East Bengal (7th) on points. But with goal-difference coming into picture in a three-way tie, Mumbai FC are ninth behind the two Kolkata-giants. Thus, a win on Wednesday will propel Mumbai FC into the top-half of the table as the league enters its second-phase.

Coach Khalid Jamil has been very satisfied with the team's performance during the last week and expects a similar display against Bagan. In the interim, Jamil has also praised the influence the new and experienced players have had on the team and expects them to lead from the front. On matchday, a lot will depend on the attacking trio of strikers Yusif Yakubu, Mohammed Rafi and medio N. P. Pradeep. Yakubu and Pradeep have been in top form getting their names on the scoresheet in both previous games.

On the team news front, midfielder and Afghan-international Ahmad Arash Hatifie returns to the squad after serving his one game suspension for a sending off against East Bengal and may start in the midfield.

New arrival, defender Sandesh Jhingan, too has settled into the team and will form a strong backline along with Anwar Ali, Khelemba Meetei and Haroon Amiri. The defense will need to be at its best as they face Bagan's strike force consisting of Nigerian Odafa Okolie and Christopher Chizoba who shared three goals between them in the previous game.

There aren't any major injury concerns ahead of the game and majority of the players are available for selection. Over the years, both sides have met twelve times with Bagan winning six compared to Mumbai FCs three wins. Mumbai FC will be keen on improving this record whilst also taking revenge for a 1-0 loss at home earlier in the season.

I-League Round 14 Preview: League Leaders Face Mohammedan Sporting At Salt Lake Stadium.

BFC PRESS RELEASE : Bengaluru FC kick off the first of their reverse legs in the I-League when they take on Mohammedan Sporting at the Salt Lake Stadium, in an afternoon kick-off, on Wednesday. The last meeting between the two sides ended in a 2-1 win for Ashley Westwood's team and the Englishman would bank on the fine away form his team have hit, to pull off a double over the Kolkata club. The Blues ha

ve made the trip to Kolkata on the back of a confidence-inducing 1-3 win at Churchill Brothers last week and would be keen to keep the momentum going given the fact that only three points separate second-placed Sporting Clube de Goa from the leaders.

The Sunil Chhetri-led team is on a three-game win streak with the skipper himself leading from the front with four goals in two games. Meamwhile, Mohammedan have too have a streak going - three goalless draws on the trot that leaves them at 10th position on the table.

However, Westwood knows better than to take Bengaluru's opponents lightly. "It may be the second time we are playing Mohammedan but they have a set of new players since then so we aren't looking at the first game as any indication. For us, this is a separate occasion. Neither side has an advantage over the other and we've both got to respect each other's squads," said Westwood.

In a bid to make the most of their return to top-flight football count, Mohammedan recently roped in six players on loan from the IMG-R that include Nirmal Chhetri, Ishfaq Ahmed, Mehrajuddin Wadoo, Luis Barreto, Syed Rahim Nabi and Manish Maithani and coach Bola Masood hopes the additions will come good as soon as possible.

After a disappointing set of results away from home, Bengaluru FC put to rest that belief that they do only well only in Bangalore, coming away with six points from their last two outings and Westwood believes it was always in the coming. "We started off our away games with two losses and a draw but I was never really concerned given the perfomances the boys turned up with in those games. It's all about sticking to our plan and being consistent."

This is to inform that the Executive Committee Members of Mohun Bagan Athletic Club have taken a decision on 9th December 2013 to hold a Condolence Meeting in the Memory of Legend Footballer Late Bidyut Majumder on 12th December 2013 at 4:30 pm at Mohun Bagan Athletic Club Tent, Maidan.

I-League Round 14 Preview: Rangdajied United Look To Register First Home Win

10.12.2013 : KFC. | HOME PAGE

RUFC PRESS RELEASE : Rangdajied United FC will look to register their second win of the season when they host Pune FC in another mouth-watering clash at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Shillong on Wednesday evening. Luckily for the football lovers of the city, bandh called by the pro ILP activists, have been relaxed to let the football aficionados throng the stadium to watch their team in action. The match is slated for a 5 PM kick-off as usual and tickets for the match will be available at the counters in the stadium.

Having registered their first win against Mohun Bagan before going down to East Bengal last weekend, Rangdajied will be looking to grab their first 3 points at home. With almost everyone in the squad fit, Santosh Kashyap will have his best men at his disposal, giving him a problem of plenty. Former Pune FC striker, Edmar Figuiera, who will be pitted against his old team may also get to feature in the game, after missing out couple of matches due to injury. Kim Song Yong, after getting his first goal against East Bengal, will look to unsettle the Pune FC defence.

Skipper Eugeneson will pull the string in the midfield along with experience Tomba Singh, likely to be aided by David Ngaihte and Joy Chandra on either side. The backline will have the experienced Gouramangi Singh and Lamine Tamba in the center, covered on either side by Yohei Iwasaki and Thomas Saikhom. Pratik Chaudury may also fit in.

Meanwhile Pune FC will be eager to bounce back to their winning ways after their Maha-Derby debacle. The I-League runners-up have not had the best of run since going into the international break in November. Much like Rangdajied, Pune have managed just 6 points in their last 6 outings. Though Randajied had climbed a place during these phase, the Red Lizards have dropped a place to 3rd. So, they are bound to come really hard at the Blues.

In their last meeting in October at the Balewadi Sports Complex, Pune triumphed over the Shillong side, courtesy of a Callum Agnes strike. But since then, Rangdajied United is a changed team, having added much quality in their arsenal. The positives for the side is that, they have been scoring more regularly then when they started, netting in all their last five games. A tighter defensive line and a little more creative midfield against Pune FC can win the Blues their first match at home.
