AFC Pro License course by AIFF starts at Mumbai with 14 coaches.

The first-ever AFC Professional Diploma License Course in India starts at the Cooperage Football Ground in Mumbai from July 8, 2013. 14 football coaches from the country with some foreign coaches who are involved in Indian football attent the course. The course will be conducting module one of the course from July 8-28 July.

National Coach Wim Koevermans a reputed UEFA Pro-Licence Instructor in Europe, will be the Course Instructor. From July 24-28 he will be assist by Mr. Bader Ahmed Shah, facilitator from the Asian Football Confederation (AFC). Indian Sr.Team coach Dutch man Robert Bann also be presented duting the programme.

What is the AFC Professional Coaching Diploma course?

The AFC Professional Coaching Diploma course is for coaches who hold the 'A' Coaching Certificate as a minimum requirement. It is designed to teach the highest standards for club and national team levels. The course aims at producing coaches at the highest level and identifying future instructors. It is a complex course that consists of 4 modules, with a total duration of at least 380 hours. It covers practical and theoretical sessions, and requires club attachments abroad and/or a club/team attachment usually at the country of origin of each student with log book entries of training sessions, results, match analyses and comments. Further requirements include the submission of a dissertation of a minimum of 5000 words on a given topic, final examination on the theoretical and practical aspects of football, and an oral examination.

For countries participating in the Asian Champions League, AFC offers a special Professional Diploma course (compact course) that requires a minimum of 220 hours.

Participation criteria for the AFC Professional Coaching Diploma course:

AFC 'A' Coaching Certificate
Coaching a professional/elite club or attached to the National Team
Physically and medically fit
Must be able to participate in both the Practical and Theoretical sessions
Under 45* years of age
Literacy (reading and writing)
English language (compulsory for continental courses; compulsory when required for regional courses)
Log book (minimum 100 coaching hours)

India to play Tajikistan Friendly on August 14.

AIFF PRESS RELEASE :All India Football Federation confirms an International Friendly for the Men's Senior National Team against Tajikistan on August 14, 2013. The match will be played at the 20 Years of Independence Stadium in Khujand, a 50 minutes Flight from Tajikistan's Capital City Dushanbe. National Coach Wim Koevermans said India "needed to play an International Friendly" especially after the trip to London got cancelled.

"Our trip to London where we were supposed to play three matches got cancelled. Hence, I had to find a match for the Senior Team in August," National Coach Wim Koevermans told "We would be playing on August 14, a day prior to India's Independence Day. As we couldn't play at Home, we decided to play overseas," he added.

"Going into the SAFF Championships, we needed to play a strong side. Tajikistan are a very powerful side," he maintained. Tajikistan are presently ranked 106 in the FIFA Rankings in comparison to India ranked 146 as per the latest July 2013 Rankings.

"Apart from the Players travelling to Tajikistan we'll probably be calling in extra Players for the Training Camp in Bangalore prior to the SAFF Championships," Koevermans informed. "We plan to travel to Kathmandu a bit early to allow everyone to acclimatise to the higher altitude," he stated.

The dates for the Bangalore Camp haven't been finalised while the SAFF Championship kicks-off in Kathmandu on September 1, 2013. "We may be calling in some new Players whom I had planned to take to England but it didn't happen. Hopefully, everyone stays fit and free from injuries," he added.

KSFA PRESS RELEASE : Karnataka Football Association or KSFA Annual General Body Meeting held on 7-7-2013 Sunday at.11.30 am at Bangalore Football Stadium. In the AGM KSFA President as well as I-League Committee Chairman Mr. A.R.Khaleel announced to August body regarding the Jindal Group applied for the Affiliation for Professional Football club (JSW) as Bangalore Based Team. AIFF given approval for JSW.

August body unanimously accepted the proposal and wholeheartedly welcomed.

Punjab Football: Super League 2013 may start in August with 8 teams.

PFA PRESS RELEASE : Punjab Football Super Division League will start soon, probably in August. Vijay Bali Asst. Secretary of Punjab Football Association has informed us that this year two more teams will participate in the Tpurnament. The teams are Dalbir Football Academy (Punjabi University) Patiala and United Punjab Football Club, Mahilpur. The other teams are BSF, Punjab Police, JCT Academy, RCF, CRPF and Punjab State Power Corporation Ltd Footbal Team.

In this regards a meeting of Super League Committee and Representatives of all participating clubs will be held on Thursday the 11th July, 2013 in PFA's office where to decide dates, venues, teams, fixtures etc and other aspects of the league.


JCT Football Academy will play in an invitational All India Football Tournament to be played at Mandi, Himachal Pradesh from 12th July.
