COACHES COMMENT BEFORE THE MATCH
JUAN FERRANDO : “Goa is also a balanced and good team as Mumbai. This Goa is much different from last year's Goa. They have a new Coach. They have good footballers like Noah , Boris , Udanta, Sandesh and Carl McHugh. So we have to give importance to them. We have AFC Cup group matches coming up. So before that playing against Goa will be a good practice match. We haven't had a good pre-season so far due to many reasons. So for the team's best form we have to play more matches. Yes, we beat Mumbai but still a lot of improvement is required in the team. We want to go to the final but without any player's injury. So for that maybe some changes might happen in the formation.”
MANOLO MARQUEZ : “Well, it’s always very good for any team to play in the semi-finals of a prestigious tournament like the Durand Cup. It’s very good for us also, especially as we’ve been facing some top teams. For us, we’ve just started the last part of our pre-season preparations prior to the start of the ISL, and we’re happy to play in competitive situations like this right now."
"We know that we’re facing a very strong team, who have a lot of money to spend as well. Thus, they can sign very good players. The atmosphere at the Salt Lake Stadium will be favourable to them, and to face them in such a situation will be a great learning experience,”
The winners of the second semifinal will face Emami East Bengal on 3rd September, Sunday in the final of the 132nd Durand Cup.

COACHES REACTION BEFORE THE MATCH
JUAN FERRANDO “Mumbai City FC are preparing for the AFC Champions League and we are preparing for the AFC Cup. So for both of the teams this match is going to be a good practice match. Mumbai is a difficult opponent. They have some good wingers along with Chhangte , Bipin , Mehtab and Akash.
They also have good foreigners like Greg Stuart. But even our team has also played two consecutive matches and is ready and tomorrow it's going to be a good game. We will try our best to win. But before playing I would like to mention that Mumbai has got a break of ten days and we have got only three days before this match.
DES BUCKINGHAM “For us, it wasn't about starting anew this year. It was about recognizing a lot of the good work that certainly has been built and was on show last season and taking a large part of that with us to this year. Now it's about the continuation of that which will allow us to evolve and get better.
In the three games we've had in the Durand Cup, we've tried quite a few different things. We had a chance to look at different players and different ways of doing certain things. It's been a good start, but that's all it's been. So I'm very happy with where we are at the moment and I'm very much looking forward to what's to come.”

COACHES VIEW BEFORE THE MATCH
DES BUCKINGHAM (Mumbai City Fc)
“We played Mohammedan last year (in the Durand Cup), they gave us a very good game and it took us to the 89th minute where we scored the winner that put us through the to the Final. So we know that they're a good team.”
They've changed the coach and they changed some of the players. We know that they've been playing local league (in Kolkata) and have been playing well. So we're expecting a very, very tough opponent. They're a very good I-League team and I'm sure one that will be challenging to try and come up into the ISL next year.”
MEHRAJUDDIN WADOO (Mohammedan Sporting Club)
“I think the boys are ready and there is a very good atmosphere in the team, and in the dressing room. Everyone is working very hard and we all know the importance of this game in the Cup, which is very important for us. Also, we are looking forward to have a good game.”
I think without hard work there's no success. So we are looking forward to put our best foot forward tomorrow and make sure that we do our very best on the pitch. The squad is doing well. We have foreigners, they have just arrived and are gelling well as a team. So, I think it's been almost two months since we have started the season and that the boys, they have already recognized everything, the atmosphere in Calcutta and everyone looks very positive. So that is the key.”
