NAGALAND: Xavier Rutsa : 20th edition of Classic Cup will tentatively take place from August 18 to September 6 at Kohima local ground, this was informed by K. Neibou Sekhose, President Classic Club, Kohima. Speaking to a large media gathering t Hotel 2k on Monday evening (May 5), the President announced that the prize money for the Champion will be Rs.1. 50 lakh and Runner-up Rs.70,000.

He also hinted that there could be some changes in the tournament and stated that the details will be inform soon. Neibou also said that special invitation will be sent to all the forme champions till defending champions from 1995 to 2013 to participated in the football tournament.

It is learned that there are 14 teams on the invitee list. Being a Football World Cup year, Club/ team/ society/ association etc are expected to on the rise in taking part in the tournament.

AIFF I-LEAGUE Club Licensing Committee meeting on 21st may

AIFF PRESS RELEASE : All India Football Federation's Club Licensing Committee - First Instance Body - will meet at the AIFF Headquarters in Football House, New Delhi on May 21, 2014.On agenda is the decision to issue the National & AFC Licenses to the License applicants for the 2014/15 Season including newly promoted outfit Royal Wahingdoh will be taken by the above aforementioned body.

The call will be taken on the basis of the documents provided by all the parties concerned and the Inspection conducted by the AIFF Inspection Team in the month of April/May.The Committee comprises of Chairman Dr. Girija Shanker Mungali, FIFA Regional Developmental Officer for South and Central Asia Dr. Shaji Prabhakaran, Advocate Mr. Ushanath Banerjee, and Mr. Punkaj Jain, Chartered Accountant, and Airtel I-League CEO Mr. Sunando Dhar.

Apart from Pune FC who fulfilled the Licensing criteria in the first year itself, all other Clubs were given a one-year exemption to comply with the same for the just-concluded Season.The 14 Clubs in question are Bengaluru FC, Dempo SC, Pune FC, Salgaocar SC, Churchill Brothers, East Bengal, Mohun Bagan, Sporting Clube de Goa, United SC, Mumbai FC, Rangdajied FC, Shillong Lajong FC, and Royal Wahingdoh.

Licensing is an annual process where all clubs eligible to compete based on sporting merit need to have a License under the AIFF's Indian Club Licensing system.

CHARLES D.Souza - Margao-GOA : Most domestic youth tournament are the need of the hour for India of it plans to make a winning debut when it hosts FIFA Under 17 world cup in 2017 ,a former Mohmmedan Sporting Club foootballers. Jamsheed Nassiri who was scouter inthe IFB Boca Football championship at DYSA Ground, Cuncolim on sunday said more state and national level age group competitons in the Under 14, 15, and under 17 Categories are esential to spot the right players for a strong junior national squad for years from now.

The youth teams are the future of football in any country explained Nassiri 'It's an important to have these installation academies to have the right staff and select the riight players. But what we need now are more youth competitons. This is something that IAndia is lacking said the Iranian foootballer. The matra according to Nassiri is simple only if players compete, will they develop.

Training 100hours per week is good, but may not be beneficial as playing in competitions .This one of the aspect that India must look in to to the preparations for the Under 17 world cup and also for the future .He also stessed the need for a proper talent scouting system in place to unearth future stars
