While, Abahani of Dhaka won their Preliminary match against Club Eagles of Maldives by a margin of 2-1 at Dhaka.

Abahani Dhaka have a good team with good players in their squad, so it will not be easy for us tomorrow. Both teams want the same target, the same goal, and the key for us will be to maintain focus for 90 minutes and beyond. They are certainly very good at set-pieces, but one area where they can really hurt us is on transition. They’ve got fast wingers and forwards, and can control good spaces during transitions,”

“I don’t like to use this term out of context, but my boys are ready to die for the team tomorrow,” said Lemos. “Mohun Bagan are a good side, but we will be balancing between parking the bus and building our own attacks. The team need to put in maximum effort, maintain balance and discipline. We need to push their players to positions where they are not as comfortable on the pitch. If we are able to stop them for the first 20 minutes, and then start creating chances of our own, we stand a good chance,”

PREVIEW: After a defeat against the arch rival East Bengal in Durand Cup Derby, Mohun Bagan Super Giant will face against Machhindra FC in the Preliminary stages of AFC Cup on Wednesday evening at Kolkata.
Machhindra FC won the first qualifying match against Paro FC by a margin of 3-2 at Kathmandu and are quite confident to face the reigning ISL champions Mohun Bagan SG in an important Round 2 Qualifying match at Kolkata.
While interacting with the media in the pre match press conference the Head coach of Mohun Bagan Super Giant Juan Ferrando said, " “We try to learn and improve every game, especially from our losses. But I believe that the past is not as important if you do not repeat your mistakes. Personally, I think we made more mistakes against Punjab FC than we did against East Bengal. But we have been working on those mistakes, and we’re looking forward to putting in a good performance against Machhindra FC.”
The Head coach of Machhindra FC Kishore Kumar in his massage said, “Mohun Bagan lost their last match against East Bengal, and we will try to use that to our advantage. They have a good attack, and we must make sure that we keep a tight defensive shape and build our attacks from there.”
