Ligue 1 and Ligue 2 clubs to strike over French government's super tax

French football clubs will stage a strike first time in 40 years at the end of next month in protest at the French government's super tax. Government plans to tax top earners 75 percent who earn more than one million euros per year..

Jean-Pierre Louvel, the president of the professional clubs' union told strike will affect the round of Ligue 1 and 2 matches which are due to be played from November 29 to December 2.

Previously first round of matches in the 2010-11 Serie A season in Italy was called off after players went on strike over the failure to agree a collective bargaining agreement between the players' union and the league.

Ligue 1 leaders Paris St Germain are scheduled to host Lyon on Sunday December 1, while cash riched Monaco will face Rennes and Marseille have a home game against Montpellier that weekend.

JAYDIP DASGUPTA : The atmosphere is turning to be electrifying as the second semifinal of the AFC Cup is approaching. The enthusiasm among the East Bengal fans and the football fanatics are rising high on the eve of the most crucial and the high voltage match to be ever played at Kolkata.

The organizers are expecting that there will be more than eighty thousand spectators to be present at Vivekananda Yubabharati Kriangan on Tuesday evening. The tickets amounting Rs 250/- and Rs 200 /- are sold out. East Bengal club has made arrangements to sell some tickets of Rs 100/- for Gate No 2, 3 & 4 from tomorrow morning.

There will be almost 2200 Police personnel along with the Private Securities to maintain law and order situation of the match. The gates will be opened at around two hours before the match. There will be CCTV in the gallery for a continuous monitoring during the match. The East Bengal General Secretary Mr Kalyan Mazumdar has requested the football lovers to support East Bengal wholeheartedly, but to maintain the law and not to create any incidence that may be against the law of the AFC and FIFA. The Sports Minister Mr Madan Mitra is optimistic for a good result.

He has requested all to support East Bengal who is representing India and to pray all to the all might for a favorable result for the Red and Gold. The Governor Of West Bengal Mr M.K. Narayanan will present at the Yubabharati on Tuesday evening as the Chief Guest along with the dignitaries.
In the year 1970 the IFA Shield Final between East Bengal vs PaZ Club of Iran where more than 80,000 fans watched the match at Eden Garden,East Bengal beat Paz Club 1-0 and earn first victory against any foreign club after independent. How many Fans will watch tomorrow's match at Salt Lake?

JAYDIP DASGUPTA : The most crucial football match in the sub continent are going to be kicked off on the 22nd. Although Kuwait SC are having the advantage of two goals lead and are the defending champions , but Marin Ion, the coach of Kuwait SC feels that his team are still under pressure. He said that we are not accustomed to play in the artificial turf but as a professional football team we are confident to be successful after two days of training.

"It is going to be a very interesting and difficult match for both sides, but I am confident that my players will have full concentration for the entire game. It will be a pleasure playing in front of a packed stadium." He added while addressing to the media at Kolkata today.

It seems that all hopes are gone when East Bengal are down by 4-0 just after the break. The sense change dramatically when Uga Opara nods in a corner from Lalte and later on Lalte's brilliant right footed shot beat the Kuwaiti goalkeeper. The equation says that there are chances of the Red and Gold to reach the final if the scoreline remains 2-0 or 3-1 in favor of east Bengal. The match will be of strategies undoubtedly. While East Bengal have to score and target the calculated margin, but Kuwait SC will be trying to keep their citadel unventured.

The Brazilian coach of East Bengal Marcos Phalopa narrated that his boys are fully prepared and ready to give their best tomorrow. "We will going to Fight till the end ". East Bengal coach Phalopa added that Kuwait SC is a strong side and he has instructed his footballers to keep a close eye on Issam Jema and Rogerniho who had made all the damage in the first outing at Kuwait City".

XAVIER RUTSA: Kohima, Oct 21 : The All India Football Federation(AIFF) is organising its second AFC A-Certificate Course of the year, which kicked-off today in the capital of Kerala, Thiruvananthapuram. The Course is being conducted by AIFF Technical Director Robert Baan to begin with and will be succeeded by the Asian Football Confederation's Vincent Subramanium. The Course is being hosted by the Kerala Football Association and will last for 29 days till November 16.

A total of 24 participants have been selected for the Course. The AFC 'A' Coaching Certificate Course is for Coaches who hold both the 'C' and 'B' Coaching Certificates. Selection of participants is based only on the recommendation of the Instructors. The duration of the Course is 27 days, with a minimum of 148 hours.

The Course is designed to educate Coaches in tactical and advanced Technical requirements of teams and team management. Students are examined on the practical and theoretical aspects of the game, and are required to submit and present a dissertation.
