22.08.25: The defending champions of Durand Cup, North East United FC will play against Diamond Harbour FC in the final of the 134th Durand Cup at Kolkata on Saturday evening.
North East United FC were the champions of Group E had an impressive performance in the tournament are yet to face a defeat. They won against Shillong Lajong FC in the semifinal by a solitary goal and qualified to play in the final.
Diamond Harbour FC is a new team in Indian football, qualified to play I League, the second tier league of Indian football in the upcoming season after being the champion in I League 2. In the current edition of Durand Cup, they won against three ISL playing clubs Md Sporting club in Group stages, Jamshedpur FC in the quarter final and East Bengal FC in the semifinal in their way to the final.
