The Indian footballers signed today were central midfielder Darren Caldeira, who had trained for a year with the Valencia CF under-18 team and later joined I-League clubs like Bengaluru FC and Chennai City FC. ATK also welcomed left back Nallappan Mohanraj into the side who had been a part of ATK in 2015 season.
Chennaiyin FC sign six AIFF Elite Academy graduates
PART - 61 (ISL) : 30.08.2017 : Chennaiyin FC is delighted to announce that they have signed six graduates from the AIFF Elite Academy. Goalkeeper Samik Mitra (16, West Bengal), defenders Joseph Sanglura (17, Mizoram) and Lalliansanga Renthlei (18, Mizoram), midfielders Zonunmawia (Mizoram) and Bibin Boban (Kerala) and forward Bawlte Rohmingthanga (Mizoram) have all signed long term deals with the club.
Chennaiyin FC co-owner Mrs Vita Dani said, “We would like to congratulate Mr Praful Patel, Mr Kushal Das and their whole team for the fantastic work they have been doing at the AIFF Elite Academy. Last year we signed five graduates from the AIFF Academy and all five have shown great improvement over the last 12 months with Jerry (Lalrinzuala) and Anirudh (Thapa) also going on to play for the India senior team. We thank AIFF and hope to continue the development of the boys in the coming years.”
AIFF General Secertary Kushal Das said, “AIFF’s structured youth development and the Academy programme has been the supply line not only to the Senior National Team but also to various Indian Clubs. The trend continues as Chennaiyin FC have now signed six of our Academy cadets. Chennaiyin FC technical director of youth development Sabir Pasha added, “They are all teenagers but at Chennaiyin FC age has never been a hindrance. The door is open to each one of them to stake a claim for the senior team. Our head coach John Gregory will be following their progress closely.”
Mitra, Sanglura, Boban and Rohmingthanga have all represented India age group teams in various international matches while Renthlei and Zonunmawia are part of the current India U-19 team that is preparing for the upcoming SAFF Championship and Asian Cup qualifiers.

Bengaluru FC have added more firepower to their frontline with the signing of Venezuelan International striker Nicolas ‘Miku’ Ladislao Fedor Flores ahead of their debut Indian Super League season, the club announced on Tuesday. The 32-year-old who signed a two-year deal, arrives to Bengaluru from Spanish side Rayo Vallecano with whom he spent the last two-and-a-half seasons.....
The 6’ 1” attacker will team up with Spaniard Braulio Nobrega at the front and becomes the Blues’ seventh foreign signing for the season and the first ever South American player at the club.
Born in Caracas, Venezuela to a Hungarian father and a Venezuelan mother, Miku began his football career in Spanish powerhouse Valencia’s youth system. Turning professional in 2004 with the Mestella-side, the striker turned out for CD Alcoyano (2004-05, 2nd B), UD Salamanca (2005–06, 2nd B), Ciudad de Murcia (2006, 2nd), Valencia ‘B’ (2007, 2nd B), Gimnastic de Tarragona (2007–08, 2nd), UD Salamanca (2008–09, 2nd) in the Spanish league system. His highlight during this period was striking 18 goals in the promotion winning campaign at Salamanca during the 2005-06 Segunda ‘B’ season.
The striker returned back to parent club Valencia for the 2009-10 La Liga season, before moving in the heart of Spain to Getafe. His four-year spell with the Madrid-based club saw him amass 26 La Liga goals in 90-plus appearances. Miku also had short loan spell with Glasgow-based Celtic FC in 2012-13 where he won the Scottish League and Cup double.
The following season, the Venezuelan moved out of Europe for his first spell in Asia where he represented Al-Gharafa SC (2013-15) in the Qatar Stars League. In January 2015, Miku returned to Spain to join Rayo Vallecano, another Madrid-based club. The striker settled in quickly and began firing all guns blazing in the 2015-16 season. In February 2016, he became the first Venezuelan to score in four consecutive Spanish top flight matchdays, winning La Liga’s Player of the Month award. That season Miku netted nine times and assisted four goals in 22 appearances for Rayo in the La Liga finishing their joint second-highest top-scorer in the league.
At the continental level, Miku has represented Celtic in the UEFA Champions League while playing in the UEFA Europa League for Getafe and Valencia, also scoring a hattrick in the competition for the latter.
A full international since 2006, Miku has 51 caps for Venezuela and has scored 11 times, most notably against Brazil in the during the 2015 Copa America in Chile. The striker also helped his team to a fourth-place finish in the 2011 Copa America held in Argentina. Interestingly, the striker has already played in India as a part of the Venezuela team which faced Argentina in an International Friendly in Kolkata back in September 2011.
For the record, Miku is the fifth-highest (joint) goalscorer for the Venezuelan national team and is 23rd (joint) in the list of most caps for his country.
Jamshedpur FC signs former Premier League defender Andre Bikey
PART- 59 (ISL) : 29.08.2017 : JFC Press RELEASE : Jamshedpur FC is delighted to announce the signing of Cameroonian international footballer Andre Bikey for the 2017-18 ISL season. Bikey becomes the fifth foreign signing for Jamshedpur after Moura, Tiri, Doutie and Belfort.
Andre Bikey was buzzing with excitement and said, “I am happy to have signed for Jamshedpur. It’s an incredible emotion to be part of the sports legacy of Jamshedpur and its rich football traditions. I am looking forward to work with Steve Coppell again. Steve has been a great influence on me over the years. I am excited about how the team is shaping up and I am hungry to fight for the championship.”
Steve Coppell, Head Coach, Jamshedpur FC was elated at the announcement and said “Andre has proven his quality and will be an asset to the team. His versatility is of high utility and I am look forward to work with him once again come October.”
Primarily a strong defender, Bikey can also play in the midfield and exhibits great athleticism as well as sound technical ability. Having started his youth career at the age of fifteen with Espanyol, Bikey found first team football in Portugal with Marco in the 2002–03 season.
He joined the Premier League side Reading on a season-long loan in August 2006, before joining the club permanently for a £1 million fee in April 2007 under our gaffer Steve Coppell. He then went on to play for Burnley, Middlesbrough, Charlton Athletic in his decorated career. He also has experience of playing in ISL with North East United in 2015 and with FC Pune City in 2016.
Lajong Sign Six Foreign Players For I-League 2017/18

The first foreign signing is Centre forward, Abdoulaye Koffi from Ivory Coast. He has made impressive stints at Grand Hotel FC in 2008-11 season (Egypt II Division), El Sharqia Dokhan in 2012-14 season (Egypt II Division), Saham SC in 2014-15 season (Oman Professional League), Al-Suwaiq in 2015-16 season (Oman Professional League) and Al-Khaleej in 2016-17 season (Saudi Professional League).
The 25 year old was the top scorer of the Egyptian Second Division for Grand Hotel FC scoring 26 goals from 44 appearances during the 2010-11 season. Koffi was the second top goal scorer in the Oman Professional League for Al-Suwaiq in the 2015-16 season striking 23 goals from 32 game appearances.
Laurence Doe from Liberia is Lajong’s second foreign recruit. The 30 year old Centre Back is a former Equatorial Guinea International having played 21 games in total and scored 2 goals. He has played for clubs like Platinas in 2012-13 season (Greece Super League), Apollon Smyrnis in 2013 (Football League Greece), Enppi in 2014-15 season (Egyptian Premier League), Deportivo Mengomo in 2015 (Equatorial Guinea) and Quintar del Rey in 2016-17 (Tercera Division). The right footed defender has won major titles in Mali, Equatorial Guinea & Oman.
The third foreign player to join the Shillong Lajong ranks is Daniel Odafin from Nigeria. The 28 year old defensive midfielder was involved with Clubs like Al-Hala in 2007-08 season (Bahraini Premier League), Tishreen in 2008-09 season (Syrian Premier League), Al-Jazeera in 2009-10 season (Syrian Premier League), Hutteen in 2010-11 season (Syrian Premier League), Shabab Al-Sahel in 2011-14 season (Lebanese Premier League), Al Zawraa in 2014 (Iraqi Premier League), Al Nahda in 2015 (Oman Professional League & played AFC Cup), Shabab Al Sahel in 2015-16 season (Lebanese Premier League) and Al-Nabi Sheat in 2016-17 season (Lebanese Premier League).
Daniel Odafin has also won the best midfielder award in the 2013-14 season for Shabab Al-Sahel (Lebanese Premier League) and also were runners up in the FA Cup and Super Cup during the same season.
The Reds have also secured the signature of Saihou CH Jagne, who is a dual citizen of Sweden and Gambia. The 30 year old striker last played for Fateh Hyderabad and scored 4 goals in the last 5 games that Fateh played in I-League second division. He has gone to have stints in Väsby United in 2007, AIK in 2008-10 season and also won the Swedish League in 2009 with AIK including the Swedish Cup & Swedish Super Cup. Between 2010 to 2015, he has been associated with various clubs in Sweden, Finland and Norway. His last club before moving to India was HamKam FC in Norway during the 2016-17 Season.
Saihou Jagne has represented the Sweden U-17 team and Gambia Senior Team (World Cup Qualifiers, last game 2016).
The fifth foreign signing is attacking midfielder from Yemen, Aiman Salah Al-Hagri. Aiman is a versatile and skilful player who can play up top or attack from the wings. The 24 year old moved away from Yemen in 2011 to Bahrain, and then plied his trade in Oman and Saudi Arabia between 2013 to 2016. He is also a very important member of the Yemen National Football Team having made 19 appearances for his country so far.
The sixth foreign contingent added to Lajong’s youthful squad is Central Defender, Oh Juho from the Republic of Korea. The 25 year old has played in Korean leagues since 2008 and has also played for National Police Commissary FC, a top level of Cambodian League in 2016. At 6 feet 2 inches tall, Oh Juho has also represented the U-18 and U-23 National Teams.
Chennaiyin FC sign Spaniard Jaime Gavilan
PART- 57 : 22.08.2017 : CFC Press RELEASE : Chennaiyin FC has completed the signing of Spanish attacking midfielder Jaime Gavilan Martinez for the 2017-18 season of the Hero Indian Super League. The 32-year-old joins the 2015 ISL champions on a free transfer after the expiry of his contract at South Korean club Suwon FC.
A product of the Valencia youth academy, Gavilan represented Spain at various age group levels. He was part of Spain’s U-16 and U-19 Euro success in 2001 and 2004 and was also a member of the 2003 U-20 World Cup squad that lost to Brazil in the final.
Gavilan spent four seasons in the senior team of his boyhood club Valencia but most of his time there was spent on loan to Getafe and Tenerife. However he appeared for Valencia in both the UEFA Champions League and Europa League.
In 2008, Gavilan sealed a permanent move to Getafe and spent six seasons there. In 2014 he moved to Levante but soon joined Greek outfit Platanias.
Gavilan played in the second season of the Hero ISL for Atletico de Kolkata. He made 15 starts for the Kolkata franchise, bagging three assists and helped them reach the semifinals, where they lost to eventual champions Chennaiyin FC 4-2 on aggregate. After leaving ISL, Gavilan has been playing for South Korea’s Suwon FC.
MINERVA PUNJAB FC GETS NEW HEAD COACH
PART- 56 : 20.08.2017 MPFC Press RELEASE : Minerva Punjab FC the only team to be participating in the Hero I-Leaue from Chandigarh, Punjab and the entire North region welcomed Spaniard Juan Luis Perez Herrera as their new Head Coach for the senior team.
Juan Luis Perez Herrera arrived at the club premises in Mohali on Friday and took up his first training with the senior squad on Saturday. The new man incharge has UEFA Pro License with more than 12 years of experience in managing and leading teams in Spain. This will be Juan's first stint in India, his last assignment was as Head Coach of Lions Gibraltar FC which plays in Gibraltar Premier League before which he was the Head Coach of Manchester 62 and College Europa in the Gibraltar Premier League. Before moving to the Gibraltar Premier League Juan coached a Spanish third division side Alhaurín de la Torre Club de Fútbol.
Juan's philosophy and style of play seems to be well aligned with Minerva Punjab FC's ethos of playing young players from their own academy. Juan took up his first training session with the boys and was elated to see the enthusiasm and desire of the players to learn. "Minerva Punjab FC is a good side and no less than any other side in the league, with the proper training and time put in, we can have the confidence to be Champions", he told the boys. He had been studying videos of last season's matches and coordinating with Assistant Coach Sachin Babadhe about the progress of the team prior to his arrival.
Club owner and CEO, Ranjit Bajaj said, "I am pleased to welcome Juan to the Minerva Punjab FC family and I am sure his experience will help us get good results this season, the most important thing for me was that he is totally onboard with the club's youth development philosophy."
FC Goa has confirmed the signing of defender Sergio Juste Marin
PART- 55 (ISL) 14.08.2017 FCG Press RELEASE : FC Goa has confirmed the signing of defender Sergio Juste Marin. The ex-Barcelona B captain becomes the fifth foreigner to join the Goan club following the arrivals of Bruno Pinheiro, Ferran Corominas, Manuel Arana and Ahmed Jahouh.
The versatile defender who can play in multiple positions across the backline is a product of La Masia and has had spells with Gimanstic Tarragona and CE L’Hospitalet. The 25-year-old has also worn the armband for the Barcelona B side during a spell of four years at the club.
Chennaiyin FC reveals new coaching staff
PART- 54 (ISL) 11.08.2017 CFC Press RELEASE : Chennaiyin FC is delighted to announce the appointment of Englishmen Mark Lillis and Niall Clark as assistant coach and sports scientist respectively as the club continues its preparations for the upcoming Hero Indian Super League 2017-18 season by bringing in new personnel to the first team coaching staff.
In addition to newly appointed head coach John Gregory, Chennaiyin FC already had local favourite and former India international Syed Sabir Pasha as assistant coach and now Lillis and Clark join the newly revamped coaching staff with more staff appointments expected before the start of the season.
“Both Mark and Niall are highly qualified and experienced in their respective fields of expertise. We are delighted to have them on board and believe that along with Sabir we have the best team to support John in our quest of winning back the ISL trophy,” said Chennaiyin FC co-owner Mrs Vita Dani.
Chennaiyin head coach John Gregory added, “Mark used to be an exceptional player and has incredible experience as a coach. He has a great CV of coaching and developing talent and thus will add great value to our technical think tank. Niall is an expert in sports science with the experience of having worked in top clubs of England and more crucially in the ISL as well. Sabir and I couldn’t have wished for a better duo to work it.”
57 year old Lillis had almost 17 years of experience as a player with spells at Huddersfield Town, Manchester City, Derby County and Aston Villa. His coaching career started at Macclesfield Town before a spell at Halifax Town. Lillis worked with Gregory at Derby County but he has done most of his coaching at Huddersfield Town, where he has served as coach, caretaker manager and academy manager. He also had a spell as assistant manager of Northern Ireland.
Clark has previously had spells with Manchester City, Crystal Palace, West Ham, Charlton Atheltic in England besides working with Gregory at English third tier outfit Crawley Town. In 2015, he worked with FC Pune City in the ISL and last season he played a key role in Kerala Blasters’ road to the final.
The Blues Strengthen Squad Further; Complete Sixth Foreign Signing
PART- 53 (ISL) 07.08.2017 : BFC PRESS RELEASE : Bengaluru FC announced the signing of experienced Spanish forward Braulio Nóbrega Rodríguez on a one-year deal, the club announced on Monday. The 31-year-old La Liga veteran becomes the fourth Spaniard at the club joining fellow countrymen Juanan Gonzalez, Dimas Delgado and Antonio Dovale.
The former Spain Under-20 international joins the Blues after netting an impressive ten goals in 15 league games along with two in the cup for Doxa Katokopias FC in the 2016-17 Cypriot First Division league while helping his side survive relegation.
Born in Puerto del Rosario on the Canary Islands in the Atlantic, Braulio, who came through the ranks at Atlético Madrid, turned professional in 2004 joining the reserve side of the Rojiblancos. He scored 17 goals in 26 games for the ‘B’ side while also playing frequently with the main team in the La Liga. During the second half of 2005-06 season, he joined fellow La Liga side Mallorca on loan before having another loan spell with UD Salamanca where he scored 14 times in the Segunda Division.
Braulio was then signed by La Liga side Getafe CF for the 2007-08 season where he not only featured regularly during the league campaign but even starred at the continental level scoring thrice in the UEFA Cup – the highlight being a fantastic back-heel goal against Tottenham Hotspur, along with a game-levelling strike past Oliver Kahn of Bayern Munich in the competition’s quarterfinal.
Thereafter, the striker had spells with a number of Spanish teams in Real Zaragoza (2008-11, La Liga & Segunda Division), Recreativo del Huelva (2010, 2014-15), FC Cartagena (2012, Segunda Division), Hércules CF (2012–13, Segunda Division), Caudal Deportivo (2016, Segunda 'B'), apart from stints with Malaysian Super League's Johor Darul Ta'zim (2013–14) and Greek Super League side AEL Kalloni F.C. (2015-16) before joining Doxa.
Mohun Bagan signed 3 more players
PART- 52: 05.08.2017 (Mohun Bagan Press elease ) :Mohun Bagan have mutually parted ways with Mr. Denson Devadas for the season 2017-18. Both party agreed for a mutual termination. The reason is that the current formation in which Coach Sankarlal Chakraborty is planning to play in the upcoming CFL 2017 does not suits the style with which Denson plays.
Mohun Bagan club have secured the signature of following two players;

PART- 51 (ISL): 05.08.2017 : Mumbai City FC signed Ex-Levante center forward Rafa Jorda. 33 year old Spanish footballer Rafa played in La Liga 3 seasons with Numancia in 2004-05 season and with Levante in 2010-12 season. He also played in Chinese Super League side Guizhou Renge FC.
FC Pune City signed Real Madrid's product, 31 year midfielder Marcos Tebar. Marcos played for Delhi Dynamos in last year Indian Super League.
ATK announced the signing of Irish football legend Robert David “Robbie” Keane
PART- 50 (ISL): 04.08.2017 ( ATK Press release) : Two time champions ATK announced the signing of Irish football legend Robert David “Robbie” Keane for the upcoming season of Indian Super League. Keane, who has been a prolific scorer playing for Republic of Ireland with 146 International appearances scoring 68 goals will be strengthening the new look ATK side. Keane has been Ireland’s top scorer at the 2002 FIFA World Cup and also represented his country at UEFA Euro 2012 followed by Euro 2016.
Robbie has been one of the legends of English Premier League football, leaving his legacy with clubs like Tottenham Hotspur, Liverpool and Major League Soccer team Los Angeles Galaxy. A talented, quick, and agile player, Keane is a versatile forward, capable of playing anywhere along the front line always searching to net those memorable goals.

Mumbai CIty FC signed Ex-PSG winger, Brazilian attacking midfielder Everton Santos. Starting his career in Santro Andre club of Brazil, he played for Corinthians in 2007. 30-year old Everton also played in South Korean K League for long time in different clubs like Seongnam Ilhwa Chunma, FC Seoul, Ulsan Hyundai.
FC GOA confirms the signing of Moroccan International Ahmed Jahouh
PART- 48 (ISL): 02.08.2017 : FC Goa has confirmed the signing of Moroccan International Ahmed Jahouh on a one-year loan deal from FUS Rabat of Morocco. The powerful midfielder will now link up with the squad for the pre-season which is slated to start in October.
A box to box midfielder, Jahouh’s towering frame and build will add bite to FC Goa’s midfield. A strong tackler in the profile of a deep-lying playmaker, Jahouh also has the ability to score vital goals as well with his late runs into the box. A strong aerial presence, Jahouh will also be pivotal in set-piece situations on both ends of the pitch.
The 29-year-old who has been capped multiple times for his country has also won the national championship with Moghreb Tetouan in the 11/12 season. Jahouh is expected to settle in quickly having previously worked with FC Goa’s Head Coach Sergio Lobera at Moghreb, under whose guidance he flourished.
Bidyananda, Robinson sign with Bengaluru FC
PART- 46 (ISL): 31.7.2017 : Federation Cup champions Bengaluru Football Club, on Friday, announced the signings of midfielders Bidyananda Singh and Robinson Singh on two year contracts. While Bidyananda joins from ISL side Atletico De Kolkata, Robinson Singh joins the Blues from Mohun Bagan.
A defensive midfielder who progressed through the AIFF Academy ranks, Bidyananda joins the Blues after having represented India at the U13, U14, U15, U16 and U17 sides. The 19-year-old faced the Blues while playing for the AIFF U19s in a friendly in Bengaluru in 2015, a match in which he found the net.
Robinson, meanwhile, joins the Blues having represented Mohun Bagan for the last two seasons. The 20-year-old has also represented India at the U16, U17 and U19 levels. He was also part of the India team that took part in the AFC U23 Championship qualifiers in Doha, earlier in July.
