COACHES VIEW

SIMON GRAYSON
"ATK Mohun Bagan have had a fantastic run of results to get to the final. They’ve got some individuals who can really hurt the opposition. We really respect them and I hope we stay on top of our game. I feel that tomorrow’s game will be a great advertisement for the League. I feel tomorrow’s game will be determined by which team wants it the most. At some points, you might need a bit of luck, but I don’t want these players to have any regrets after the game. The team has trained on different matchday situations during training and if we continue to work hard and eradicate those small mistakes, then that will help us a great deal.”

JUAN FERRANDO
"In the last few games, they [Bengaluru FC] have been very good and have played confidently. On the field, they look like a proper team. It will be very important to control this game from the start. The focus, as always, is on our team, and we have faith in our plan. I hope the club wins the trophy because they helped me and trusted in my things. I am happy because we are here for the players. They have worked through a lot of difficult moments and have thought about the team all the time. My job is to help the club to improve. But it is much better for everyone if ATKMB win the trophy.”

INDIAN SUPER LEAGUE - 2022-23 LIVE SCORE

Mumbai City FC displayed an attacking football in the first session of the match, created a number of chances to score. But, credit must be given to Sandesh Jhingan and Prabir Das who lead Bengaluru FC central defense and denied Greg Stewart, Joerge Diaz and Bipin Singh on a number of occasion to score.

Prabir Das, who displayed an impressive performance in central defense as well as in the attacking force was rightly adjudged as the Man of the Match.

Bengaluru FC had a tactical change in the second session as they started to hold the ball in the midfield leading by Zavi Hernandez and Suresh Wanjam and started to create pressure in the Mumbai City FC's central defense. It was really a competitive second session as both the teams had a number of positive chances to score.

BENGALURU FC DECLARED AS WINNERS BY THE MATCH OFFICIALS. REFEREE CRYSTAL JOHN BLEW THE FINAL WHISTLE AFTER DISCUSSING WITH MATCH COMMISSIONER AMIT DHARAP.

KERALA BLASTERS ARE PROTESTING AGAINST THE DECISION OF GOAL. THEY LEFT THE FIELD PROTESTING AGAINST THE DECISION. THE FOOTBALLERS OF BENGALURU FC AND THE MATCH OFFICIALS ARE INSIDE THE PLAYING ARENA.

It was a controversial decision by the Referee. It seems that Sunil took the free kick without allowing the Kerala Blasters FC footballers to settle down before the free kick.

SECOND HALF: At the end of an entertaining 90 minutes, there is nothing separating the two sides and we are going to have extra time. Unlike the first half, both teams began the second half on a cautious note. Once both teams found their feet, chances were created but neither side was able to find the back of the net. Towards the end, both teams opted to play safe and resorted to the long balls but to no avail.

INDIAN SUPER LEAGUE - 2022-23 LIVE SCORE

FIRST HALF: It is deadlocked between BFC and KBFC at the halftime interval. KBFC's defense is on top, and they are not letting BFC players make a breakthrough. KBFC haven't troubled Gurpreet Sandhu much, and they will need to gear up and move forward now in the game.

Roy Krishna and Javier Hernandez are looking in good touch, and they are the major concerning players the KBFC defense will have to keep an eye on. Both sides will look to change their game plans a bit and find breakthroughs in the game. Let's see how the next phase pans out.

Bengaluru FC record their eighth win on the trot and put a dagger through the hearts of FC Goa. The hosts have knocked out FCG from the playoffs. Odisha FC meanwhile would be thanking their lucky stars, as they make it through to the playoffs. Sree Kanteerava Stadium continues to be a curse for FC Goa and they are yet to win a single match in this stadium in the history of the competition.

INDIAN SUPER LEAGUE - 2022-23 LIVE SCORE

BFC seal a top four finish, which will prove to be very important during the playoffs. Siva Narayanan handed the hosts an early lead, although FC Goa fought back hard and got an equalizer through Iker Guarrotxena. It was all level at half-time. FCG looked positive after resumption but BFC grew into the game and caused a lot of trouble. Siva Narayanan doubled their lead and later, Pablo Perez got himself on the scoresheet coming off the bench to put the game to bed.

A very exciting half comes to an end with the scores level in this crucial game for both teams. Bengaluru FC started on the front foot and created a few openings for themselves. However, the first goal came from a set-piece when Siva Narayanan found himself free inside the box from a corner and headed in to give the lead to the home side.

FC Goa picked their game up after going behind and started asking questions to the BFC defense, where Gurpreet Sandhu had to make a couple of good saves. Iker Guarrotxena looked like a man on a mission for FC Goa, and he equalised with a brilliant header. Both teams had a few more chances in the half, but their finishing was not up to par. There were a couple of rash tackles, and things heated up in the middle as the stakes are high in this game.

These two sides will come out and try to go all out for the win, but FC Goa needs it the most to make it to the playoffs. We can expect another fine half of football. Will we get a winner here?

Bengaluru FC marked the 100th Hero Indian Super League (ISL) game of the season by achieving the seemingly impossible, beating Mumbai City FC 2-1 at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium on Wednesday to put an end their 18-game unbeaten streak. In ending that prolific streak, the best ever in ISL history, the Blues also made a big move towards sealing a playoff spot with their seventh win in a row with Sunil Chhetri leading from the front.

Chhetri made his first start of the new year for Bengaluru FC as Roy Krishna served his suspension. The 38-year-old asked questions of the Islanders’ backline. A little over five minutes after attempting to dink one over the keeper, Chhetri tried his luck from the edge of the box after Vignesh D’s clearance deflected into his path. Moments later, Chhetri had another crack at goal after getting the better of Ahmed Jahouh. Lachenpa was quick to go down and put his body behind the low shot.

INDIAN SUPER LEAGUE - 2022-23 LIVE SCORE

But in a first half where neither team looked to be too adventurous, it was Mumbai City FC who were presented with the best opportunity to take the lead. Bengaluru FC’s defenders were caught in a tangle in the middle of the pitch when a long ball set Bipin Singh on a free run at goal down the left side. However, Gurpreet Singh Sandhu made himself big at the near post and blocked the winger’s effort which was straight at him.

Chhetri’s persistence paid off minutes before the hour mark as the League Shield Winners looked a shadow of themselves in the second half. Hernandez whipped a corner towards the far post, where the Islanders had left Chhetri unmarked - the veteran charged in to head his team into the lead.

A glimpse of just how much the Blues had rattled the Islanders was visible when centre-back Aleksandar Jovanovic, in to replace the suspended Parag Shrivas, burst past a flat-footed defence into the box to create the second goal. He squared the ball into the path of Hernandez, who drove it in first time to put his team 2-0 up in the 70th minute.

This did seem to shake the league leaders up, as they clawed back in the 77th minute when a Rowllin Borges corner was headed back across goal for Mourtada Fall to tap in. But this drive came too little too late from the Islanders, whose domineering run came to a halt at the hands of the league’s most in-form team.

Bengaluru FC extended their winning streak to six games in the Hero Indian Super League (ISL) after a 1-0 victory over arch-rivals Kerala Blasters at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium on Saturday. Roy Krishna netted his fifth goal of the season as the Blues jumped from seventh to fifth on the table, and a point clear of FC Goa and Odisha FC.

INDIAN SUPER LEAGUE - 2022-23 LIVE SCORE

An electric atmosphere engulfed the venue with several away fans in attendance fueling a high-octane encounter between two strong sides. Opportunities came at both ends in the initial stages of the first half. Dimitrios Diamantakos failed to hit the target from a promising Sahal Samad cross at one end, while Sandesh Jhinghan rattled the crossbar from a Javi Hernandez free-kick at the other.

The Blasters kept more of the ball, but the Blues fired more shots at goal and eventually drew first blood just after the half-hour mark. Hernandez was the provider as he slid a clever ball through to Krishna down the right flank. Under pressure from Ruivah Hormipam, the Fijian outmuscled the defender and made his way into the box before slotting it past Prabhsukhan Gill at the near-post from a tight angle.

Five minutes from the break, Hernandez had an opportunity to get his name on the scoresheet when he dodged the offside trap and brought a long ball down deftly right in front of goal. However, Gill pounced on the ball before the Spaniard could adjust his footing and get a shot away.

Kerala Blasters started the second half on the front foot. Adrian Luna’s cross from the right flank was just behind Diamantakos and was cleared to safety. Cheeky flicks were on display from Luna as the Blasters pushed forward repeatedly, getting thwarted by the staunch Bengaluru FC defence on almost every occasion. Samad attempted to find the far post on a couple of occasions, but both his efforts went wide.

Around the hour-mark, Bengaluru FC applied pressure on the Blasters. Roshan Naorem cut in from the left flank and tried to catch Gill on the wrong foot with a shot at the near post. However, the Blasters’ shot-stopper was quick to palm it out for a corner. The Blasters huffed and puffed in the final few minutes of the game but could not do anything to correct their record at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium in the Hero ISL.

Javier Hernandez made the breakthrough in the 78th minute with an excellent left-footed volley and Roy Krishna followed the suit with an easy tap-in in the 90th minute. It looked like they had sealed it easily, but Dimitri Petratos scored right after a minute with a long-range screamer, and ATKMB had hope.

However, they did not have much time after the goal, and BFC managed to defend the remaining minutes. It was a tough game, but BFC will be relieved to come out of it and make it five wins in a trot. FIRST HALF: The first half of the match ended as the score locked at goalless inspite of a number of chances created by both the teams. The match proved to be cometetive in the first session as ATK Mohun Bagan and Bengaluru FC had some good chances to score. Thanks to Vishal Kaith and Gurprit Singh Sandhu the goalkeepers, who rise to the occasion and prevent any damage being done.

The easiest oppornunity was wasted by Shiva Shakti when he failed to score with only Vishal Kaith to beat. Asish Rai of ATK Mohun Bagan had couple of chances midway in the first session but he was denied twice by Gurprit Singh Sandhu.

INDIAN SUPER LEAGUE - 2022-23 LIVE SCORE

Bengaluru FC struck a massive blow to fellow playoff aspirants Chennaiyin FC, sealing three points with a 3-1 win at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium on Saturday. The win, their fourth in a row, put them into the top six for the first time since Matchweek 2 of the season, and created a five-point cushion between themselves and Chennaiyin FC.

A first half full of errors allowed the home team to stamp their authority on the game. Sivasakthi Narayanan led the charge for Bengaluru FC, pouncing on a well weighted chip from Roy Krishna who was back defending a corner in the 15th minute. Sivasakthi began his run from his own half but used his pace and touch to set up a one-on-one with goalkeeper Samik Mitra, before slotting it into his near post.

Seven minutes later, Sivasakthi was lurking as Jiteshwor Singh fumbled a sideways pass in the centre of Chennaiyin FC's defense. The forward was on hand to steal the ball, keep his composure, and chip it over the on-rushing keeper.

Just past the half-hour mark, it was Rohit Kumar's turn to do the same, as he intercepted Mitra's feeble pass towards Julius Duker who was facing his own goal. After a brief tussle, Rohit emerged with the ball and passed it into the net from between Mitra's legs as he rushed out. Not long after, Mitra's fluffed clearance straight into Sivasakthi gave him the opportunity to complete a hat-trick, but the central defenders had tracked back to block him.

INDIAN SUPER LEAGUE - 2022-23 LIVE SCORE

Chennaiyin FC came out for the second half with three personnel changes, a change in formation, and a lot more intent. One of the substitutes, Edwin Vanspaul, found himself free on the right side of the box after Jiteshwor won a midfield duel and played him in - he wrapped his left foot around the ball to curl it past Gurpreet Singh Sandhu to make it 3-1 in the 59th minute.

From there, the visitors applied plenty of pressure with two strikers up front, and Peter Sliskovic was on the end of one of the best chances created during that period, but kicked wide on the turn. A minute later, another loose ball fell for Vanspaul left-footed curler narrowly missed the post.

Entering the final 15 minutes of the game, it was still Chennaiyin FC on top in the second half, and a quick move down the left allowed Ninthoi a free shot at the goal inside the box, but Sandhu's reflex save kept Bengaluru FC's lead intact.

Bengaluru FC's only big chance of the half came in the 84th minute, when substitute Bruno Ramires' first touch was a thundering volley that Mitra pushed away. A few more nervy moments came in stoppage time, but the Blues managed to hold on for a crucial result.

They moved into sixth place with 22 points, with a trip to ATK Mohun Bagan next on February 5. For Chennaiyin FC, it was a sixth consecutive game without a win after their 7-3 result against NorthEast United FC in December. They host Odisha FC on February 2 in what could become a must-win game.

Bengaluru FC registered a third consecutive win in the Hero Indian Super League (ISL) and inched closer to the final playoff spot after beating Jamshedpur FC 3-0 at the JRD Tata Sports Complex in Jamshedpur on Wednesday. The win puts them in seventh place, three points ahead of Chennaiyin FC and just one behind FC Goa.

Rohit Kumar scored for the second game running and broke the deadlock inside ten minutes before Roy Krishna’s stunner doubled the Blues’ advantage in the 34th minute. The third and final goal of the match came just after the hour-mark when Siva Narayanan unleashed a left-footed drive from the edge of the box after drifting in from the right flank.

INDIAN SUPER LEAGUE - 2022-23 LIVE SCORE

The game got off to a bright start, with both sides treading into opposition territory and testing waters regularly. Prabir Das pounced on Krishna’s through pass down the right flank before whipping a cross towards the far post, where Rohit’s side-footed volley put Bengaluru FC in front in the eighth minute.

The Blues had to endure Jamshedpur FC's pressure after pressing ahead. The hosts held on to the ball and probed, winning four corners in six minutes at one point. The Bengaluru FC defence was tested by Eli Sabia, Harry Sawyer and Daniel Chukwu, particularly in the air, but managed to hold on throughout a game in which Jamshedpur FC weren’t devoid of chances.

In all, Jamshedpur FC kept the ball more and made a staggering 25 attempts on goal, but managed to get only four of those on target. At the other end, Bengaluru FC showed the importance of being clinical and established a two-goal cushion just after the half-hour mark, when Krishna fired a shot from 30 yards out and caught the hosts off guard.

In the second half. Ricky Lallawmawma whipped in a pin-point cross to Sawyer, who was unmarked at the far post. The Australian headed the ball into the ground before it bounced over the bar. A little over ten minutes later, Narayanan drove the final nail in the coffin with a sublime left-footed strike.

The combination of Sandesh Jhinghan and Alan Costa at the back of Bengaluru FC’s defence constantly thwarted the physical and aerial threats that were hurled at them by the Jamshedpur FC attackers, and ultimately took the Blues to their fourth clean sheet of the season.

Bengaluru FC are just a point away from sixth place, but have played one game more than FC Goa and two more than Chennaiyin FC, who are their two immediate rivals in the playoff race. The Marina Machans will be their next opponent on January 28.

INDIAN SUPER LEAGUE - 2022-23 LIVE SCORE

MATCH SUMMARY: Bengaluru FC clinched back-to-back wins for the first time this season, beating Odisha FC 3-1 in the Hero Indian Super League (ISL) at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium in Bengaluru on Saturday to signal their arrival into the playoffs race.

Rohit Kumar broke the deadlock before Roy Krishna ended his ten-game goalless streak to double the Blues’ advantage. Diego Mauricio pulled one back from the spot in the opening stages of the second half, but the home side managed to close Odisha FC's pursuit for the major part of the game before Pablo Perez came on to score his first goal for the Blues in stoppage time to wrap up all three points. This was the first time this season that Bengaluru FC scored more than two goals in a game.

Despite dominating possession in the early stages, the Juggernauts were at the receiving end of two quickfire goals. 25 minutes into the game, Javi Hernandez’s cross from the right flank was cut back across the face of goal by Alan Costa, straight into the path of Rohit Kumar, who planted the ball into the back of the net.

INDIAN SUPER LEAGUE - 2022-23 LIVE SCORE

Just three minutes later, against the run of play, Sivasakthi Narayanan galloped down the left flank and played a perfect through ball for Roy Krishna. The Fijian took a touch before calmly slotting the ball past Amrinder Singh to end his ten-game goal drought. Five minutes from the break, Hernandez pounced on a loose ball near the halfway line and sprinted towards the goal before seeing his close-range effort saved by Amrinder.

The second half got off to a bright start with end-to-end football on display. The hosts had a couple of chances that were dealt with by Amrinder before Mauricio was brought down at the other end by Gurpreet Singh Sandhu after skipping past Parag Shrivas. The striker stepped up to take the penalty and sent Sandhu the wrong way from the spot to pull one back for his team. It was the striker’s fifth goal in three games for his club.

But problems piled up for Gombau as half-time substitute Victor Rodriguez picked up an injury and had to be taken off in the 70th minute with Pedro Martin coming on. In the 92nd minute, the game was put to bed after substitutes Udanta Singh and Pablo Perez combined to score on the counterattack as Odisha FC pushed hard in Bengaluru FC’s third.

INDIAN SUPER LEAGUE - 2022-23 LIVE SCORE

Bengaluru FC have snatched a win here in the dying moments of the game. It was Alan Costa's header again that proved to be the winner between these two sides, as he did it in the reverse fixture as well.

The first half was pretty even, as both sides got a decent amount of chances but could not finish them. However, BFC, just like they did in the first half, started the second half on the front foot as well. Siva Narayanan, who missed a golden chance earlier, gave the lead to BFC with a good finish. After conceding the goal, NorthEast United FC played good football and tested the Bengaluru FC defence.

They were rewarded for their efforts when Romain Philippoteaux levelled the score with a clever free kick. It was an even game for a while after that as both teams went for the win. In the end, NEUFC pushed a lot of players up front, and their tired defence could not cope with the pace of the BFC attackers.

Alan Costa headed in the winner in the additional time to give them all three points. NEUFC were once again left empty handed, and they will need to find a way to stop conceding late goals.

Bartholomew Ogbeche ended his seven-game goal drought as Hyderabad FC eased past Bengaluru FC with a 3-0 win in the Hero Indian Super League (ISL) at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium in Bengaluru on Friday. The striker broke the deadlock from a cleverly-worked free-kick before forcing an own-goal out of Sandesh Jhingan at the stroke of half-time. Joel Chianese came off the bench to wrap the game up in the 90th minute.

INDIAN SUPER LEAGUE - 2022-23 LIVE SCORE

The opening goal came when Halicharan Narzary, Herrera, and Ogbeche combined brilliantly to execute a well-worked free kick near the edge of the box that saw Ogbeche smash a low shot past Gurpreet Singh Sandhu to end his scoring drought in the 26th minute. His last goal before the seven-game drought came in the reverse fixture earlier this season.

A minute before the break, Hyderabad FC doubled their lead. Narzary whipped in a cross from the left before Ogbeche headed it into the grass. The ball was heading off-target before Jhingan’s scuffed clearance sliced it into the back of his own net as the defending champions went in at half-time with a two-goal cushion.

Substitutes combined to put the game to bed as Abdul Anjukandan’s low cross from the right was side-footed into the far post by Chianese in the final minute of the game as the Blues fell to their seventh defeat of the season.

The loss keeps them in eighth position, nine points off the last playoff spot. The Blues will travel to the Salt Lake Stadium next to take on East Bengal FC on December 30, Friday. Hyderabad FC are back at the top of the table, a point ahead of Mumbai City FC, who have a game in hand. The defending champions will host NorthEast United FC on December 29, Thursday.

A fifth-minute Danish Farooq strike was enough to hand Bengaluru FC three vital points against Jamshedpur FC in the Hero Indian Super League (ISL) at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium in Bengaluru on Saturday. Opportunities came at both ends of the pitch as the Blues rattled the woodwork on a couple of occasions while the Red Miners couldn’t find success in the Bengaluru FC box.

The home crowd didn’t have to wait long for the first goal as Bengaluru FC got their noses in front five minutes into the game. Roy Krishna sprinted down the right flank before curling an early ball towards Farooq. The midfielder took a touch before dispatching it past the keeper at the near post from the edge of the box.

Five minutes after the opener, Krishna darted into the box and aimed for the far post with a low shot. However, the Fijian’s effort was deflected behind for a corner that led to nothing. In the 19th minute, Jay Thomas’ throw-in from the right flank found its way through to Ishan Pandita, whose sliced volley was pushed onto the upright by Gurpreet Singh Sandhu.

Minutes into the second half, Hernandez had a couple of opportunities. In the first one, his shot from the edge of the box lacked power and was saved by Yadav. Moments later, the Spaniard fired another attempt from a similar position, and on that occasion, only managed to find the post.

Five minutes past the hour-mark, Pandita was presented with two decent chances inside the box. Jitendra Singh whipped a promising ball in from the right flank. It was headed into the path of Pandita by substitute Daniel Chukwu before the striker fired it wide.

Harry Sawyer then went past Shrivas and played the ball into the box, where Pandita was completely unmarked. However, the 24-year-old’s attempt did not make the desired contact with the ball, summarising the evening for the Red Miners.

Kerala Blasters FC reached a new landmark after notching their fifth successive win in the Hero Indian Super League (ISL), an exhilarating 3-2 result against Bengaluru FC at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Kochi on Sunday.

INDIAN SUPER LEAGUE - 2022-23 LIVE SCORE

Both teams came in unchanged, and it was the visitors who drew first blood after just 14 minutes when skipper Sunil Chhetri pounced on a long ball from defence and tried to take it away from Blasters goalkeeper Prabhsukhan Gill. As they came together, Chhetri fell to ground and the referee pointed to the spot. Chhetri got off the mark this season as he sent Gill the wrong way and put the Blues in front.

Eleven minutes later, the hosts restored parity. Sandesh Jhingan took Diamantakos out near the edge of the box with a tackle. Adrian Luna struck the upright from the resulting free kick and the ball cannoned off to the right flank. From there, Sandeep Singh whipped in a cross, and Marko Leskovic managed to keep his composure in a crowded box to level the score.

The comeback was complete two minutes before the break. Luna, who was menacing in the final third throughout the half, played an inch-perfect low cross from the left flank into the box, where Diamantakos got ahead of Aleksandar Jovanovic and got on the scoresheet in his fifth successive game.

In the 70th minute, substitute Giannou established a two-goal cushion for the Blasters. Approaching the Bengaluru FC penalty area, Diamantakos played a through pass to Giannou before the 32-year-old striker took it away from Sandhu and squeezed it in from a tight angle with his first contribution after coming on.

The Blues were not down and out as they pulled one back in the 81st minute courtesy of Hernandez. Blasters defender Ruivah Hormipam’s looping header landed straight at the feet of Hernandez, who unleashed a fierce volley from the edge of the box that flashed past the keeper to cut the deficit back down to one. But that was to be Bengaluru FC’s last offence.

A Javi Hernandez brace ended Bengaluru FC’s five-match winless and four-match goalless run as they picked up a 2-0 win against FC Goa in the Hero Indian Super League (ISL) at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium on Saturday. The Blues also nabbed their first clean sheet since their season opener as they handed the Gaurs their first home defeat of the season.

Javi Hernandez broke the deadlock and ended Bengaluru FC’s goal drought in the 27th minute. Anwar Ali was closed down by Roy Krishna as he brought the ball out defence - Krishna put Hernandez through on goal and the Spaniard calmly slotted it past Dheeraj Singh to give the Blues their first goal since Matchweek 2.

INDIAN SUPER LEAGUE - 2022-23 LIVE SCORE

In the 37th minute, Gurpreet was at full stretch to push Vazquez’s free-kick away to safety. At the other end, in first-half stoppage time, Dheeraj came darting out of the box towards the right flank and took Krishna out. The FC Goa shot-stopper only saw a yellow card for his foul on the Fijian striker.

In the second half, FC Goa started on the front foot. However, it was Bengaluru FC who doubled their advantage in the 57th minute. As the Gaurs swarmed forward, the Blues broke on the counter with Udanta Singh, who dinked it through to Hernandez. The Spaniard entered the box, rounded the keeper, and calmly slotted the ball into an empty net.

Ten minutes from time, Krishna received a long ball from defence and tried to chip it over the keeper. The ball sailed over the keeper and was inches away from the far post. At the other end, in the next minute, Ali rocketed one towards the top-left corner of goal. Gurpreet Singh produced a timely save as he got fingertips on it and put it behind for a corner.

INDIAN SUPER LEAGUE - 2022-23 LIVE SCORE

Two goals in two halves helped Mumbai City FC ease past Bengaluru FC in the Hero Indian Super League (ISL) at the Mumbai Football Arena in Mumbai, today. Jorge Diaz and Lalengmawia Ralte scored in the first half, while Bipin Singh and Lallianzuala Chhangte sealed a comfortable 4-0 win for the Islanders in the second half.

Mumbai City head coach Des Buckingham made one change to his starting eleven as Mandar Dessai was replaced at left-back by Vignesh D. BFC head coach Simon Grayson switched from a 4-4-2 to a 4-2-3-1 as Alan Costa replaced Aleksandar Jovanovic in defence. Skipper Sunil Chhetri dropped to the bench as Danish Farooq started on the left flank.

Diaz struck in the 14th minute to put the hosts in front, as he pinched the ball from Alan Costa who was caught napping in defence. The Argentinian striker took the ball off Costa’s feet, advanced towards the goal and slotted it past a rooted Gurpreet Singh Sandhu.

INDIAN SUPER LEAGUE - 2022-23 LIVE SCORE

The Islanders doubled their advantage in the 32nd minute. Greg Stewart’s low cross from the right went past Bipin Singh and found an unmarked Ralte. The midfielder was given plenty of time and room in the box as he took a couple of touches before smashing it into the net.

In the 58th minute, Rahul Bheke’s long ball from defence caught the Bengaluru FC backline off-guard. Diaz skipped the offside trap and found himself in a one-on-one situation with the keeper. The striker unselfishly squared the ball to Bipin, who tapped it into an empty net to make it three for the Islanders.

The hosts then fired in their fourth of the evening in the 74th minute. Diaz’s pass was deflected by Sandesh Jhingan and found its way into Chhangte’s path. The winger wrapped his boot around it and placed it perfectly into the top left corner of the goal to wrap it all up.

Odisha solidified their fortress in Kalinga, picking up their second win in two games at home, as they pipped Bengaluru FC 1-0 to move to the top of the Hero Indian Super League (ISL) with nine points. Nandhakumar Sekar scored a belter in the 33rd minute, and it turned out to be the game's only goal. This was Sekar’s second Hero ISL goal and also his second against Bengaluru FC in the Hero ISL.

The Juggernauts opened their account in the 33rd minute with an absolute thunderbolt from Sekar. Sahil Panwar’s corner was cleared, but only as far as Sekar. The striker bagged his second Hero ISL goal in style with a venomous strike from 26 yards out.

Closing in on the hour mark, the game got quite scrappy in the middle third. Bengaluru FC tried to push the hosts into their own half. Creativity in the midfield was lacking as both sides attempted a few long passes towards their respective strikers. Krishna was tightly marked and so was substitute Pedro Martin at the other end.

In the 67th minute, the Juggernauts ventured forward with Pedro Martin getting the ball into the box. The striker’s scuffed effort eventually landed in the path of Jerry, who was completely unmarked. However, the winger failed to capitalise and fired his shot straight at the keeper.

Hyderabad FC remained unbeaten in the Hero Indian Super League (ISL) after a narrow 1-0 victory over Bengaluru FC at the G.M.C. Balayogi Athletic Stadium in Hyderabad. Bartholomew Ogbeche (‘83) got the only goal of the game to keep Hyderabad FC at the top of the league table.

Hyderabad FC found some space on the wings in the first couple of minutes but weren’t able to find the right cross. Ogbeche, who was the league’s top goalscorer last season, was kept quiet by Bengaluru FC’s five-man backline. Alan Costa, in particular, was impressive from his right centre-back position for Bengaluru FC.

INDIAN SUPER LEAGUE - 2022-23 LIVE SCORE

Bengaluru FC captain Sunil Chettri, who was making his 100th appearance for the club – and became the first player to achieve this for a single ISL club - showed his composure and quality every time he got on the ball, but Hyderabad FC did a good of making sure he wasn’t being supplied with the ball regularly. Jayesh Rane started his first game of the season for Bengaluru FC, but they faced the same ball retention issues again.

Both teams made some attacking changes with 75 minutes gone. Leon Augustine had come on for Siva in the 64th minute, this was followed by double substitutions from both sides 10 minutes later.

The deadlock was finally broken in the 83rd minute by Ogbeche, giving Hyderabad FC a 1-0 lead. Borja Herrera’s corner was tamely pushed by Gurpreet Sandhu into the path of Ogbeche, who headed home his second goal of the campaign. That was enough for Hyderabad FC to get all three points. They now sit on seven points, with Bengaluru FC on four.

Roy Krishna scored inside five minutes to give the Blues an early advantage but Prasanth Karuthadathkuni scored at the stroke of half-time to restore parity. It did not take long for the first goal as Roy Krishna silenced the stands of the Marina Arena in the fourth minute. From the right flank, Siva Narayanan bent a cross into the box with the outside of his right foot. Krishna nestled the ball into the Chennayin FC net with a sublime glancing header. From there on, it was the home team that took control of the game for large parts of the game.

The striker was livid after the referee did not point to the spot.

Iranian defender Vafa Hakhamaneshi took over goal keeping duties for Chennaiyin FC till the full-time whistle. In the third minute of stoppage time, Karikari sprinted towards the Bengaluru goal before firing his shot high. The Marina Machans will stay in Chennai for their next game against FC Goa on 21st October, Friday.
