Brazil Vs Italy Confed Cup Referee Ravshan also was the referee in Kolkata Derby....


...Can you identify the gentlemen ? Yes, the football lovers of Kolkata may remember him. He is 35 year old Uzbek School Football Instructor Ravshan IRMATOV who supervised yesterday's most high profile match of Confederation Cup. The match between the 5 times World Champion Brazil and 4 times World Champion Italy in Group League last match of Group 'A' . The World Football Fans watched him in action yesterday in Television or from Ground,but the football Fans of Kolkata watched him at Salt Lake Stadium more than one and half years ago.

The referee from Uzbekistan has successfully and uncontroversially supervised one of the derby match in Indian football between East Bengal and Mohun Bagan in the CFL in the year 2011-12..The first foreign referee introduced in Kolkata derby in the 18th August 2005 when Dave Roberts of England came to the city of Joy. Mohan Bagan over come their arch rivals by a solitary goal scored by Gley Yao Rodrigue in the 17th minute of the match.Gamini Nivon Robesh of Sri lanka supervised a Kolkata Derby in 26th November 2010 when East Bengal won by a brace of Robin Singh in 12th and 59th minute. But this man from Uzbekistan is the most high profile referee who had supervised a football match in Indian soil. In 7th January 2012 At the YBK Mohan Bagan won in the important Derby by a margin of 2-0 scored by Odafa in the 22nd minute and by Manish Bhargav in the 28 minute.

.Ravshan who was the referee in the opening match between South Africa and Mexico in FIFA world cup 2010 and also the 4th Referee of the match between Argentina and Germany and took charge of the FIFA Club World Cup final in 2008. IN FIFA WORLD CUP 2010 he got 5 matches includling one and a semifinal match.

Ravshan Irmatov also the referee of AFC Asian cup Final match between Australia and japan on 29th january at the Khalifa Stadiumat Doha, Qatar. Irmatov who has won the AFC Referee of the Year accolade three times in a row - 2008, 2009 and 2010 is one of the best known names in the world of refereeing.

He was the youngest referee in the FIFA SOUTH AFRICA WORLD CUP 2010. His brilliant performances in the 2010 World Cup in South Africa won widespread praise.

Ravshan was the Referee in FIFA CLUB WORLD CLUB FINAL between Santos and Barcelona and in 2010 FIFA WORLD CUP qr. Final match between Argentina and Germany. Both times the match result was 4 - 0. Barca won 4-0 and Germany won 4-0 also. Ravshan is attached with a Football Academy in his country. His father was also a Fottball Referee.

GFA PRESS RELEASE : One to one discussions with referees of the South and Match Commissioners will be held, after the morning practices, at the Nehru Stadium on the 30th of June and the 7th of July 2013. The discussions with referees of the North and the Match Commissioners will be held after the morning practices at the GFA’s Duler Complex on the 14th of July 2013. Referees and Match Commissioners are requested to attend.

A Seminar for Match Commissioners will be held at the Rosary Hall, Navelim, starting at 2.30.p.m. on the 13th of July 2013. All Match Commissioners are requested to attend.

A fitness test for all referees will be held on the 21st of July 2013, starting at 6.30.a.m, at the Navelim Ground. All referees must compulsorily undergo the test. A bus will leave from the Mapusa Bus Stand at 5.30.a.m., and from the Hira Petrol Pump in Panjim at 5.45.a.m.

A seminar for referees will be held at Don Bosco in Panjim, on the 28th of July 2013, starting at 9.00.a.m. All referees are requested to attend and report at 8.30.a.m

/mohun Bagan Academy will play in the Bhutan Kings Cup.

2013 Kings Cup, Bhutan will be held at the Changlimithang stadium in Thimphu from July 20 to August 6. Teams participating in the 2013 Kings Cup which will be held in Thimphu from 20th July-6th August.

After 2004 it will be the 2nd edition of the Tournament. In 2004 Thailand team Bec tero Sasana won the Tournament beat Manang Marsyangdi Club (Kathmandu) 3-0. In the first Edition Calcutta Customs participated in the Tournament.

In this year nine teams from Bangladesh, Nepal, India and Bhutan will be participated. The competition will be played on a league cum knock out basis for 15 matches total.

Bhutan: Thimphu City FC and Yeedzin FC
Bangladesh: Brothers Union an Team BJMC
India: United Sikkim FC and Mohun Bagan Academy
Nepal: Laxmi Hyundai Manang Marsyangdi Club, NMB Machhindra FC and New Road Club

SfA PRESS RELEASE : Forests Department has retained its champion status in the Inter-Departmental Football Tournament. In the final match played on 20th June 2013 at Paljor Stadium, Gangtok, the defending champion defeated Power Department 2-1 to lift the trophy for the second consecutive year.

The tournament had the participation of 24 departments of the Government of Sikkim. In the final both the team played their heart to a strong presence of government employees cheering for their respective teams.

It may not be out of place to mention here that Sikkim organises 2(two) unique football tournament viz. Inter-Constituency Football Tournament (January) and Inter-Departmental Football Tournament (June) every year.

Dawa Norbu got the early lead for Power department in the 10th minute, but Karma Lodey leveled the score in the 24th minute. The first half ended at the scores level. Soon in the second half Bhaichung Lachenpa scored the winning goal for the Forest Department in the 48th minute.

While Shri Ugen T. Gyatso, MLA who is also the Chief Whip of the Government of Sikkim was the Chief Guest on the occasion, the guest of honors were Shri B.K. Roka, President, SFA and Shri Menla Ethenpa, General Secretary, Sikkim FA and and the Football I-Con of India Shri Bhaichung Bhutia.

AIFF PRESS RELEASE : The I-League and Federation Cup Committee Meeting, involving representatives from all Clubs and Federation Officials, will take place at the All India Football Federation (AIFF) Headquarters, Football House in Dwarka on June 26. All matters pertaining to the I-League and the Federation Cup would be discussed extensively and finalised on the day.

I-League CEO Mr. Sunando Dhar feels the Meeting will be a 'fruitful one.' "I would like to take this opportunity to welcome on board the two new I-League Clubs - Mumbai Tigers and JSW Sports as well as the two promoted Clubs - Mohammedan Sporting and Rangdajied FC. We are hopeful the four new entrants will help the I-League become a better product.
