Mohun Bagan player Balwant Singh won The Late Karuna Shankar Bhattacharya award for Best Footballer for the year 2016-17 The Best Youth Football Player award won by Deep Saha. He was called up for India U-17 team trails and is being inducted in the AIFF Academy for his performance.

The Executive Committee Members of Mohun Bagan Athletic Club have decided to confer the Prestigious Mohun Bagan Ratna 2017 along with a Cheque of Rs. 1 Lakh to Shri Subrata Bhattacharya. He was conferred with Prestigious Arjuna Award in the year 1989 by the Government of India for his contribution to the game of football. He also has won many laurels donning the green & maroon jersey. During his tenure as a coach twice we won the National Football League.
The Late Karuna Shankar Bhattacharya award for Best Footballer for the year 2016-17 will be awarded to Mr. Balwant Singh for his outstanding performance for the season 2016-17.
The Best Youth Football Player will be given to Master Deep Saha. He was called up for India U-17 team trails and is being inducted in the AIFF Academy for his performance.
The Executive Committee Members have further decided to hand a Cheque of Rs. 1, 00,000/- (One Lakh Only) as donation to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund for the relief work of flood affected people.
