3rd A.R.Khan Memorial Inter- School Football Tournament-2013 - LAST YEAR'S RUNNERS-UP APJ SCHOOL, NOIDA SCORE BIG WIN DAY-3

Last Year's runners- up Apeejay (APJ) School, Noida scored a 9-0 big win over Prabita Vidalya, Ghaziabad in a second round match of the 3rd A.R.Khan Memorial Inter-School Football Tournament-2013 being held at Dr.Ambedkarkar Stadium heretoday.

The highlight of this match was a fine hat-trick scored by striker Ishwar who struck in 14th, 17th and 45th mintue of the proceedings. The other scorers were Aditya Lakshar (4th and 16th mintue ), Amardeep (15th mt ), Karan (18th mintue ), Dev Priyo (37th mintue ) and Satvik (49th mintue ).

There will be no match of the tournament till Sunday following I-League match of ONGC against Mumbai FC on April 20. The matches will be resumbed on Monday.

BDFA RELEASE : Don Bosco, Matunga made a winning start to their campaign, defeating Greenwood International High School, Bangalore 2-0 in the inter-city leg of the 3rd Mahindra Youth Football Challenge, which kicked off at the Bangalore Football Stadium on Wednesday. Pierre Noronha and Nathan Fernandes scored for the winners in the 33rd and 43rd minutes of the game, with Fernandes later being named rthe Star Performer of the match.

In other matches, Kolkata's Ashoknagar Vidyasagar Banibhaban routed Panjim's Don Bosco High School 5-0, while Calicut based St. Joseph's High School beat Delhi Public School from Vasant Kunj, New Delhi 2-1.

A brace of goals each by Sanjib Malakar and Dipankar Baral, and one by Santanu Debnath featured in the Kolkata teamís big win. Suman Dutta was the Star Performer for his inspiring on-field performance.

For St. Joseph's High School, Calicut, Javed Hassan and Leon Augustine scored a goal each, while Sanat Gupta was the lone scorer for the New Delhi team. Lazim Ali from Kerala was recognized as the Star Performer of the match.

India's best under-14 football players from leading schools across six Indian cities are here to battle it out in the tournament.

The Mahindra Youth Football Challenge is the Mahindra Group's commitment to promote football at the grassroots level. The company has partnered with Scottish football giant Celtic Football Club, who is taking on the responsibility of training and developing young talent identified through the initiative.

Delhi Public School, Mathura Road and Ryan Public School, Ghaziabad defeated their opponents to advance to the next round of 3rd A.R. Khan Memorial Inter - School Football Tournament being held at Dr. Ambedkar Stadium heretoday.

In the 1st match, DPS, Mathura Road defeated Govt. Boys Sarvodaya Vikas Rajgarh School, Ghaziabad 3-1. The highlight of this match was a fine brace scored by Sartik Srivastva of DPS who struck in 35th and 52nd mintue while Vidant Gupta opened score 1-0 in 3rd mintue.

Sunny pulled back one (1-1) for the loosers in 6th mintue Sartik Srivastva was adjudged man of the match award. Later on, Ryan Public School, Ghaziabad prevailed over Govt. Boys Sr. Sec. School No.1, Moti Bagh 1-0. Harisht clinched match winner in 39th mintue. Suuny received man of the match award.
