Ten men Sporting Clube de Goa was held to a goalless draw by Royal Wahingdoh in the HERO I-League at PJN Stadium, Fatorda on Tuesday. Sporting Goa created three great chances in the opening five minutes, with Odafa Okoli, Anthony Wolfe and Victorino Fernandes coming close. Royal Wahingdoh were literally pinned back into their own half for the whole of the first half.

In the second second session Wahingdoh started to open up a little and play with some risk. Sporting Goa upped the tempo midway through the half with the introduction of creative midfielder Brandon Fernandes . In the closing stages, Sporting Goa was reduced to ten men when defender Jovel Martins was sent off after receiving his second yellow card.

PREVIEW - SCG PRESS RELEASE : In what is set to be a pulsating battle, Sporting Clube de Goa take on Royal Wahingdoh FC in the HERO I-League at PJN Stadium, Fatorda on Tuesday. The kick off time is 4.30pm. Sporting Goa were recently held to a 2-2 draw by fellow Goan outfit Dempo Sports Club, while Wahingdoh were involved in a 3-3 thriller with Bengaluru FC.

The teams had clashed in the Federation Cup in January where Sporting Goa won 2-1, but when the two sides met in the I-League in February, Wahingdoh won 2-0. Jackichand Singh is the leading scorer for Wahingdoh with 4 goals, while Sporting Clube de Goa captain Anthony Wolfe has also netted 4 goals so far.
