Another edition of the Kenkre FC organised "Go Green Cup 2012" turned out to be a roaring success at the Dadar Parsi Colony Gymkhana Grounds, Dadar (East) Mumbai, India. Kenkre FC is the 2nd Divn I-League team from Maharashtra who have their own Football Academy in Mumbai.

Boisterous excitement and innocent melodrama was on show as over 3000 children between 8-16 years of age took part in the tournament. The Cup witnessed participation of teams from schools and clubs spread across the city.

In fact, for the first time a NGO - Oscar Foundation - had a podium finish, bagging the Runners Up trophy in the U12 category. Spurred on by friends and family, the thrill hit a peak as winning teams got to shake hands with chief guest Mr. Haroon Fakruddin Amiri, the Afghanistan National Football Team Captain, and the Guest of honor Mr. Abhishek Yadav, India International Football Player.

In the Tournament Each winning team was presented with Rs.20,000/- while each runner-up team took away Rs.12,000/- as prize money. The cash prize was Rs.7,000/- for third placed teams and Rs.5,000/- for the fourth placed teams.

The Go Green Cup is a community-based football tournament for children, initiated by the Kenkre Sports Foundation. Having entered its third year in 2012, the tournament is fast becoming a key date on the calendar for a legion of growing children in love with football. Using the pure joy of playing football as the background, the tournament aims to impress upon children the importance of teamwork and the awareness about Mother Nature.

Change The Game : Pepsi India introducing T20 Football in India...

World Famous Soft Drinks Company Pepsico India, has launched Pepsi T20 Football. It's will be a 7-a-side football of 20-minute knock-out event. The proposed Football Matches will be organised in Chennai, Bengaluru, Kolkata, Mumbai, Lucknow, Ludhiana and New Delhi. The event is for amateurs between 14 and 30 years. It is proposed to have 64 teams from each city.

The Winners of the tournament will get a chance to play the Pepsi T20 tournament against players from the Indian cricket team along with getting an opportunity of being coached by an international football star. A total of 8 teams, including 1 winning team from each city and 1 wild card entry will compete to decide the overall winner which will be declared the "Game changers".

The registration process for the tournament begins in Chennai today (14 March) and will continue till June. Out of 64 teams from each city, the top 32 will compete in the respective city finales. Matches will be organised in Chennai, Bengaluru, Kolkata, Mumbai, Lucknow, Ludhiana and New Delhi.

The tournament will be supported by a 360-degree campaign including on-air, outdoor, on-ground initiatives, special edition packaging and digital engagement programmes. Pepsi has partnered with ESPN Star Sports, who will produce and showcase the tournament through an eight episode series, starting April 2012.

Pepsi recently introduced Bollywood Star Ranbir Kapoor in an advertisement showing Football. An avid Football fan Ranbir Kapoor also associated with this Tournament with Pepsi and he said "Being a football enthusiast, I am glad an initiative has been taken to popularise the sport amongst the youth of our country. I am proud to be associated with it and confident that Youngistaan will enjoy the new Pepsi T20 Football format".
