ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING OF Runjab football Association : See Details below

PFA PRESS RELEASE : Annual General Body Meeting of Punjab Football Association was held today in the Conference Hall of Punjab Football Association, which was presided over by Mr.Puneet Verma, Senior Vice President of Punjab Football Association, as Mr.Samir Thapar, President was unable to attend this meeting due to his pre-engagements in some important business affairs in abroad. Earlier this meeting was called for 26th June, 2013 but since Mr.Thapar was in abroad and he has instructed to plan this meet on 28th June, 2013 as by then he had the plan to return.

In the meanwhile, Mr.Parminder Singh, (Asian Star), Honorary Secretary of PFA was also not available as he had already left for Canada, thus in his place Mr.Shivtar Singh Bajwa, Vice President and Mr.Vijay Bali, Asst. Secretary have taken us the agenda items. In this meeting out of total 19 district units representatives of two districts were absent : i.e. Mansa & Gurdaspur, whereas out of affiliated clubs representatives of BSF & RCF were absent.

After making formal start of the meeting in items like: Roll Call, Welcome address by Chairperson, Confirmation of last AGMs meeting minutes, last EXCO meet minutes, Mr.Vijay Bali presented the Annual Report of PFA for the last year, in which he has explained to house the details regarding National and State affairs of Punjab Teams with stats of Punjab Teams in all National Championships, Sub Junior & Santosh Trophy etc. as also the details and stats of Punjab Championships including State Super League and II Division League, which was unanimously accepted and adopted by the house.

Thereafter a detailed presentation was made by Mr.Vijay Bali regarding Statutes (Constitution) of PFA, which has been revised and amended by PFA in line with AIFF, before the house and discussed in details the major changes arrived at by amendment in the Constitution, which was unanimously accepted, approved adopted by the house with immediate effect.

Sports Calendar for the year 2013-2014 of both AIFF and PFA were discussed and all state championship dates were decided in accordance with AIFF Calendar in order to avoid any clash. Thereafter disciplinary measures arisen out in State Championship were discussed with regard to non-participation in 3rd place play-off match by Hoshiarpur DFA at State Senior Tier-II competition held at Bassi Pathana in March, 2013 and non-holding of Tier-I Competition of State Championships which were assigned to DFA Amritsar, DFA Faridkot etc. which were imposed fine according to provisions of PFA norms.

After tea break, meeting proceeded towards agenda items, Mr. Kuldip Singh, Asst. Secretary taken up the agenda item regarding Refereeing, as he has been looking after this department inside PFA and he has updated the house on refereeing matter. Thereafter Mr.Shivtar Singh Bajwa, informed the house that in view of the changes arrived at in PFA constitution, we have revised the formation of PFA bodies (Standing & ad-hoc Committees) and Judicial Bodies and a list of those committees duly approved by President for the remaining tenure was presented before the house and a copy of which was also circulated to the members.

While allotting State Championship, the format of Championship was changed on the behest of the members present in the house. Sub Junior was allotted to DFA Fatehgarh Sahib (to be held in Bassi Pathana), Junior was assigned to DFA-Barnala and State Senior was assigned to DFA-Jalandhar. Grassroots League was left un-assigned keeping in view that it is to be played by Grassroots academies of Punjab, so it would be assigned to one of those academies with mutual understanding in a separate meeting of the Grassroots Development Committee or by PFA Secretariat.

Thereafter, Mr.Shivtar Singh Bajwa asked Mr.Vijay Bali to take up next agenda item regarding official football website of PFA. Mr.Bali informed the house that although the website is developed by PFA, we are not getting regular news feeds and other updates from our members and he requested the members present in the house that each member should send us news updates on regular basis so that those are made online.

Mr.Shivtar Singh Bajwa, informed the house that Spartan has been sponsor of PFA Sports kits for the last so many years and on persuasion of Spartan company we have decided to declare "Spartan Football" as "Official Ball" of PFA in all State Championship. On this Mr.Amit Sharma, Partner of Spartan Sports Industries, who was also present in the house, assured the house the "Spartan" would continue to provide usual support to PFA in all its affairs. Thus the house has unanimously accepted the proposal of Mr.Bajwa and "Spartan Football" was declared "Official Ball" of PFA for all State Championships.

Meeting then proceeded towards other items, with the permission of Chair Mr.Shivtar Singh Bajwa thanked the JCT Management for providing adequate quantity of footballs for onward distribution to all district units @ 40 nos. of footballs to each district unit. Mr.Shivtar Singh Bajwa, requested the Chairperson Mr.Puneet Verma, who is also Vice President (HR &IR) in JCT Limited, that JCT had been contributing financial assistance to the host DFA for each State Championship every year, but for the last few years it has stopped such grant and he expressed his hope that JCT would survive and continue to support for this noble cause of sport.

On this Mr.Puneet Verma assured the house that he would definitely talk to Mr.Thapar Thapar in this regard so that this financial assistance is survived for all state championships. The meeting was ended with vote of thanks and it was followed by Lunch at Bungalow No.A-2 in JCT.

FOOTBALL HIMACHAL : All District Football Festival starts.

Himachal Pradesh Football Association organised State level football Festival Sr.Category at Palrasu. In the Festival State Organisation and District Organisation of Himachal Predesh worked together. The teams came around the State of Himachal. State Football Association General Secretary Deepak Sharma told Most of all District have participated in the Festival except Kinnaur as the bad weather there in the same time. The rest of the teams from all districts of the state have participated in the sports festival.

He said the sports festival will continue until July. Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh will be the main attraction in the closing ceremony of the Festival. Other than the hon'ble Chief Ministers, Mr. Amilpal Singh, president of the Himachal Pradesh Football Association will honor the winner and runner-up teams.

In the Tournament which already started in the Valley from Friday, the first match of the tournament was played between Una and Kullu. Kullu defeated 5-1 by the UNA. Una's scorers were Anil Dutta in 1 minute and Chandan in 18th and 44 th minute of the match, Gaurav scored two goals in the 30th and 31st minute match, while the only goal of Kulu scored by Rajat Patel in the 45th minute of the match.

In the 2nd Match, Solan beat Lahaul Sporting 7-2. The scorers of Solan were Kuldeep Thakur and Kanwar brace, while Naved Ansari, Akash, Mayur Mehta scored each and for the team Lahaul Rohan Vorpa and Suraj scored the goals.

The third match of the tournament was played between Sirmour and Chamba. Sirmaur won 5-0. Rakesh flier scored hattrick as he scored in the 9th and 16th and 57 th minute of the match, Pawan Thakur mark the 39th and 66th minute scores.
